There are 2 types of vacuum advance adjustable canisters. One of them adjusts the rate at which the advance comes in. It will always give 20° advance no matter how much you turn the adjuster which is when you need the limiter plate you have shown. The other type of Canister adjusts how much timing you want the canister to give. Accel aftermarket cans are this way. With that canister you do not need the limiter plate. A lot of people don't know there are 2 types of vacuum canisters. When hooked up to ported vacuum the rate adjustable one is preferred I believe and with manifold vacuum the timing adjustable (Accel) is preferred. Good video though keep up the good work.
Just bought the Jegs HEI distributor and an MSD Vacuum Advance Stop Plate for my 66 Impala crate engine. I've had issues with both an MSD Street Fire distributor failing and way too much vacuum advance, like 52 degrees total. Was hoping your limiter plate was the MSD version but it looks different. Also, not sure what brand your distributor is, but with the JEGS, which is probably made by MSD anyway, in the instructions when you put your allen (hex) wrench in to adjust the advance it is the opposite of what you said. Counter-clockwise increases the advance, clockwise reduces the advance. So tightening it, less timing, loosening, more timing. Also could be that the JEGS version, the Summit version, and the MSD Streetfire are all made in China. Just letting people know.
That kit works, an alot of people just do not now how to tune with that limiter kit. But alot of mid range street can have alot of vacuum, so when they goto time it will show way to much advance, the limiter kit pulls timing out
When you run after market intake manifold an headers and a big street cam and also high compression pistons your timing needs to be looked at differently...✌

When you plugged the hose with a golf tee you forgot to cap the carb where you pulled that hose from.

Only if your engine os completly stock this will work
The distributor we get now are made in Mexico an China and they are not the same, your old distributor is probably the OG one that came with the car
Those limiter kits are hard to find and alot of people don't know that they need it,I seen to many guys get jammed up on how to time there engines
