How much i miss my father....i wish i had him beside me watching this beautiful video...i remember him telling me a story about buying a Fiat 128 in the mid 70s' he went to Italy found the car that he wanted and after the payment a company of guzzis appeared....i remember his words...for one moment i was jelous the guys with the leathers...Thank you for your videos.Kostas Greece
@@nick949eldo happy i found your channel my friend i was planning for this summer to visit Italy and buying a Stelvio but with this virus situation things are complecated anyway.. i drove a Breva 850 and a California 1100 by accident last year and i have to say that the calmness and the smile that a Guzzi gives you is hard to be found in any other bikes.
I thank you so mich for your wonderful Videos. In 2018 I rode with my 2018 from San Francisco to New York before I took it to Switzerland. Unfortunarely I had bad luck with health since then and nearly lost my right leg. But I hope to bei back on the road once. Meanwhile I keep myself happy by watching your Stuff.
I know these things are made of metal and rubber and lots of synthetic stuff, and they couldn't possibly have souls or personalities, but when I saw the big cream beast lying on its side, I half expected you to shoot it . . . great video - Thanks, Nick
I quite enjoyed your montage, thank you very much. I am thinking about tackling the Trans Taiga and your account seems quite accurate. Very helpful and inspiring. I hope you two gentlemen enjoy many rides together!
Perusing ADVRider a couple days ago, someone mentioned planning a trip on the Trans-Taiga for this coming summer. Since then it's been a spiral of moto and cycling travel journals and articles; I'm transfixed. Even a bit fearful. I've been to some remote places, but not that remote. Simply amazing. Looks like you had a great time! Neat bikes!
Thanks Doug - yes, it was an interesting trip. The written report is on ADV if you dig enough (you may have found it already) - and also included it as a chapter in my Kindle Book "Beyond the Coffee Shop: Riding 1970's Moto Guzzi motorcycles in Northern Canada" available at Amazon.com/ca/co.uk etc.
This may come as a surprise, but if you look at a map you'll see that this isn't even northern Canada. That's how big this country is. Five years, later I hope you got the opportunity to ride there.
Wow - A year ago. Sorry I missed this question. Yes, the Eldo has no oil filter. People sweat over this but it's irrelevant. Just change the oil at 2-2500 mile intervals. Many of these bikes have gone many hundreds of thousands of miles with no oil filter.
Great soundtrack Nick, both the music and the Guzzi! 👍
Thanks Richard. You must be bored if you're back-tracking through my old videos (hahaha).

Thanks you for the kind words Kostas. Our parents are special, but we hold them as memories in our hearts.

Sorry I rode my 1974 Eldo from to...
Thanks for the kind comments. That was quite a trip. Sorry to hear about your health. Stay positive and with any luck you'll be riding again.
Love the soundtrack - especially when it was just your Guzzi motoring
Great music for this video. Love the facts at the end too. This is inspiring me to take some longer rides.
nice video, information given is a plus
“They’re very reliable, I knew it would break.” I really did LOL!

@@PerryCrawford-z2b the Eldorado, when it's running.
I want to go ride this area! There's some attraction I get from northern Canada.
