    Always a pleasure to listen to your performances Ralph! Honestly, one of the youtube channels I like the most. You have great musical taste and sensitivity, and all your uploads are of great quality. Thanks very much 🙏🏻

      I agree, DP. With Ralph you get great quality and quantity. And if you are a 'romantic' like me, you are educated to appreciate that without this music coming first . . . I would not have the music I love so much!

      Dank, Marijn! Één van de best gerestaureerde Schnitger-orgels, een knap staaltje vakwerk en mooi 'gevangen' in deze sample set.

    Another gem. Another flawless performance. Another six and a half minutes of joy. There is nothing that Georg could take exception to here; on the contrary, I'm sure he would be ecstatic to have you play his music so brilliantly. Bravo!

    Very nice played. Especially your articulation is always very enjoyable to hear to.The Echoeffects are a nice idea and I like that you are playing historically informed but that you are not one of the slavish followers of the "Äqualstimmenverbot" in north-german baroque music 😉

    • @RalphLooij
      @RalphLooij  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Nils-Ole! I'm certainly not a follower of the Äqualstimmenverbot, especially when playing on a Schnitger. The organ leads the way. When I'd play this on a romantic organ I would pay more attention to that though.

    • @eunjoolisafierro6124
      @eunjoolisafierro6124 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RalphLooij What does Äqualstimmenverbot mean?

    • @RalphLooij
      @RalphLooij  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eunjoolisafierro6124 It means that stops of the same pitch (and different scaling) can't be combined. For example as I did in partita 1 and partita 7 (small Adagio part). That was probably also due to the fact that, when these stops were combined, the wind pressure dropped abrubtly. In the 18th century (when organs also became better regarding wind stability) the rules became less strict. It's so good to hear Schnitger's charming tones in a variety of ways. Thank you for introducing me to such a wonderful partita. Besides, it is my first time to experience the 3' stop of an organ. Your rendition is also splendid, as always.
    p.s. where is Steinkirchen?

    • @RalphLooij
      @RalphLooij  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Steinkirchen is in Germany.
      The 3' stops were quite common on North-German baroque organs, Quinta or Nassat. Later on they were changed to 2 2/3' stops.
