OMG! You are the first beauty youtuber to have the same or similar eyeshape as I do. I also have one eye that's a monolid and the other is the typical double. And my problem has to do more with eyeliner than eyeshadow. I think I have balancing the amount of eyeshadow down, it's just eyeliner is really difficult because it always smudges down. ALL THE TIME. It may be because I'm not placing the liner in the correct spot and that's why liner and shadow can end up on the bottom lid, but I'm finding that making both eyeliners the same shape difficult. I'm so glad that you showed up on my feed! 😊

Thank you for giving us confidence and providing other eye makeup options. I like how you said it’s easier to make an eye longer and sleeker. I wear too much shadow to create a round shape and need to try something different/embrace my eye shape.
Thanks for leaving such a thoughtful comment; I think when we have certain "unique" features we get drilled into an idea of what the appropriate makeup should look like but in the end it has to be something that enhances YOU. I've been told everything from wear MORE eyeshadow to drawing a fake crease and everything in between but only when I really started trying different looks, making mistakes then adjusting... that's when I finally found what works for me. Dealing with monolids is one issue, but having to try and balance both the monolid and double lid so that it levels with each other is also another difficulty... Please make a video on tips about how to make eyes look level!
+xSketchMyLife It's definitely on my "to-do" list. Off the top of my head I'd say: the placement of liner, false lashes and shadow placement make the most difference. I also avoid certain makeup styles that enhance the difference - no cut crease looks for me.
Great tips! I waited way too long before grooming my eyebrows as well and definitely agree they make so much difference. If I have no time, I never skip filling in my eyebrows :)

+Yvonne Balasico I think it really depends on what you're comfortable with to start. Don't feel pressured that you have to wear 10 things all at once, especially if you're not used to it. Makeup should never feel like a burden in your everyday life. I'd start with one thing/item I'd like to try, wear it for a while to see if it fits my lifestyle then gradually add on from there!

De La Luna I know it's hard but once I got that down (along with my love for lashes because mine are sparse) it really made the biggest difference. And the thing is eyeliner is so individual to your eye shape that it just takes some hard studying to figure out the minute differences to fit yours.
Funnily enough, even though I don't have monolids, I do have somewhat hooded lids, and I had already started doing what you do, in terms of blending shadow up to my socket area AND highlighting my center lid lol! I pretty much got there through trial and error, but this video shows me I am on the right track :-). Great insightful video, as always.
I know this is a really old video but I just found it and I have exactly the same, one eye has a crease and the other doesn't. I really hope you could like make a video with tips on how to make your eyes look even, because the techniques for monolids are different from those on 'western' eyes, but how do you do that if you have both??

+Jennifer Huynh Practice! And practice with different methods to see which is more comfortable for you. I do my liner from the "outside in" versus "inside to outside" (as most people would do) but it just depends on what gives you the best control. Good luck!

One more thing i would like to know is, the shape of my eyes are like thin and long, and i can see yours too (the monolid one), but you can do the makeup so it looks round and circle. +Kandy Ng It's not as easy to do that without "manipulating" the eyelid with false lashes or eyelid tape. I'm undecided if I can pull it off but will keep it in my thoughts.

I have nearly the exact eyelids as you do, only that my left eyelid crease is not as obvious and closer to my lash line. Must have been a big struggle for you to figure out suitable makeup techniques without doing double eyelid surgery (I don't want to myself). I am the one from alot of different eyes like you. Today i found you dear... I already try to higlight my center eyes with more glittery shadow. With the wing elyeliner. It work. My eyes look bigger. Can you please do a eyebrow plucking tutorial? I'm going into grade 9 and I think I want to start trying makeup but my brows are the typical extremely sparse Asian brows
When I started, I only plucked the extra hairs on my eyelid (yeah, didn't know they could grow there lol) but didn't go too much into shaping. I still don't since I don't have that much eyebrows so I shape them more by drawing them on rather than plucking.

i have the same eyes as yours wdyt about scotch? have you tried it? i heard that that thing could make double lid if you use it everyday can i ask what is the name of the eyeliner you used? and what about pencil liner? i've tried etude oh my liner but i didn't found it that great product... :)
+Livia Mei I'm not a fan of pencil liners because I find most of them smudge so over the years I've adopted liquid liners instead. Those that draw smoothly don't stay and those that stay are a pain to draw on. I'm pretty sure the one I used in the video is the Dollywink liquid liner. The Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil is the best one I've used to date for smudge proof so i use that for my waterline and filling in between my lashes.

+Eperna Tan Honestly, I rarely do shadow over eyelid tape because I only wear it on one eye and putting makeup over that eye with the tape really bothersome. I'm also curious on your goal of bigger.. depending on what you start with naturally, there's only so "big" you could go with makeup!

I have monolids. They "drops" over my lashes so they don't show. Any tips on how I can get my lashes to show, without fake lashes? (Sorry my bad english, I'm a 13 yrs-old girl from Norway ☺️)
+Emma Yanzi Nordrik It depends on how long your eyelashes are, if they are long enough you could try curling your lashes close to the base and then using a waterproof mascara to "hold" it up. Otherwise I might recommend double eyelid tape to "pull up" your eyelid so it doesn't droop and cover your lashes. I would try the lash curler and waterproof mascara first though.

My left eye became a monolid at age 11 and I was very self conscious about it over the years it would be double kid about 40% of the time and mono the other 60% long story short I realized in my twenties that if I slept on my right side I’d wake up with a double lid on my left eye and if I slept on my left side that left lid would be mono... so maybe try sleeping on the opposite side of where ur mono lid is for a few days and see what happens..? You are so pretty btw I’m just suggesting this because I know how much it used to bother me and yes I have been sleeping on my right side religiously for about 5 or more years LOL

i have the same eyes as yours wdyt about scotch? have you tried it? i heard that that thing could make double lid if you use it everyday can i ask what is the name of the eyeliner you used? and what about pencil liner? i've tried etude oh my liner but i didn't found it that great product... :)
+Livia Mei I'm not a fan of pencil liners because I find most of them smudge so over the years I've adopted liquid liners instead. Those that draw smoothly don't stay and those that stay are a pain to draw on. I'm pretty sure the one I used in the video is the Dollywink liquid liner. The Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil is the best one I've used to date for smudge proof so i use that for my waterline and filling in between my lashes.

hy, i'm new here at you channel, and i just want to ask, could you do a tutorial of putting on makeup with eyelids tape, I have monolid eyes, and it's very hard to make it bigger, besides lashes, I use the eyelids tape, but it still doesn't goes as big as much as I wanted, so could you do the tutorial ? :)
+Eperna Tan Honestly, I rarely do shadow over eyelid tape because I only wear it on one eye and putting makeup over that eye with the tape really bothersome. I'm also curious on your goal of bigger.. depending on what you start with naturally, there's only so "big" you could go with makeup!
Also, what do you do with the lower eyelid?
I have a lot of trouble with curling my eyelashes. When I go in with the eyelash curler it pinches my skin. 😞

I have monolids. They "drops" over my lashes so they don't show. Any tips on how I can get my lashes to show, without fake lashes? (Sorry my bad english, I'm a 13 yrs-old girl from Norway ☺️)
+Emma Yanzi Nordrik curl them really well, then apply waterproof mascara.
+Emma Yanzi Nordrik It depends on how long your eyelashes are, if they are long enough you could try curling your lashes close to the base and then using a waterproof mascara to "hold" it up. Otherwise I might recommend double eyelid tape to "pull up" your eyelid so it doesn't droop and cover your lashes. I would try the lash curler and waterproof mascara first though.

My left eye became a monolid at age 11 and I was very self conscious about it over the years it would be double kid about 40% of the time and mono the other 60% long story short I realized in my twenties that if I slept on my right side I’d wake up with a double lid on my left eye and if I slept on my left side that left lid would be mono... so maybe try sleeping on the opposite side of where ur mono lid is for a few days and see what happens..? You are so pretty btw I’m just suggesting this because I know how much it used to bother me and yes I have been sleeping on my right side religiously for about 5 or more years LOL

how do you get a crease on your Monolid eye after you put makeup on? Is that because of heavier lashes?
It's a combination of things; i have thinner eyelid/skin, the lashes i'm using, how i apply them etc.
