India is blessed with so many artists with so much diversity..
One thing to notice here is that they are playing along with verbal "taals" or rhythyms starting from 4:41. Every Indian instrument has its own range of verbal taals and rhythyms. Even if these musicians sit with other musicians with different instruments, they can still play in complete synchrony without knowing what the other musician might play next. That's the beauty of Indian music.

What's the best thing about Indian musical instruments? Most of the instruments that are played are played using only the two hands. There are no sticks, or other intermediate instruments influencing the use of the hand. That's what makes Indian instruments so different and unique from western instruments. Eg. - Tabla, Ghatam, Dholak, Sitar, Santoor to name a few.
Santoor uses sticks with soft tips, Tavels use a stick. Western Instruments also use only hands: Congas, Bongos, Djembes, Cajons, Claves, Bass, Guitar, Piano.
