You are an awesome teacher. As a lockdown activity my daughters and I drew the cat (normally I am hopeless at drawing, a matchstick man was a challenge for me! ) I was amazed at my drawing... I'm watching this two years later when COVID is finally ending and we're starting not to wear masks, and boy, I wish I knew about Mark when I was in the pandemic full swing.
Maybe I missed it but how did you go about the skin on the monkey's face? Is it just a light shading or is it tiny hairs aside from the long hair around the monkey?
When I really want to make my artwork look good...I do my Little Mark Crilley impersonation. I find that narrating my actions as I go really helps me for some odd reason.

Hi Mark,Firstly your a great Teacher loving the videos I’m currently working my way through your How To Draw Animal videos I just watched the cat one,in it you mentioned that you may do a more detailed video on how to finish the animals fur off I get so far and I stop because I’m not sure how to proceed with the last part in case I ruin the few hours I’ve already put in 🤣 if you have already done this could you point to the video if not could you please do a video showing us,even if you just have to condense it by filling a circle or a square with fur just to demonstrate the technique 👍

Hi, I found your channel around 6 years ago and I watch some video's now and then. I have seen a lot of progress, and I like that it doesn't feel like I am drawing on my own because you just tell your story, but I have a lot of trouble drawing 'freestyle'. It just looks really weird when I try to draw something which' picture is in my head. Can you please make a video about it? I am trying to get better at manga
my best advice is to start drawing from reality. Say you wanna become good at drawing frogs: google frogs and start drawing them. How does the eyes look? What about the legs? How big is the head compared to the body? Even better, go to your local pet store and observe them and draw. In about a month, you're gonna be good at drawing frogs. Then do the same thing with every other object in the world and you're going to be an expert in drawing EVERYTHING.
Great tutorial. It really helped but I wish you would have given us instructions on the direction and length of the hair on the face. Great video nonetheless

You can also use an 8B or a 9B pencil instead of a black prisma color
