    Nothing like starting your day with a hot cup of coffee and a brand new TFL video. Keep up the great work and keep those TFL's Camper Corner videos coming.

    Great review...well done....It was amazing to see how versatile the trailer and the hitch are. There are many roomier trailers for the same amount of money, but no way could you take them into the places this Colorado Teardrop trailer could go. The truck is a beauty too!

    I'm really surprised that you haven't done much to the Trail Boss yet. Expected to see at least some larger tires by now.

    I would love to see a comparison between this trailer and the Hiker Trailer. Both based in Colorado. Both affordable. Both tear drops. Better yet, how about a podcast episode? Thanks!

    The ground clearance on this trailer is amazing, axles that go all the way across if you don't need the weight capacity would drastically reduce the clearance wow. It almost has double what the truck has so you pretty much never have to worry about what it's rolling over

    I'm still looking for that cushy 5th wheel. But dang boys, y'all keep killing these reviews. Getting wider range of products and new ideas, camper corner and that race up the mountain was great. Kuddos

    In a tight spot, would you be able to disconnect and manually turn the trailer around on the dirt by yourself?

    • @vegpwrshlominator1873
      @vegpwrshlominator1873 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely as long as the tongue weight isn’t too heavy. I had a trailer similar to this and moved it around myself no problem.

    • @mikefoehr235
      @mikefoehr235 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even better if you have a wheel for the tongue part of the trailer.

    • @vegpwrshlominator1873

      Mike Foehr preferably with some tread the standard wheels you see don’t role great on dirt.

    I think at 7:12 Andre intentionally manually locked the trailer tires with the truck's break controller just to demonstrate.
    But would doing that while going downhill cause the trailer to drift?

  • @rik999
    @rik999 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Grease fittings at the articulation points of the hitch would be useful. I can see that hitch rattling badly after a year on dirt trails.

    • @mattv5281
      @mattv5281 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I rented a trailer with a lock n roll hitch, and it was still really solid. Much smoother and quieter than a standard ball hitch. Despite what Andre says about it only being only for small trailers, the hitch is rated for 11,000 pounds.

    • @wayne-oo
      @wayne-oo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No hitch should have grease on the mating surfaces ! Grease attacks dirt and sand causing severe ware !!

    I think I would prefer an old school pintle hitch...

    • @twg2118
      @twg2118 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why is that? I am picking up my off road trailer soon and wondering why the Pintle over the other articulating mounts?

    • @scytheakse
      @scytheakse 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Less points of failure, waaaaay higher load capacity, similar flexibility. Louder tho, so do what's best for you

    • @robertmorris3892
      @robertmorris3892 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the pintle hitch would be the way to go if you are hitting rougher terrain and towing. I've never seen a pintle hitch break or come unlocked. I don't think I would feel comfortable long term with the swivel part on the teardrop.

    What is the point of off road tires on a trailer? It doesn't supply power so what does it matter if it has an aggressive tread? I honestly want to know, so anyone please feel free to chime in.

    • @apoutdoors8996
      @apoutdoors8996 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people use the same tire as the pulling vehicle so you technically have multiple spares if you need to swap out a tire and ditch the trailer for repairs.

    • @BERPSU1
      @BERPSU1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@apoutdoors8996 Plus, the spare for the truck can be used to repair a flat on the trailer, which I find is very often the case when needing the spare.

    • @philtripe
      @philtripe 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      your right it makes no sense... its not like your going to take the wheels off the trailer to get home, you still need six good tires... the only advantage is it looks cool

  • @BobbyJanenNRx

    Literally have been to hunting camps in canyon lands area with way tougher roads, that my family got 5th wheel trailers and 30foot bumper pull trailers into. I’m not impressed with this testing.
