Bicarbonate is to enhance renal elimination of the salicylate, not necessarily to directly treat the acidosis. Bicarb to treat metabolic acidosis across the board has very middling evidence/efficacy. In toxicology, bicarb is titrated by drip (and a couple of amps) to gain a therapeutic goal >7.5 urine pH, aka urine alkalinization, QRS widening toxidromes treated with serum alkalinization. Hemodialysis is the goto for very severe cases.
yeah... like there's a kink practice for a few very specific people (me included) that like to play with irritants. but you need to know what you are doing, what substances are involved & the determined safe levels. then you gonna have to understand that any mucous membranes are far more permeable to any substances and really space things out when you have stuff like camphor involved which in too high doses is REALLY BAD for your liver (bit like alcohol ^^) essential oils are also really strong irritants so much they can cause chemical burns and while discomfort is one part of the fun, it's not supposed to damage your body so don't. also do small test on the inside of your arm bc using a lot of something is really not the right time to find out you're allergic

O M G. within an hour after it got warmer outside the soles of my shoes got warmer and the menthol or whatever it is got warmer and warmer and then HOT and the UNTOLERABLE warmth. It didn't burn me it was just the sensation of burning.... I ended buying a cheap pair of flip flops and climbed up onto the counter tops and had my feet in a couple of the casino bathroom sinks washing my feet repeatedly along our journey.... and trashing my $100+ Nike tennis shoes. At one point I made my way into a few of the THEN accessible water fountains outside at Caesars Palace and soaked my feet there too. LIVE AND LEARN and never used Bengay ever again. E V E R.
Yeah I've made the mistake of applying Bengay after hot showers a couple of times. It's rough. Although sometimes the muscle pain was severe enough that it was a welcome distraction.
When I was young, I put Bengay on my calf muscles and proceeded to take a shower. I rubbed it everywhere, by accident. Screw the medical jargon, this was terrible enough. Make sure your affected area is dry before showering.

Im just here because I have salicylates intolerance and keeps with all kinds of symptoms. Everytime I go to the ER no one know whats wrongs. My tests are always "normal". I get fluids and go home. Thank you.🙏🏾
And then he ate that leftover noodles and ended up being a quad amputee🥲…
I don’t like methyl salicylate’s smell, that overly minty esk temperature confusion grosses me out.
I recall my professor saying along the lines of: you must know your physiology if you want to know how to deal with diseases. You seem to know your physiology well based on these videos, and that's cool!
wheels are spinning but they ain't touching the ground sounds like half the people I used to work with

He’s Chinese. You’d hope he would be able to say it right.

Another interesting and informative video. I’m familiar with this stuff as “Amish Origins”and “Unkers Therapeutic Rub”. All the same ingredients.
I liked this, thanks for taking the time.
Are there any cases of salycilate poisoning from bee venom or stinging nettles?
This dude looks like in his 20s and went on to talk about pre internet era lol
A man fell asleep first at a sleepover, this is what happened to his organs
yeah... like there's a kink practice for a few very specific people (me included) that like to play with irritants.
but you need to know what you are doing, what substances are involved & the determined safe levels. then you gonna have to understand that any mucous membranes are far more permeable to any substances and really space things out when you have stuff like camphor involved which in too high doses is REALLY BAD for your liver (bit like alcohol ^^)
essential oils are also really strong irritants so much they can cause chemical burns and while discomfort is one part of the fun, it's not supposed to damage your body so don't.
also do small test on the inside of your arm bc using a lot of something is really not the right time to find out you're allergic
I applied a pain relief cream to my full body because I have very dry skin and was out of lotion, washed it off after it started burning in some regions and it continued to smart for hours. That was essential oil based thankfully
You lost me by the 9th minute but I still loved it.
This is metal af.
I hate it when something blocks my cox

You're the best, Dr. Bernard! But platelet only has 2 syllables, not 3!
Who sees the smiling Cyclops cell in the illustration?

After a day of endless walking the STRIP of LV, I decided to be brilliant and take a bath then rub my feet with Bengay put on socks, crank the A/C and go to bed.
Worked GREAT..... UNTIL, the next day.
Of course the menthol or whatever it is absorbed into the skin of my feet and I changed socks and put on my walking shoes again for 2nd day of adventures. O M G. within an hour after it got warmer outside the soles of my shoes got warmer and the menthol or whatever it is got warmer and warmer and then HOT and the UNTOLERABLE warmth.
Me looking over at the tiger balm i have in my room😂
As someone who has accidentally transferred from my hand to my nether region and it SUCKED
This is some really good stuff!
When I was young, I put Bengay on my calf muscles and proceeded to take a shower. I rubbed it everywhere, by accident. Screw the medical jargon, this was terrible enough. Make sure your affected area is dry before showering.
"Bengay" 💀 What a great name for some cream [0:29]
