Wow. What a fascinating combination: I liked this song back in the 1990s and am very glad coming across it again. I like Karl May´s novels since I discovered them as a girl too tall and too curious to be a "good girl", I love (most of) the film versions (those containing Mr Shatterhand or Kara Ben Nemsi), I adore Lex Barker, and now I am mourning Pierre Brice. May this be a memorial to all of them. The Spirit of the Hawk is sacred to the Native Americans, indeed, like every part of Nature. Pierre filled HIS role, chief Winnetou, with life for us and developed it beyond the movies of the 1960s. He researched American Indians and integrated his and their ideas to later Winnetou stories in TV and theatre. Animals and their power are essential: In one miniseries, he is accompanied by a wolf and at the North German open-air theatre in 1990 by an eagle (Ko-intay, Fiery Eye) and in 1991 by Charly the bear cub (which happened to bite his hand in a rehearsal). And their horses are family to Winnetou and Shatterhand as they are to the Riders of Rohan and Aragorn - yes, I did notice user name and picture ;-) . Our heroes may be fictional, but in these stories, they fight for friendship and understanding, peaceful solutions and cooperation, overcoming differences in color, religion and language. Pierre had the time and the chance to transfer this to reality. This is what is of importance, and this is why I will most gratefully remember the author, the heroes and the actors.
Bei mir ist genauso. Ich drehe das Radio auf volle Lautstärke. „Spirit Of The Hawk“ war drei Wochen lang die Nummer 1 auf Ö3. Einfach super! Dass das Lied von den Rednex stammt, wusste ich nicht. Wahrscheinlich weil es untypisch ist. LG wie immer aus Wien 😁🇦🇹👍🦅
I Love the song and I dont know anything about Winntou but watching this vid his heartbreaking... a Native carrying a gun throughout the entire vid... Not a true depiction of the Native Spirit. In love & light
The native americans today,have a tough life on the reservations.no healthcare....no jobs and decent schools.....poverty,,,its a disgrace....we owe them respect.....we owe them everything.....this rich,wealthy country...shame on america
@TheSamurai110 yeah problem is that winnetou is fully fiction character as much real as old shatterhand aka karol may on wild west(who ironically never been there,lived by all his life only in germany and had complex of small hands:P but still was able to create so great story) and this video is more created under music by her than under real facts....geronimo,winnetou-two great symbols of native indians world...one real and one not...both worth of video like that:)
Well, Winnetou IS fictional, but you forgot one thing: these fictional character inspires people around the world, from the 1890s up to the present day. Can you do that too? (SCNR ;-)
The music is not Native & the scenes are a Hollywood fabrication. *CHRIST* The fucker never existed. Winnetou is a fictional Native American hero of several novels written in German by Karl May (1842-1912), one of the best selling German writers of all time.

aaaa, actor who played as Wimmetou is from Serbia!!!!
No, who played Winnetou in the original movies is Pierre Brice from France. You are thinking of Gojko Mitic.

Where's the girl ? There has to be a woman & a wolf. Send me that one please???
IS this wonderfull song from the movie?
No
Try Googling the name & you will find out Winntou never existed. He's a fictional character of a German novelist.

Yes, we know! But we still love books and movies about Winnetou.🥰🥰🥰

Hollywood did not do anything for these movies. All were West German productions and filmed in former Yugoslavia.
@cepen15
