Here are 20 portraits of friends we painted together since Emilie was a baby to 5-years-old.
    1) “Waiting for Emilie” November 2014
    2) “Luigi #1”

Well Regina how can you play with your kids and not get dirty unless you are playing outside in water that is. LOL. Too funny you are!! I still have to get dirty and I'm a GreatGrandMother now. Still getting messy, sticky, goopy, wet and laughing all the way. No fussing Regina it's time for you to get wet, dirty, messy try building volcanoes in mud in a gutter and don't forget to have to volcano erupt with baking soda and vinegar(i Think) well look it up online. Same with Easter eggs to die them a really dark color you add extra vinegar to the water. Then after they dry my gmother would rub them with a little cooking oil for a shiny look. I love Paul, Mother, the Elephants & Emilie. You gotta love Paul Barton's ways they are God's as well.

@@jwilcox4726 My mother would freak out as us getting dirty as kids, she has an OCD over it. She would wash her hands so much even my older sister also picked up the insane handwashing. Even now, if something like a sock fell to the floor (even if it was cleaned not that long ago) she will wash it before putting it on...A SOCK THAT'S PROBABLY GOING TO TOUCH THE FLOOR ANYWAY. I was fortunate enough not to fall down the same path, maybe cause I hung around my father more and he wasn't like that. So maybe she's seen kids that have parents like that or something. Not everyone has the luxury of a normal childhood, and while working through my anxiety issues thanks to my childhood I've learnt it's a lot more common than you'd think.

I bet when she's 10 she will be just as good as a regular 25 Yo artist no doubt in my mind!

      @@John-qk4mk
TLDR: had some bad experiences in the past.
      The novel:
I encourage the artistic instincts of children, as my mother did for me. However, my experience as an amusement park portraitist has given me some parenoia in regards to my work getting randomly destroyed or otherwise slightly flawed by guests. Children are a repeat offender, after all, they want to color too! Sometimes I would turn my back from my easil for but a moment, and there would be pink scribbles on the face I was drawing. It gave me the idea that children and art as a job don't mix well. I feared that were I to have children one day, they may think to "help" me with my work, only to ruin it in a few seconds (and my work takes so long... it's tiring omw).
This video gave the epiphany that it is mostly children who do not respect what you are doing that are a problem. I cannot expect random kids who I've never met before to understand that I make money off of my work and that it must look a certain way.
When drawing with children, I'm usually not creating fine art. Typically we each have our own page, and when a child wants to draw on mine I welcome it and we make something really strange looking together. The unique thing about this video, is that the father is guiding the process and setting up bounderies for the execution of the drawing, whilst fostering creativity. This shows that you can create fine art with children, not just surreal crayon doodles... Something I didn't think possible or productive before. I want to be that kind of parent one day.

    • @John-qk4mk
      @John-qk4mk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

@@MunthApollo interesting approach, usually I just grab those little fuckers by the feet and dip their heads upside in a paint bucket, using their hair as the brush. It loads the paint surprisingly well! I then grab and whirl them around by the feet and paint just like I would with a normal paint brush. It's great! the kids seem to love being thrown and flung around, and although it might not be the most realistic piece, theres sort of an abstract expressionism quality that comes though. Similar to a Jackson Pollock painting. Just make sure to hold on to them. I will never forget the summer festival of 2010 when I lost my grip and unintentionally flung a four year old almost straight through the canvas! besides some minor scrapes and bruises the kid was alright. these days I wrap duct tape around my arms/their legs to ensure they don't slip out:)

Why are you planning her future when she is a literal toddler, and act like as if all in her adult life is going to be motherhood?! Can we for once stop shoving this age old social construct down on little girls and instead flush it down the drain, instead of acting as if that all there is to a woman is how how she will be as a mother, and that all little girls will grow up to be mothers. Females have more to them than the people they cater to!
If you wanna be a parent yourself, focus on that!
Ps. You can acknowledge seemingly healthy parenting without placing motherhood on little girls!

The mother & father are teaching & raising this child together. They are both in on all of it together as it should be. It's called things in common, back in the day. Now it's marry first guy gets you pg. or whoever to have a child instead of becoming yourself something so you have somethings to offer a new human into the world the gift from God that all children are to be. On loan to procreate with the creator. Couldn't be better than this. Amazing. Father is half of parenting not a gift to the mother or the child. It is a much needed responsibility of half of the parenting always and for life till the grandkids come and then we have a responsibility for them to get to know us as different but like mom & dad. It's all necessary and required not a gift to anyone but the parents to have the priviledge of raising a child up for the creator to be like the creator which is the Holy Spirit whom God the Father created to create everything else. As it is to this day. Love.

There would e no more wars - creativity joyfully expressed instead of destructively expressed. No more suffering of parents, children, or animals. The entire world would brighten its light exponentially. Magnificent times ahead. The earth, Gaia, is heading into the 5th Dimension and this family is one reason why.

It doesn't really matter in the end, I think, although we're always interested "... and they lived happily ever after. The End." but it's enough to live on the rest of ones' life to know a person was cared for and so much so to develop to their finest in some respect; that they could potentially become part of the greater humanity of this world, especially for others that don't see a 'future' in our species. There are some of us that do and accomplish incredible things in childhood, there should be no limit to hope taught by actions for those of an early age as prodigies or even as humans overcoming obstacles. But, you can tell in this series of videos that visions can be instilled, skills can be developed, and perhaps a touch of 'love conquers all?", or the platitude that success breeds success (in the crude expression).

Why can't you just admire his amazing skill and beautiful relationship with his little girl without making everything into some PC race competition? My first thought was 'wow I wish I could paint like that', not 'I must count to make sure there is a fully diverse quota in the paintings'.
