Thank you for a most interesting rundown. I am glad Marc Paul was listed, I also use his triple envelopes called P. I. N. Ingenious method. I have also downloaded The Mati envelope on your recommendation.... Regards.
I will definitely add Top 5 card effects of 2022 my list of requested reviews. Top 5 Marlo effects is extremely subjective. The main issue with any Top 5 list is to come up with criteria that weeds out 99% of other effects so you are just looking at the top tier products regarding that plot in magic. Top 5 Marlo effects could be any 5 Marlo effects. I will think on it!
@@UnbiasedMagicReviews Yeah i agree it is extremely subjective since he put so much material out,you can study just Marlo all life 😁.I was thinking more of your top 3 or 5 you have learned about in your career
Fantastic video, as always! With regards to the gene grant peek. I’ve seen the handling of a very famous mentalist on a series he did for penguin where he also uses a book test to add another dimension. Is this the updated handling you were referring to, or do I have to keep hunting? Thanks Dave
Love the review, as always. I feel like we may have talked about this before, but if you did you a wallet that you don’t have to reopen? What’s your personal favorite? I’m currently carrying Alan Wong’s Minimal wallet, the suc is great. But I’ve been drawn back to the Jaks by secret tannery. Of course, I’d have to buy it again 😅
Phenomenal review David! I was really hoping to win your unbiased envelope peek last summer! This review is very timely - I was just thinking this morning how much I like doing a travel destination DFB routine that starts with a number in an envelope. The method I've been using has been unreliable.
I like using Joao's POV Pad for this very reason. It much quicker and more invisible in a sense then an envelope peek. The writing is justified by saying you want everyone to know the number but if it is whispered you may hear, so write it down and show everyone so they can follow along.
A complete waste of money. You can make up the exact same gimmick for a few cents and even customize it to make it much more convincing. The basic principle is not Looch's and has been around for eons.
If you listen to the criteria I laid out you will understand why the classic Sharon Flap envelope was not considered. Listen to the criteria again. A top list of any magic/mentalism needs to have strict criteria or else it’s just a subjective list that doesn’t mean much.
@@UnbiasedMagicReviews Yup, there it is. Completely forgot about that. Thanks for the response. Shaxon is definitely my #1 method, but doesn't meet these specific criteria for this video.
Marvelous information. I own an Orphic, got it half price, and hear what you say about it. To be fair it has a couple of other features built in, but regards the mechanics of the peek you're spot on.
It's a clever wallet but hard to justify buying when I have so many other peek wallets that essentially work the same way. I think the Orphic wallet was WAY OVERHYPED. From a mentalism perspective I can't see how it is even close to as good as the Viper wallet which will allow you to get the peek without having to reopen the wallet. Not to mention you also have a SUC feature with the Viper and you can peek a folded billet/card which no other mainstream mentalism wallet can do right now.
@@UnbiasedMagicReviews I completely agree with you, David. As the owner of dozens and dozens of peek wallets--I'm a collector and try to be a "wallet historian"--the Viper Wallet is the best. (The Alias Wallet is similar but has the flaw that it "talks." And actually The Blind Man's Wallet will also give you a folded billet peek. It's cool, but the construction isn't good.) The Orphic Wallet was way overhyped--and overrated. The 1914's Shadow wallet is better, but then again, it's pretty much a copy of Ray Piatt's excellent Caper Case from the 1980s. I also like The Secret Tannery's Hi-Jak wallet, which is a beautifully made implementation of the classic Jaks Wallet and super deceptive. The Mati Envelope is absolutely fantastic; it'll fool not only lay people but also some of the sharpest magicians. As you said, the card is left with the spectator in an ungimmicked, sealed envelope. Folks will throw up their hands, with their only guess being that you must have x-ray vision. I've been using it and trumpeting it for years. If you can deal with the arts and crafts, there's nothing better.
Welcome! Glad to see that my magic reviews are helpful to you! Ctrl -C is poorly thought out and GROSSLY overpriced. There is no good motivation for the movements. There are MUCH better ways to use the old well-known principle behind Ctrl - C. Save your money!! =D
Hey David, excellent review. Thank your for your time and efforts as always. I would recommend looking into John Riggs Sneak Peek Envelope if you haven’t already. It’s one of my favorites and a best kept secret of his. Thank you for sharing and helping my wallet continue to remain empty. Haha
Brandon - I completely forgot about Rigg's Sneak Peek Envelope!! Thanks for pointing this out! It definitely deserves to be on the Top 5 List. The envelopes used are a little bit bigger in size than a pay envelope but still normal in every aspect. I have purchased almost everything John Rigg's has put out over the years. All his products are pure gold.
@@UnbiasedMagicReviews David, I should have known you knew about these. Yes, you are right about the sizing. Good call there in regards to your criteria. Yes, I fully agree that Riggs’ work is golden. I’m working on getting his Psychic Epiphanies series next. Let me know if you have any thoughts on those. Thanks again!
@@UnbiasedMagicReviews Riggs is a mad genius. A lot of people don't like/get his sense of humor and snarky attitude (I do), but I'm with you: Get everything he's put out. You won't regret it. :)
Again, a phenomenal review. David is wise enough to first set up the best standards for a great peek. That means he rules out a huge amount of the decent-or-worse stuff that plagues us when trying to order great mentalism effects. He also rightly points out that some people have a gift to make even medium quality effects to play big. But most importantly for all of us, he has the rare sense to exclude things like peeks that involve "reopening a wallet" (though not relevant to this video), which just seem to look fake. We should all sing Kumbaya together, hehe, that we have him to review and help us to pick out some great effects from the "jungle" of mentalism routines. I am very thankful again for another video. Great job.
Is there anything we can do to encourage giving away a few more of your peeks? (let the record show, I was the FIRST one to ask!)
It really depends on the interest level I see on my channel.

The PIN envelope is another good peek. The principle is awesome! I think it is a good version for stage mentalism.
Thanks .Again a great review. Thanks for the hint to the Phantini peek. I missed it
Sure thing!
Just another great review ! Love those, really helpful ! Thanks David !
Glad you enjoyed the review!
Your peek is awesome, it has become my goto envelope peek. So good. Thank you for another great top 5 review.
Glad to hear you are still enjoying it. It's almost not fair for spectators! =D

Jaks by secret tannery is awesome. My favorite is the Viper wallet using my Viperous peek to peek a folded card.
I don't know much about envelope peeks but another informative review.
Thanks Tony
Can you point me in the direction of the other Mentalist for Phantinis peek? Thanks
Just send me an email. Don't want to say it out in the open here. Thanks.

Thoughts on Looch's Master Peek?

Hi, can anyone recommend a safe site to download Lewis LeVal's reader's envelope? All the ones I've looked at all look a bit suspect.
