Dark's performance in games 1 and 2 is the future of 1v1. When his mechanical ability aligns with precision, it seems unstoppable. Daniel's adaptation was more than impressive, but it seems like game 5 pressure and tilt got the best of him. Amazing series.
Tilt could be a real problem for people in show matches against Dark. Every goal he scores on you is that flashy that the caster always watches it back. Every time you concede, you get clipped on, and you and thousands of twitch viewers watch it back again and again.
@@nwesterbeckmaster if you've been watching 1s at the highest level for the past 6 years, you'll notice a clear increase in 'aggression' and 'all in' plays because players are becoming more mechanical and can recover faster. Gone are the days of back flip shots to maintain position and not over commit. 4 years ago, going for an air dribble was considered a risk. Now players can continually go for wall to air dribbles with resets and double touches etc without the same level of risk. So yes, I'd say it is the future. The game is clearly moving towards more precise yet mechanical plays. In the first two games Dark playing at that speed, displaying those mechanics with a high level of precision and dominating arguably the best player in the game right now , it's obviously the future. Yeah, extremely impressive. I was impressed by the mental of Dark in this series, felt sure that he was doomed when it went the distance, didn't think he'd be able to snap back after it went 2-2. God damn. Really impressed at dark's movement and recoveries. He was able to play stupidly aggressive due to those extra zapdashes, even managing a save and a breakaway in game 5. The difference in mechanics in this series was clear. Reverse half flips, chain dashes, zap dashes, pogos, triple flip resets. If dark manages to bring his ground game up to par with the other greats, he will be truly unstoppable.
Crazy series - Dark just needs to focus on his consistency and he can easily be the best 1v1er in the world! The absolute tilt from Daniel though, 5 goals in 100 seconds is totally do-able in high level 1v1… would’ve liked to have seen him try and take it to a game 5 overtime, but oh well!
Yeah it's always a bit of a bummer to see such an early ff, especially on such a great series but I guess dark was to good on the day and managed to tilt Daniel out of this world.
Yes it is occasionally doable. But in that case it would be an easy 10+ loss. The kid was on fire and would pogo him to death if it continued. If you need 5 goals in a minute and a half you leave the door open. If you leave it against Dark... you will get dunked on.
I doubt anyone will read this but in the off chance somebody does, here goes my spiel on what I just witnessed (coming from someone who has been an avid fan and watcher of the RL 1v1 scene for years)….. Holy mother of God, that was arguably the greatest 1v1 series I’ve ever witnessed to date. Yes, I know this series only went to a bo5 and not a bo7, which alone, slightly invalidates it from being able to claim that title, and yes, I know other series out there (joreuz v appjack, okhalid v fairypeak, okhalid vs joreuz TWICE, etc.) exist, and can’t just be thrown aside all of a sudden for some almost-fluke, and highly unexpected series such as this one, but that’s exactly how unbelievably impressive this series was and ultimately the point I’m trying to make! First off, I have never seen Dark perform at the level he played at tonight and I’m still simply in shock after having just watched it. The thing that was so impressive was that he played the way he always plays, but he’s finally beginning to execute! As soon as Dark stepped on the 1s scene in public eye, people quickly took note of his kickoff game and mechanics because of how unique and groundbreaking they were. The problem though, was that even with these new additions and alterations to the RL meta, that Dark was starting to impose, other top 1v1ers would still beat him because he would make mistakes that were easily counterable and he just didn’t quite have the same level of game sense down yet. Personally I believe that’s mainly due to his age, and that’s something time will only help him with. However, Dark has been playing long enough now, using his strategy the whole way, that it’s finally beginning to pay off and that’s what we saw tonight when he beat Daniel, the guy basically everyone who follows top 1v1 Rocket League knows is currently top 2. I truly believe Dark’s just cracking the surface and I believe this kid’s got the highest ceiling potential in the world right now. This series provided gameplay I’ve never seen before. From the level of competitiveness, and speed, and accuracy, to the decision making, the car and ball control, and everything in between, it was bar none. One other thing I’d like to touch on, that delves deeper into the belief of mine that this is arguably the greatest 1v1 series that has ever been played, is that EVEN THOUGH Dark absolutely shook the world in the first two games of the series, Daniel came back and ascended to a level EVEN HIGHER than Dark in the next two games, as he shut him down and made him look like a completely new player. He showed why he’s number 2 and Dark still has a ways to go. Game 5 started off close and I thought Daniel would surely seal the deal but kudos to Dark for sticking to his guns and coming out on top. Even though I was rooting for Daniel (home country reppin and errthang), I’m extremely proud of both of them and impressed that Dark won. In conclusion, I wouldn’t quite say this is the greatest 1v1 series of all time, as it was bo5 and not bo7, there are a handful of other series out there that could be argued as better, and the fact that Daniel started making errors in the 5th game that felt easily avoidable (ie his unnecessary kickoff fakes, and lackluster challenges) are what did it in for me. @@sheriff2.0I got the job done bro
For me this has been the best rocket league I've ever watched.
This series is actually insane
Fucking legendary moment right here… what an exciting rivalry for fututee
So cute when daniel goes for an air dribble bump
dark's movement really improved from like 2 or 3 showmatches ago or something
Daniel is a prime example of getting the GG curse when you don’t say it after a game
I need to see Dark(?) in RLCS right now 😩
honestly hes actually not that good, i could beat him in a 1v1
@@jjhoffy never heard of you 🙊
@@jjhoffy Stop the cap lmaooo
@@uncensored393 Ik, im not very known but im atleast top 25

Yuhh

Hero
I turned this on so I could eat with something in the background and I forgot I had food until the video ended
What a Masterpiece from Players and the Caster afterall
Daniel in games 1 and 2 vs his next games is a "When you give your older brother the controller" moment😂 it didnt even look like dan playing tbh now that i rewatch
can we PLEASE talk about that recovery from dark at 36:24!? i swear he plays the game in slow motion
He practices his mechanics in slow motion 😂
@@heart49 ik
When Dark is coming towards you bossfight music starts playing.
Bro the commentator
Was riding 😂😂
most of the peoe in twitch chat seemed to have never seen Dark before. Must’ve been exciting for them!
What’s the boost Darks using in this video? I’ve been trying to find out for a while now.
ONE OF THE BEST GAME SOF ALL TIME NGL
28:22 Caniel
One of the series i’ve ever seen! 🔥🙌
im sure there is going to be a war for dark when he gets old enough to play competitively
For sure. Wonder if he'll go to Falcons, Rule One, or build a new roster around himself. If he turns 15 around the same time Nwpo's ban runs out 👀
@@VoidLantadd Actually I think Dark will be eligible in Spring split, so before Nwpo, but I'm not sure.
I think there is a very real chance SA forms a super team and starts the next mini dynasty. I could see them going on a multi major run.
I feel like, even though they are both mechanical, their playstyles are different and you can see Daniel's camera settings are close up compared to Dark's which is far away
Why does Daniel not take a different angle on the kickoffs if Dark is just going to sit back and do a little diagonal flip? That’s what I do in plat 3 lobby’s and it works 80% of the time. Just a thought, I don’t know 🤷♂️
The kid came unprepared as a wandering rocket. But it was enough. Even to tilt Daniel.
He is still searching for his limits, but has already changed 1v1.
Wanna see him in a year or two.
Dude, the only explanation for this is that darks mechanical capabilities use too much fringer muscle, so he gets crampy after a while
He is so freaking scary to play against when he's peaking
is this Daniel's first time ever playing Dark?
