Literally no one cares how much power is drawn from a desktop CPU, if you were talking about mobile chips you would have an argument. The only reason power is constantly bought up is the levels of desperation AMD fanboi's have to stoop to find specs that are competitive.

what are your thoughts on the asus rog z790 a gaming motherboard for intel 14th gen? I just purchased the new one. Building an all white build and it was the only white one they offered besides the formula, which I thought was overkill.
What liquid cooler would you recommend? You mentioned maybe the 360 cooler might not have been enough for the 14900k. I understand you cant pin point that exactly, but I value your opinion. Just purchased a 4090 and 14900k and I was gonna get the NZXT Kraken Elite 360 cooler. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!

As someone who built their first one yesterday, I’d recommend just making sure if you get the same brand fans. The kraken from what I can tell is basically top of the line with a few others. I accidentally got lian li fans and a Corsair aio. The problem I had was my mobo had only 2 usb 2.0 internal headers. The aio has an lcd which plugged into one of the usb headers and then the commander to control the fans/rgb also plugged into one. So then your left with another set of fans whose commander will have nowhere to plug in. They do make expansions which you can use to add another header or just get the same brand in the first place lol.

      @luukherfst1209 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

1000 watt will be fine even if you overclock both the cpu and gpu. Just don't heavily overclock both, like a 20 to 25% overclock because you might need 1200 wat and a extremely, insanely beefy cpu cooler for that. 4090 cooler is already completely nuts. And the cooler is already in the graphics card itself when you buy it. In short, just don't overclock beyond 20 to 25% and 1000 watts will be enough. Your psu would have around 90% load, which is totally fine and normal.

Was wondering if this pc build is worth for 4k dollars (This is based on EU prices, which do tend to be higher than in the US, and full price, so with no discounts):
CPU: Intel Core i9-13900KF 3 GHz 24-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB 78.02 CFM Liquid
Motherboard: MSI MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI ATX LGA1700
    RAM: TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive x2
GPU: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24 GB Video Card
Case: NZXT H9 Flow ATX Mid Tower
PSU: SeaSonic PRIME TX-1000 1000 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX
    Fans: Corsair LL120 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack x2
    Corsair LL140 51.5 CFM 140 mm Fan
    Extra: RGB Cable extensions
This would be my first ever build, but not sure if I could make improvements. I'm going for 1440 gaming for more competitive games (like Apex) and 4k gaming for singleplayers and other non-competitive games (like Elden Ring/ Cyberpunk). I'll have a 1440 monitor and a 4k monitor.

Solid build, Not sure about 4K, but it's nice. Air cooled 12900KF with a TR Phantom Spirit 120. Have a 7900XTX (Merc one) and it's great card. You're probably spending a lot on case and fans, though I'm not sure if you want to substitute there cheaper case/fans or just go for it. 7900XTX is huge, mine did fit in an existing case but the size of the larger cards limits the case selection also.

@@dianaalyssa8726 Tyvm for the feedback. ^^
Case and fans is mostly for looks and how it fits + airflow seemed nice. xD
I used pcpartpicker for compatibility and made sure to check the Case and GPU's dimensions to make sure it fits.
$4k is my budget so almost got me there, slightly less. Hopefully there are discounts that can make it cheaper, but will see. :)
Not sure how accurate benchmarks and fps calculators are, but it seemed enough for most singleplayer games at 4k, although not at ultra settings. But High/Medium seems good enough to hit above 80fps.

HOW INTEL STOLE $285 from me? I bought an open box Core i9 from the largest vendor in the US and maybe the world. The CPU did not work so I sent it to Intel for warranty repair or replace because the model itself was less than a year old so it must be under warranty. Open box and demo units are treated like new by manufacturers regarding warranty. Intel told me that the CPU was not genuine and refused to return it. The vendor said they will refund me if I send the CPU back. Intel refused. So Intel, the crook, & the vendor profited and the victim paid the price.
Later I found out that CPU lids can be swapped as long as they are the same socket. So if you have a dead Celeron lid swapped with a new i9 lid, then return the dead Celeron for an i9 refund and keep the i9 CPU. That is a serious design flaw that Intel should pay for not the victims. Intel have not changed the flawed design on their latest models.

Cache has no use or meaning when gaming, nor core count, it's been established that speed is still KING, which Intel is ridiculously good at it, you overclock any of them pass 5.0GHz, and it's better at gaming than the mediocre competition. Needless to say that with an Intel, you can use high Vc, and no issues, just keeping it cool, just keeping it cool!!! My 12600K, 5.2GHz for two years now.....or 5.1? Something like that.

It depends on the end-use, though. Gaming? Not so different from the 13700K. Productivity? There is "some" performance boost in general thanks to the extra e-cores, at the cost of higher power consumption, but unless you're trying to maximize your workflow, the 13700K is still a decent option.

The 14th gen cpu's are a joke and are not even worth noticing their existance. The new motherboards have some nice and interesting new tech which I always love to see. Idk how Asus boards don't have 65watt to 100watt USB-C fast charging considering a lot of their products do but I guess they will on next years models? I mean Asus rog strix product buyers generally stick to buying only Asus rog strix stuff so they will likely own the rog phones or the rog Ally and will need 65+ watt fast charging right? idk thoughts
