You consistently amaze me - how does anyone make going shopping so interesting?! I appreciate that it’s as much because it’s so different to my kind of shopping, as much as anything, but you’d think “nah, seen that done before…” would be the reaction at times…but it never is. The more of your trips you show the more I admire what you do in that short space of time - how organised you are, how you come up with alternatives when it goes wrong, the decisions you make, even down to the way you pack it all up to get it home. And that’s without what you do with it when you actually get it home! I love your channel, so glad I found it, and I hope lots of other people do the same in future.
Naww, thank you. And I think you're right, watching other peoples shopping etc is fun because it isn't yours! there's differences whether they're differences that you find odd, or find good! But I do like to see things that tickle me too, I watch the way some other people buy etc and think, I wonder if I could do something like that!
It’s so funny to see that your Costco, all the way around the world, looks just like mine! And now I’m curious about how much the sourdough bread costs here if they even stock it. 😁 I enjoyed this video even if you didn’t get all the shots you wanted to. Seeing the front of the butcher shop was interesting too. All you can do is all you can do, and you did just fine in spite of the frustrations. 👍🏻
Shopping is a lot of hard work and frustrating for one weeks worth of food let alone six weeks. You did a great job. Hope you had a nice time with your friends and mom at your dinner.
It’s always nice to go out to dinner occasionally and have someone else cook here! I tell myself the whole trip, six weeks till I have to do it again! :)
I hope your pub date was fun! Thanks for taking us along again. Always looks exhausting to me, but you always get it done! I would love and produce and meat market like you have. We don’t have anything like that here.
It took me a while to find it, I went to a few different places and this is almost out of the way but not enough to be a serious concern, but once I found the right place, I definitely go back!
I look forward to your trips. I’m pooped after shopping for an hour so yours seem wonderful to me. Your struggles as you call them are just real life, no polishes and rehearsed shows.
Hi Nyssa, that really is a bit of a marathon, isn't it?!!! You amaze me with your boundless energy and commitment to feeding your family well. Cheers from Newfoundland, Canada. 🎉🎉🎉
It definitely takes some planning and work, but it saves us money and I reckon time too, even though its a lengthy trip, if I broke down the amount of time required to go somewhere closer more often! I hate leaving the property, I'd rather spend that time making the food!
That click and park hassle would have done me in too! What a pain! I guess you’ll have to bring some reusable bags with next time to transport the frozen items into your mom’s place since the paper isn’t up to the job. That’s nice that you got the trailer will make shopping trips easier and you can get more!
I have plenty of the reusable fabric bags, I just always forget to take them, hopefully this will prompt me too lol, don't want to deal with this again! :D
Awesome video, try not to over do it and get too stressed.. otherwise you could end up sick again.. I'm a mother hen type lol 😂 you have your hands full , I could never of done everything you do even when I was young and healthy.. have a safe trip home

Heh, I’ve had a lot of people wonder why I weigh everything! But I do find it helpful, knowing exactly how much meat/bread portions make, I don’t care re veg etc, but for meat and doughs it really helps!
I get Coles delivery-$2 or $4 and saves a 250km round trip... the delivery driver was furious at the paper bag situation, she had two racks of my order, no bags and the fridge freezer stuff put in one paper bag that tore as she got it out of the cooler...😬 I just carried in the racks whilst she hung at the front door, no biggie for me, but her whole day was the same thing.
Oh! I hadn’t thought about the poor delivery people! Yes that would be so frustrating! They didn’t hold, even with light stuff as soon as you carried more than one because of the angles and strain the handles were tearing :s
Shopping is lots of work and tiring for sure. Plus, when you get tired, people can start to bug you as you are shopping. At least I have noticed that. Your hair looked so pretty down. That is quite a huge haul of items you purchased. I would be exhausted. Well done friend.
I look forward to your 6 weekly videos, you pack alot into very few days! How frustrating with the Coles paper bags, the first time I had a delivery in paper bags the delivery guy dropped them at my front door and then warned me to be careful as they rip very easily. Once again a great haul, take care of yourself and I look forward to the next. Happy birthday to Apollo
Hey Nyssa🥰 Yay I’m glad you got to go out to the pub for dinner to celebrate your 40th🎉 Love the colour of the jumper you bought from Kmart!!! And the boys hoodie jumpers look lovely too. Oh what a drag about the Coles click & collect👎🏻 The paper bags are terrible quality! Your curls are beautiful🥰 Such a long trip but you did so well especially getting the trailer & wood stove too. Gee unpacking after the drive, you must have been so exhausted. Rest up my friend 🥰
I think its worse in Winter too, because its dark by the time I get back, so its using torches and stuff to get it all, and we stack it on the table, then film it then get the kids to put it away then stack the next lot etc lol, much nicer in summer when its still daylight, the actual shopping trip is better when its not so hot though! lol
It goes so fast! Once we turn the trailer into a cold room, I think I can drag it out a couple more weeks, our main issue atm is lack of fruit and veg towards the end of the six weeks, though we always have frozen!
Awesome work you put into it! I was tired just watching you do all that! I made homemade pizza for supper tonight and put corn on one to try it. My son and me really liked it! My husband, not so much!
It is stacked everywhere, Crates/totes and Food safe barrels, There's some that live under the kids table with their rice cakes/crackers etc, some that live under my kitchen bench with dried pasta etc, there's a stack of 6 barrels with flours and stuff stacked beside my bench lol. But the goal has always been, and still is, a 3m x 6m pantry room. We bought some shelves second hand from a local grocery store to put in there and it will be fantastic once we get it!
I saw a man try to exit the shopping centre from Coles with two paper bags of food. He got to the door and they just broke on him with his groceries on the ground. Frustrating. I do remember paper bags before the plastic and they were sturdier (I think). Shopping is tiring and all the work involved; into trolley, out of trolley to scan, back into trolley, then to pack it and repack again, then unpack and store away when home. I went to Costco this week, didn't see that bread at mine. I do hope you had a nice belated pub meal for your birthday. That trailer looks good. As is often said to me, remember to breathe.
I enjoyed the pub meal, its rare, but always nice! :D. Urhg, poor guy, I will have to remember again next time, not that I usually do click and collect, I just wanted to pay with paypal lol. I got a bargain with the trailer I reckon, now just to figure out doing it up!
You sounded absolutely fed up after the Coles issues! I go into town fortnightly to get everything as well as going to the laundromat. Its driving, parking, rushing in, on repeat about 10 times! I only have an hours drive home! Getting home and then having to unload would be torture with the quantities you have, its bad enough with our loads! Hope you enjoyed your dinner out! Im sure your food tastes better than anything you buy!
I really hate going places I don't know, and I had to exit the carpark through the boom gates, and then drive to the opposite side of the shop, but I think the worst part was I was inside the centre, I went to the desk at Coles and asked to collect it myself and they refused.. :S I do find that lol, I get excited to order food, but really, I would have just preferred my own cooking lol.
Nyssa what a busy busy shopping trip again!!! I applaud your stamina 👏👏 Personal note please take care of your arm it looks really sore and Girl you have the most Gorgeous hair ❤❤ A Wood Stove AWESOME 👍👍👍 Hope you enjoyed your 40 th treat 🎉🎉🎉 Love from the UK x
I totally forgot to redress it that morning, it was silly of me, its dressed again now at home, as soon as I had a shower and I'm keeping it wet and covered! Thankyou :D
You have some beautiful hair Nessa ( please let me know if I'm spelling your name right) . I love your enthusiasm and how you are smiling all the time. I look forward to seeing the videos, they make my day for sure. Thank you for sharing with us and keep up the great work ♥️♥️

@@OurSmallFootprint thank you,now I won't get your name wrong lol I'm 58 and my hair is longer now than it's ever been, and it's summer time and extremely hot so I keep my hair up all the time
@@rhondaboggs5539 Messy bun or pony tail is my go to lol, especially with the curls, once its been put up it gets too messy to wear down! But while I'm at mums I use her fancier shampoo hehe :D
If I only have the Ute I find that I don’t have room for extra containers, everything has to shove into every gap. When I have the trailer with me it’s so much easier though! :)
@@OurSmallFootprint I was thinking for getting your groceries from here to there...no breaking paper bags. Then fold and put in glovebox or under seat.
@@surpriseme4275 ahh yes, mum always has spare ones for getting the stuff from her place back down to the car! And I could have gone and grabbed some out from under her sink to bring stuff up to the house too, I was lazy and just used the bags they gave me, which hasn’t been an issue with the plastic ones because I take all the dry goods out and have extra to split stuff between, but the paper bags, Urgh. I might have to stash some in the car now though!
Seeing the prices of the breads at Costco must make you so proud to have the skills and willpower to make your own (which tastes 10x better!). I hope the burn on your forearm is no longer paining you...I HATE burns...they HURT for way too long.
I was so shocked by the price, that brand was all new lines at Costco, which is why I showed them, and it really didn't look that great tbh, especially for the price! I am so glad I can make my own, it is worth the effort!
I suppose a sweater ? The boys were hooded, no zip up the front and I think they might have had kangaroo pockets, the girls had no hood, just a crew neck neckline, but pull over the head as well, no zip. To be worn over other clothing when its chilly.
You probably have done this, but have you compared the frozen items at your local Aldi rather than buying from Aldi 4hours away. I know what you mean about the paper bags. They make us bring our own heavy duty bags. The paper ones only last long enough to be put in an other bag. They need to bring in compostable bags. Would love to see more on how you use your Thermomix. Your the only person on TH-cam that I have seen using it daily.
The local Aldi for us is still 1.5 hours away, I haven’t compared prices though, I don’t tend to go anywhere else, when Darryl goes in during the week I might get him to check though! I keep on meaning to do some shorts on things I use the thermomix for but I forget to film vertically for them, it’s on my list to try and do better with this month!
@@OurSmallFootprint I know its still far, but it would help to avoid going to so many shops when you do go to Brisbane. You would be able to bulk up on other items and maybe extend your Brisbane trip. Hope this helps. Love your videos and your doing a great job.
@@IsabellCrafts We used to shop in Toowoomba more regularly, before we moved to going to Brisbane because of the costco availability, I ended up spending more if I went more often, I found that we didn't use what we had as effectively because we knew we'd go back and get more kinda thing hehe. If Darryl goes to Toowoomba, I might get him to grab some stuff, but we don't go just to grab stuff, its a full day lost just about, 1.5 hours each way plus the time spent in there etc :). Fuel is not cheap either :S. We try and make sure any trips to Toowoomba are done efficiently, go when there's doctors appointments, he regularly goes to Bunnings while there, the kids need something that they need to try on/choose, so they'll go with him too :)
I've looked at that as an option, but I don't actually use bags much, only for getting the cold too and from mums freezer, everything else isn't in bags generally speaking it's loose in the tins and eskies, but it would be a good use for them.
Wow Nyssa, that looked tiring... No wonder you only shop every 6 weeks. Are you going to stretch your grocery hauls to every 12 weeks? I remember you mentioned that in a previous video. :)
If we can get the trailer turned into a cold room, that’s the plan! But until that point I don’t have enough room to buy enough for 12 weeks currently’. I do wonder though, by dragging it out that long if I might miss out on some seasonal fruit iykwim
I honestly don't know what's worse for the environment; the plastic bags that use fossil fuels to be made and don't decompose (but are reusable), or killing trees to make paper bags that rip and are useless after one use. I use my own roll-up bags (made from parachute material, so yeah, plastic - but so versatile, strong, and mend-able) that I've had for well over 15 years now; I got them at Woolies as a purse pack of 8 for $8 (I got 3 packs). They won't hold really bulky items, but neither will the paper or ordinary sized plastic bags.
Its a hard one isn't it! I do have cloth bags, and I use them for many things at home, but I don't generally use much in the way of shopping bags on my trips because everything goes in the eskies/toolboxes, but with click and collect and knowing I had to take those frozen goods up to mums place.... lol, I will have to just make an effort to take the reusable bags next trip!
I really should have re dressed it for the day! I totally forgot, I dressed it as soon as I showered at home and have kept it dressed since, its much more comfortable with a wet dressing on.
I hate Coles click & collect. I can't speak so ringing a phone number when I get there is a huge pain in the neck. Much prefer Woolies where I can just tap a button on the app and they bring it right out.
I wanted to pick up from the counter! I was already in the shopping centre, walked up to the counter and just wanted to wheel the trolley to my car where it was already parked and they wouldn't do it :S
@@OurSmallFootprint yeah that's just dumb! I used to be able to do that at Coles but it seems they've quietly removed that option when you order. Now it's all direct to boot.
@@melvanini I'm standing there at the counter, saying to the lady I'm already parked, can't you just bring me the trolley, and they wouldn't do it :S her english wasn't real great either so trying to get directions from her wasn't the easiest either :S
I noticed you had burnt your arm, coincided with my finger, so my sympathies with you, bloody annoying for me as I keep knocking it. You have your Mums hair, lovely.
@@outbackchick5111 I'm keeping it covered atm, bought fresh dressings and tape, flushing it in the shower and keeping it covered with cream the rest of the time! I totally forgot to cover it Friday morning, regretted it by the end of the day, kept knocking it all day!

Hi do you get 20kg feed bags for the chickens . Looking on utube and it will show you how to sew recycled shopping bag out of them . They are strong .
Thats a clever idea, turning your trailer into a cold room. I do know what you mean though, as fresh produce is so nice to have day in and day out..
Your arm looks so sore ♥️🤗🙏
Urgh, knocked it so much on the trip! Was horrid!
Not a small burn either! Take care it doesn’t get infected. 💜
@@outbackchick5111 I'm keeping it covered atm, bought fresh dressings and tape, flushing it in the shower and keeping it covered with cream the rest of the time! I totally forgot to cover it Friday morning, regretted it by the end of the day, kept knocking it all day!
Don't know if I missed it but your arm looks sore!!!!
I managed to burn it on a bread pan, its pretty horrid :S. got myself good!
Your awesome!!! I also must have 12 of everything🤎
I think its a good number to work with hehe
