Nice amps! So hard to tell on the vid, but I have the Standel and the presence and punch is something else. Thanks for making this. That Standel is very light for it’s size, too.
The standel definitely has chime, most fenders do too. The 6G11 vibrolux happens to be a dark sounding circuit. The blackface vibrolux regains the chime.
So cool! I've never played through either one of those model amps! Thank you, Paul!

Love the Standel, wish my S24 solid state Standel sounded like that! Thanks much for posting.
Both fantastic but the Standel has a looser warmer broader tone with sparkley springyness( Technical textbook analogies) so to these ears it's "Hip"!
Chet Atkins and Merle Travis used standel.
They both have tremolo is what I meant to say at :40, not reverb
Standel sounds brighter, fender darker. I wouldn't have thought so.

@@1horton3mine is quite bright so it can vary
fenders of that era were stricken with wide tolerances for components, another brownface vibrolux made that same week might be brighter..
thanks! great video
What year is that tele?!
frankencaster
What speakers in these amps?
The standel has a Jensen Concert, silver frame 12"; the vibrolux has a Celestion greenback 12.
@@mea321recordlabelandstudio9 Thank You so much.
No conocía el Standel, suena un limpio muy definido con esos Bulbos El84
Ry cooder uses standel. That’s all you need to know
AND...WES MONTGOMERY & CHET ATKINS. THE STANDEL LEAVES THE FENDER IN THE DUST!!!!
Mark Knopfler uses the brown vibrolux!
