    Coach Howard should not get any dislikes. His content provides the type of information every basketball player need to get better. Even though it's only 27, he doesn't deserve that disrespect

    Since I'm 5'9 and 13 years old, it's been hard for me to get on the next level of talent. But ever since I found your channel, my friends have been saying that I could be the best shooting guard in the school. My handles are the one of the best in school. And my defense is vicious.I've become a mini Russell Westbrook ( I can't shoot very well.)My mid-range shot is wet though.And I'm very efficient with my layups and I can finish with my left hand. I've watched your videos on shooting and they've helped. All I have to do is find a comfortable shot. If you haven't already done it, then can you make a video on how to get your hops up? I can already touch the rim but I can't dunk. Thanks Coach! -Malakai

      The Homie Yosh you'll grow, I was that when I was your age maybe smaller and I'm 16 and 6'1. Michael Jordan was 5'10 in his sophomore year and grew to 6'6 so don't worry about height, it will come just worry on becoming better, eating healthy and sleeping you will grow

      Howard Elite Basketball hey Howard i started playing basketbal recently and i have to dat that my handles aren't that great. But that's not the problem, the problem is that my balls always slips out of my hand when i'm dribbling. And it doesn't slips out of my hands from the beginning, but like after the fourt rep. Oh yeah and i also dribble with an old ball the grip is a little bit of. Do you have a solution for this or an explanation why this is happening? (people from the comment section are also free to answer this😀) Could it be possible that it has something to do with my hands?
      Greetings from Belgium

      Find a person, pass back and forth, pass for assists, pass for layups, etc.
      If you don't have anyone to pass to, pass into a wall using bounce passes and normal passes, chest and overhead.

  • @goofy955
    @goofy955 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Something else to help you have more control of the ball is to deflate it a bit more than it should be. This is so you push your arm harder when you dribble and it is harder to grip the ball. You can deflate the ball and bit and add two bags and practice dribbling like that often. As soon as you play a serious game with a air-filled ball with a good leather/rubber/etc grip, you will NOT lose control of the ball whatsoever ever. Before you play the game with the new bouncy (grippy) ball your not used to, you should dribble that ball and get used to it as your arms and body are used to pushing harder, you can move your arms more swiftly and quickly past your defenders.Take it from Kyrie.
    Nah but forreal, This is the best way to improve your dribbling instead of just remembering to pound the ball hard because in order to dribble with the deflated ball, you literally HAVE to bounce the ball hard to be able to even move with the ball because of how deflated the ball is, without enough power the ball will stop bouncing and you will have to pick it up, and restart. This is also better because you can bring this ball thats deflated and the two bags on it with you and your friends to all practice their dribbling just by playing a 1v1/2v2/3v3 etc. This is also better because you can just play normally and casually as you usually do-just with a deflated-bagged ball. Thank me in a month when you dribble at least two times better!

  • @FMcrow020

    Thanks a bunch, I did this for a week and even though I'm 6'1'' on my middle school basketball team i scored 12 more points just from dribbling and I play center! I usually don't get the ball out of the paint but our point guard traveled and I knew I had to step it up. When I got the ball I usually just pass to a guard but this game I was dribbling like a guard and finishing at the rim. Love your channel btw, keep doing what you do, it helps.

    • @scoop4321
      @scoop4321 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try dribbling moves with your eyes closed. You then have to do it by feel alone. You don't need to see the ball to dribble it. Also, avoid dribbling the ball too lightly, that is when you lose control of it. You need to keep your eyes up on the defender to "read" when you should do next: shoot, fake a shot, drive, fake a drive right and go left, etc.

    My high school coach was giving us these heavy balls for all drills! This was helping cuz after the heavy ball we were playing with normal balls and it was feeling easier... It was strange... It was like we were playing foam balls or something... But shooting was a problem cuz we were over throwing balls
