Bob signed my early Minimoog one year before he passed away here overseas. That modular can´t be in better hands than yours! Stay well my friend. I would like to buy a Midimini with R.A. Moog boards

Treasure. I always have a soft spot for vintage tech on the computing/gaming side. It is great to see what early music tech looks like. What is great about this Moog is it is still (over 50 years old) serviceable and useable today. That is great engineering.

Switched-on-Bach was the very first CD i bought! (In 1983 at the age of 15). I was already conversant in Kraftwerkish (on vinyl) and deep down the rabbit hole with Tangerine Dream (and Edgar Froese’s solo work). I got my first musical kiss by Beatles. So I guess its fair to say that the Moog Modular synth was part of my early aesthetic education, and I have a deep and abiding love for it. Very happy that you got your hands on this one, and I’m positive that you will be a a wonderful addition to the Moog Modular egregore! 🙏❤️🙏

    I'm interested in the following:
    - Any sonic difference between the 901 and 921 VCOs?
    - The behaviour of the CP3 mixers: how and when they distort, how this affects the response of the 904A LPF, and whether such waveshaping capability can be applied to DC signals (LFOs and envelopes)
    - the details of the 904A LPF: I'm curious about the "frequency range" selector, and I've heard that its resonance is a bit different from modern synths
    - how the filter coupling works
    - what is "not modular": the switches, the connections behind the panels, the trunk lines, etc.
    - What's inside the 905 reverb? I'm curious about the spring tank
Sorry it's a lot: I'm super curious, and looking forward to seeing the final video! (Thank you for reading this far)

I remember when synths were just becoming noticed by the general public. How often did I hear people say the sound was "synthetic" or fake. Ugh. My older brother bought a Walter Carlos album and I played it often. By the time I was old enough to make my own money, I started buying Carlos albums and built up a sizeable collection of Tangerine Dream records, Jean-Michel Jarre, Yellow Magic Orchestra records and more.
I've watched plenty of Robert Moog documentaries and thought he was such a cool guy. Unlike Les Paul who invented something he could play, Bob didn't play keyboards.
Others had to step in to give voice to his remarkable instrument. Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson and others did their part to bring the Moog into the mainstream.
I can't imagine a life without hearing Moog's creation. Isao Tomita's albums are an integral part of my musical edification. His mastery of electronic music in the classical realm is highly under-valued in Western society.
Your videos are truly a musical blessing to all humans that love good music. You help even lay people who have no technical background in music creation or electronics see the beauty of these expensive, complicated machines and how creative people like yourself find the soul and humanity in them. Thank you for all your efforts. This is one Canadian who truly enjoys everything you've posted here on TH-cam. Things only get better with each post!
