Think that Khanyisa still misses her baby life in the nursery a bit and makes the most of her return for weighing and the attention of her guardians. She hasn't fully made the transition to herd life emotionally yet: she likes the extra reassurance of the nursery and is taking her time in safety, receiving her herd's attention and some of the baby care she experienced. If this keeps up nicely, she will be such a confident little elephant!
May I say that you have said everything that I was thinking while I was watching this video. She is not sure of the area and being inside a building is definitely much safer for her to feel. I do hope that she doesn’t lose anymore weight too because I feel it has to be stressful for her even though the elephants do love her and have definitely accepted her in their family Herd even though her emotional status has to catch up. They are so protective over baby Khanyisa. Lovely to see her in the nursery - she was reluctant to leave. Her quick hi to Lunga priceless! Adine, not that I know much about raising elephants but Khanyisa's weight drop must've been through her transition from her nursery (her loving home, bed, bottles, foods, caring and so much love) to the Herd and sleeping outside of her comfort zone. Can only imagine. She's still very close to Tokwe and all the others. Precious baby Khanyisa 🐘🐑🙌. Thank you to all the Carers and Adine! God bless each and everyone of you! 😇🥰

Khanyisa is the glue of the herd. I have been watching and get a chuckle when she trumpets and everyone comes running and does the "danger drill". I think sometimes she does it for fun. I liked when you, Adine, gave command "back up" and she backed up but u turned right back to where you were and then kept backing up all around. So she figured out that the could get anywhere she wanted while backing up and being obedient following your command, but just pointing in the opposite direction. She is sooooo smart!!!!🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😉😊
I can hardly wait for the greening of the bush! It’s just so beautiful and lush in the rainy season! My heart is warmed by the new interest Pisa has in protecting Khanyisa. She’s always been so stand offish and preferred Timi. I guess she has a big enough heart to take her pinkness in too. 🤗 I don’t know if it was intensional or not but when Andine asked Khanyisa to back up from the fence, she continued to walk backwards all around Limpopo!😆😂🤣Such a goofy lovable girl. A double rainbow! How lovely. I was dreading each day in case the sky was clear. I remember the year when the rains started on Christmas day and what a storm that was. We were terrified. The power was out the pond overflowed and the water ran down the road. Ugh that was a scary day.
The homestead was at the end of the rainbow today. Khanyisa is getting so big. I'm glad that she's doing so well in the homestead. Love from Maryland USA.

Didn’t know is Khanyisa would notice Lammie and Nungu but she said hello to her friend so sweetly and Lammies excitement at seeing her old playmate so precious. Bonded. I’m so happy to see how Khanyisa fills the nursery! So healthy and lovely!!
Such a beautiful moment and the double rainbow encircling the homestead like a giant hug from mother nature. My biggest impression is how strong Adine, Stavros, and the rest of the team had to be as each day brings her closer to the herd where she belongs, to the steps she takes away from the closeness she experienced with her human family, I can only imagine how difficult that must be, but the true beauty in this story is seeing the humans putting Khanysia well being over their own feelings of loss. They still have her, but on a different scale, and you can see Khanysia have her own struggle as she nestles into her rightful place.
The staff are very dedicated and loving to all of the Elephants 🐘. All of them are very kind and highly skilled in taking care of your wonderful Elephants. I'm so glad the rainy season has gotten there.
I also noticed than Khanyisa cooperated with Adine at the fence. I bet she enjoyed seeing Adine up close and hearing her voice, too. Good to see her back in the nursery with her sheep friends and familiar surroundings.
...and her old digs, and Lammie, Nangu, and her Herman. Yet it's Adine she is trying to get near to the most in this video. I believe Adine and khanysia and the sheep are all hurting now in their hearts. I am one with all 3 of them.
What a great video, Adine/Carers! The double 🌈🌈 are gorgeous and hooray for the rains finally coming. Deputies 🐘🐘Pisa and Limpopo are carrying out their duties admirably, and it's so nice to see the love and care they are giving to Khanyisa. I was so happy that Meisiekind got to see Lammie and Nungu and receive hugs from Adine in the orphanage. That little backwards dance around Limpopo was priceless! Khanyisa must have felt so happy knowing that she's right next door. She's still a toddler and she's gonna be a speelse Meisiekind for a while longer! LOL! 😘
Khanyisa really is 'huge' like Adine says and too big for the now rather small looking nursery. Looked like she still remembers it very well though, also her old sheep companions. The nursery really looks like a kid's paradise, with the green grass and the ponds and the cute wooden fences. And it looked like Tokwe and Limpopo didn't want to give her back…
Tokwe and Limpopo took over from Adine surrounding little miss Sunshine with love care and protection but she is still happy to go back to the nursery and being spoiled by Stavros and Reply Quick gello to friend Nungu and hop she gors back to her Ellies Family

That was a sweet moment with Khanyisa and Limpopo at the fence, especially from 3:15 when Khanyisa started walking backwards around Limpopo. Good to hear she's gaining weight again. Watching elephant videos I've learnt elephants have tusk size sweet tooths. Khanyisa is a baby, so her tusks are still small, but sweet tooths are fully developped.
Ahhh it's was like she didn't quite want to leave the nursery so soon 💔 but that little hello to her friend was so cute , and Lammie just missing out as little pinkie followed the treats poor Lammie ,maybe next time 😊 ps so glad you're putting cameras in the homestead, can't wait to see the footage , thanks x
Something very interesting is happening with Pisa! She’s definitely appearing to act more like a herd member, and showing interest in Khanyisa for the first time. She’s a little young still to be an allomother but she certainly is acting big sistery 💕💕

Didn’t know is Khanyisa would notice Lammie and Nungu but she said hello to her friend so sweetly and Lammies excitement at seeing her old playmate so precious. Bonded. I’m so happy to see how Khanyisa fills the nursery! So healthy and lovely!!
Such a beautiful moment and the double rainbow encircling the homestead like a giant hug from mother nature. My biggest impression is how strong Adine, Stavros, and the rest of the team had to be as each day brings her closer to the herd where she belongs, to the steps she takes away from the closeness she experienced with her human family, I can only imagine how difficult that must be, but the true beauty in this story is seeing the humans putting Khanysia well being over their own feelings of loss. They still have her, but on a different scale, and you can see Khanysia have her own struggle as she nestles into her rightful place.
The staff are very dedicated and loving to all of the Elephants 🐘. All of them are very kind and highly skilled in taking care of your wonderful Elephants. I'm so glad the rainy season has gotten there.

I also noticed than Khanyisa cooperated with Adine at the fence. I bet she enjoyed seeing Adine up close and hearing her voice, too. Good to see her back in the nursery with her sheep friends and familiar surroundings.

What a great video, Adine/Carers! The double 🌈🌈 are gorgeous and hooray for the rains finally coming. Deputies 🐘🐘Pisa and Limpopo are carrying out their duties admirably, and it's so nice to see the love and care they are giving to Khanyisa. I was so happy that Meisiekind got to see Lammie and Nungu and receive hugs from Adine in the orphanage. That little backwards dance around Limpopo was priceless! Khanyisa must have felt so happy knowing that she's right next door. She's still a toddler and she's gonna be a speelse Meisiekind for a while longer! LOL! 😘

Khanyisa really is 'huge' like Adine says and too big for the now rather small looking nursery. Looked like she still remembers it very well though, also her old sheep companions. The nursery really looks like a kid's paradise, with the green grass and the ponds and the cute wooden fences. And it looked like Tokwe and Limpopo didn't want to give her back…

Tokwe and Limpopo took over from Adine surrounding little miss Sunshine with love care and protection but she is still happy to go back to the nursery and being spoiled by Stavros and Reply

Gorgeous double rainbow! Heralding the arrival of the much anticipated rains! Good news. That was a sweet moment with Khanyisa and Limpopo at the fence, especially from 3:15 when Khanyisa started walking backwards around Limpopo. Good to hear she's gaining weight again. And she does look huge in the nursery now! Sweet little greeting with dear Nungu ❤🐘❤

Watching elephant videos I've learnt elephants have tusk size sweet tooths.
Khanyisa is a baby, so her tusks are still small, but sweet tooths are fully developped.
Ahhh it's was like she didn't quite want to leave the nursery so soon 💔 but that little hello to her friend was so cute , and Lammie just missing out as little pinkie followed the treats poor Lammie ,maybe next time 😊 ps so glad you're putting cameras in the homestead, can't wait to see the footage , thanks x

It is great to hear that Khanyisa is handling the tranfer to the herd so well :) The herd sure likes having her there :) They seem all the more protective than before if that's possible. Now the bush is coming to life again and the sky is lit with rainbows so things are beautiful for our herd and for all you hard working caring people (two-legged herd members ) . No, we generally just weigh her ❤ elephants are constantly eating whether its grazing, receiving milk or even bana grass.

Wow! Khanyisa weighing 1607.17 pounds in US weight. She's growing so fast. I feel bad she lost weight in her transition over to family. But, I guess that's to be expected. ❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
