We are truly on the verge of a new golden age in sports car racing. So many manufacturers in the new joint prototype category of IMSA and the WEC. So exciting!
Maybe, or maybe as it happened in many other motorsports categories, the entrance of so many car manufacturers , will ruin the series for ever. Asking constantly to change the rules because, you know, if we loose our sales will go down together with our reputation and this is unacceptable. If we loose we are going to retire from the sport. If this decision is taken we will appeal to a real court and so on. I have lived enough to see this pattern repeated over and over and over and over........ . I feel the excitement but is not the 60's anymore. Look what happened in rallies, F1, Sport GT, not to mention DTM.
@@satanswolf Maybe. But the real problem I see is the LMH manufacturers wanting to always have an advantage over the LMDh cars. Simply because their programs are much more expensive and they want a reward for investing more money into prototype car racing than others. So, either LMH will disappear over time or big names like Porsche or BMW will provide cars only for customers in the future but not run own factory teams.
Update (as of 12 October 2022, please CMIIW as i'm probably missed some news over the recent times, especially on IMSA) 1:25 Nyck De Vries almost certainly won't drive for Toyota, as he had signed with Alpha Tauri F1 (he could probably pulled a one-off at Le Mans) 5:10 mate, let alone IMSA, i personally doubt their chance to do a full time campaign in WEC next year 5:44 James Rossiter won't race with Peugeot, as he was appointed for a position in Maserati FE team. Nico Muller is the most likely replacement for him. 6:34 it's quite likely that the Ferrari LMH will bear the name of Ferrari FM22, as it was used on Ferrari teaser. There's no official announcement on driver's lineup yet. (Edit : Ferrari have just released the name and livery on 30th October. It's Ferrari 499P Hypercar, and IT'S BEAUTIFUL.) No major updates whatsoever from ByKolles and Isotta Fraschini. 26:22 Alexander Sims have jumped ship to Cadillac with Action Express.
Excellent comment mate! It's awesome to see viewers putting the time in to write a proper update. I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for tuning in!
Thank you for this amazing video, I Washington aleeady aware of almost every entry, but it’s always good to see this Huge list of competitors, After a long dark age in WEC.
This video is so interesting. I’ve liked Gr.C or Prototype cars and endurance races since I was a child. I’ m looking forward to line up Various manufacturers cars in grid.
The one i've been very interested in since it was written about by Dailysportscar and most curious about is the Isotta Fraschini entry, i can't wait to learn more about their plans!!
Great video as always, certainly going to be a circus of teams and cars, still sad they are not real road based Hypercars, instead a formula based around cost and branding but it is better than having Toyota lap around with an LMP1 on their own.
Awesome video mate, do a part 2 in 6 months when maybe Nissan, Lotus and perhaps a few others announce programs. For your next video, GT3! New cars and evo's from almost every factory, get on it son!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And updated version may be a little difficult as the original video took over a month and a half to make. But if a viable opportunity presents itself I might have to. Thanks for tuning in!
I mean, in fairness, it was a more than a long shot, I can't say I'm surprised. Also, I'll admit I just had a small fanboy moment after I read who this comment was from. I must say it's really an honour! Welcome to the channel my friend! I hope you enjoyed the video (despite the inaccuracies of my speculation). I'd love to hear just how wrong I was if you'd be open to chatting about it further on another social media platform. If nothing else, I'd still love to chat with you anyway. Again, thank you so much for tuning in and keep up the awesome work!
@@triplecrownracing Always happy to talk about anything sportscars My immediate response here would be this - the format of the video is very useful indeed to anyone not following the news day by day - the ONLY area it falls down is in drifting into speculation
Thank you! I really appreciate that. And that has definitely given me something to think about for my future videos. Once again, thanks for tuning in and welcome to the channel!
This Video is old, the Cadillac 5.5 V8 has been confirmed to be a Cadillac V8 designed in-house, but according to insiders the block is that of the LT-6, but unlike the Flat-Crank LT-6, the Cadillac 5.5 V8 has a cross-plane and a different firing order.
Believe me, I'd absolutely love to. However, unfortunately, life is kind of getting in the way given my university and work commitments. But don't worry, I absolutely have not forgotten about this channel. I'll be back with more sportscar content as soon as I can! Thanks for sticking around mate.
Very Nice video, i really enjoyed all that information I have bin an Audi fan in many years now, and i am very sorry to here that they have, kind of stopped the production of the LMDH program. Butt do you know more about that, is it said or is it official that they won’t do a LMDH program, i’d really like to know.
Interesting! I wished I hadn't missed that. We tried pretty hard to make sure we covered all the basis but I guess the nature of international sportscar racing means that some news and information might slip through the cracks. Thanks for letting me know and thanks for tuning in!
There is no Chance that the Mercedes F1 Engine will make it, just because of the regulations for Hypercars. the Merc engine has about 1000Hp, that's nearly 350 over the Limit for Hypercars and is cost way too much for a small Privet Team, if it's true that they will use a production Engine I would say they use a Porsche flat 6 Turbo. The Turbo engine has about 650Hp that pretty close to the 670 Limit for Hypercars and with a little Chip Tuning there will be easy 670 or 680 Hp
That's not a bad shout actually. Although it would maybe be a little strange to have two varieties of Porsche engine on the grid from two different manufacturers. We'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for tuning in!
Yes but for a tiny manufacturer that no one's ever heard of selling niche sportscars it's easier said than done. Even building them is probably fairly difficult let alone selling them. Thanks for tuning in btw!
I dunno but Isotta's program reeks of scam... They said they'd be ready as early as 2023, but developing a hypercar takes more than mere months. Also there's no info on who's the leader of the team/project AFAIK. Either they're good at keeping people in the dark about their ongoing project or it's just another hype bait.
Apparently the guys at DailySportscar know stuff but the information is yet to be revealed. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Thank you so much for tuning in!
The ruleset is an interesting one. While these are a little outdated, I've made two videos that go in-depth on the nature of both LMH and LMDh. I hope this helps and thanks for tuning in!: LMH: th-cam.com/video/E-dWr8VUm0M/w-d-xo.html LMDh: th-cam.com/video/mZSOcrJ56Wg/w-d-xo.html
Hypercars; no other racing series was born among so much hype and has delivered so little. I'll believe it when I see it... and so far I only see Toyota and one unsuccessful attempt by Peugeot. (The Alpine is a glorified LMP2 and Glickenhaus is simply not a professional team)

Will do! Thank you so much for tuning in! Means a lot.
Hypercar and LMDh program! The best ever!😍😍❤️❤️❤️🔥

Yeah, the whole idea of road based Hypercars ended up being all hype. I'm still very excited though. Thanks for tuning in!

Nissan and lotus won't join
I would love to Hans Joachim Stuck drive one of the Porsche or BMW at least once competitively and hopefully at le mans
Great Video, but this would not be the first Lamborghini prototype racecar. The Countach QVX raced back in the Group C days.
Love the video, would also love an updated one... As I am watching this in December 22' and old milk is nasty af 🤣🙏
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And updated version may be a little difficult as the original video took over a month and a half to make. But if a viable opportunity presents itself I might have to. Thanks for tuning in!
The 5.5l v8 is a new engine, not the current DPi motor
Let's not forget that for some reason Colton Herta is a BMW driver... good for them cause he is mad quick
Sadly chaps you are entirely incorrect ref the Isotta-Fraschini engine and driver!

Didn't Cadillac already confirm (or at least hint at) that the engine is brand new, and has never raced in any form before

Happy to be of service. I'm glad you learned something. Thanks for tuning in!
Isotta, maybe Audi or Mercedes 3.0 V6 engine.
Possible pilots, Montoya and son and some Italian.
Very Nice video, i really enjoyed all that information

Yeah unfortunately the Audi program seems to be dead in the water. But I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for tuning in!
Great video
Thank you very much and thanks for tuning in!
Solid video, thanks! A small nitpick: Fraschini is pronounced fraskini.
I'll try and remember that for next time. Thanks for tuning in!
one note: Peugeot said they'll also sell customer cars

my favorite hypercar is porche 919 hybrid
well its kinda retireded

Acura just showed off their car without the camo.
They did. And it's certainly a familiar shape. Unfortunately this video went up before I could talk about them. Thanks for tuning in btw!
Selling 2500 cars sounds like something that can be done in less than two weeks.
Yes but for a tiny manufacturer that no one's ever heard of selling niche sportscars it's easier said than done. Even building them is probably fairly difficult let alone selling them. Thanks for tuning in btw!

Ford returns when⁉️😳
Bruh what do you mean when will Ford return? Where on Earth have you been? Man disappeared off the face of the Earth.
@@triplecrownracing spectating from a far away land. Maybe i was hiding in that BMW Hypercar grill😳
The driver cud be Seb Vettel
It's a long shot, but then again, what right do I have to say it's impossible. Never say never.
