I seriously don't understand the trailer 😐, what is the movie about? The only line that got me in the trailer was the dude who said he got certain expectations and she got certain duties, like wtf??are women slaves to men🤨
no, but less than a century ago, women didn't have a lot of rights, had duties as housewives and were expected to behave a certain way (obey her man basically because he was in charge of their lives while she was in charge of the domestic stuffs)
The movie is, basically: a new neighbor couple moves in near the main character (dark hair) and her husband. Her husband is dismissive and difficult, but the other woman’s husband is fully abusive and neglectful. The two women strike up a friendship….but as they both become more and more intoxicated by the realization that somebody else “sees” and appreciates them in a way their husbands never do, their close bond blossoms into a forbidden romance. What will happen, in such a puritanical society? Will the abusive husband find out? Will the two women run away together, or are they doomed to stay trapped in their separate cages like pretty birds, simply prisoners of the time period in which they happened to be born? It’s a very stunning movie. Oh and it’s all narrated through the writings of the main character.
