- Steve and Ronnie get competitive over attention and cuddles. They have different personalities and show their shenanigans in different ways. However, they both came from terrible situations and needed help from Jacobs Ridge Animal Sanctuary. When Julian and Rachael brought them in, they had no idea just how intelligent donkeys were. And slowly but surely Steve and Ronnie showed them just how amazing their breed is

Not necessarily so gentle. They have individual personalities. Some of them are little pricks. But none of them should ever be mis-treated.

And to think that it's okay to push an animal over for children's entertainment is beyond my comprehension 😮. What kind of example is that for the children????

Steve and Ronnie behave like little kids. Telling them to RESIST the urge is like warning a child not to touch the wet paint on a wall. You just know you'll return to find fingerprints. Mischievous but lovable!
Donkey's are like any other creature, they need love. I'm glad Steve and Ronnie are getting their much needed love.

In my personal experience, donkeys are very smart, have memories like the proverbial elephant, are easily offended, hold grudges, are very clever, and have a great sense of humor...much like humans! And if well-treated, are very loyal to their human friends. If you speak to them as if they were human, they show proof of an uncanny level of comprehension. Like all other animals, including humans, they should NEVER be mistreated, only loved. 🥰
