I sent a message at like 9:00 PM. on a Wednesday night, and I got a call from D4S the next day before noon. One thing I did not do was go and start saying stuff on social media, and two, I was always polite and understanding about everything. I definitely got the same in return. I actually felt like Jonathan himself went above and beyond for me. And I am just an average basshead. ❤
I bought a JP95 back earlier this year. Just wanted to let you know. I have never had any issue with it at all. I run it pretty much maxed out for at least 2 hours avg a day. I have it pushing a Gately - Alpha 8" V2 Subwoofer wired down to 1 ohm, 2 JL Audio 6.5 in front door and 2 Skar Audio 5.6 in back doors. I have never had any issue with amp overheating or anything. Setup in a 2015 Honda Fit, with 1/0 Amp wiring Kit, and 10-12 ga speaker wires. Would buy again, and will buy another Down4Sound amp once I upgrade. This is the downfall to high power amps. I mean in the 2500 to 5000 watt range. People going bigger than that understand what it takes but people in that range a lot of times just don't. Honestly a 1500 RMS subwoofer builld is plenty for the majority of people out there if done right. You can do that with a good battery, a secondary battery preferably, Big 3 upgrade and common sense. Anything after that for sure gonna need a secondary battery preferably a lithium bank and after 2500 RMS you're for sure gonna need a bigger alt and some serious money in wire just to charge your power bank. It blows my mind seeing people buying 5kw amps and thinking thier factory alt and an extra battery is gonna do it. I've seen in person a kid with a 2500 watt skar amp running on 2 4 gauge wires. He wonders why it constantly protects and his car and amp are messing up, come on skippy.
Im running a JP13 in my truck, pushing just two kicker L7S 8s. I did the big 3 upgrade with all 2/0 Temco wire, a larger AGM battery(from h6 to h7), and an Ioxus UltraCap in the 2nd battery location. Guy at work said how good it sounded and hard ot hot, and said how he regretted getting the Skat 3500w amo because it was junk. I looked at his setup, and it was just a single 4ga wire ran off the battery to the trunk, and then a 4ga ground to a selftapper in a pinch weld in the trunk. When i told him he probably needs to spend another $200 on wire and another $300 or so on batteries or Ultracap, he sounded offended.

I’ve had no issues with D4S. Products or service. JP, when will the Hexicone 6.5 mids be in stock? I need 2 sets to finish a build. Customer heard mine and that’s all he wants. Thanks for the videos.
Yeah, I never understood all the bashing and hate Down4Sound gets online. I run some of their products in my KL Cherokee. (4 CFXt6x9s, MM100.4, LTO 6.0, wiring, fuses.) I LOVE their products. No issues WHATSOEVER! Plus their shipping is SUPER FAST. Had I not just bought a monoblock amp and new subs, I’d be doing an all Down4Sound build!
Sonic Electronix has not honored a lot of warranty stuff in its run. Once again if you're not set up to handle what you're buying why should it be the manufacturers fault. They put warning on the listings and in and on the boxes for any of those larger amps. A bad install is not the company's fault.
Does the warranty kick in when you buy it or when it's installed? Also what if they were never installed and there is a new revision of the amplifier can we send the uninstalled ones back for the new revision?
I would ask them directly. You might be able to pay a slight upgrade charge or something along those lines but that's like asking if Honda is gonna give you a new car Next year if you hadn't driven your old one and not try to charge you anything for doing it. That's kind of a common sense type thing.
Unfortunately I only see bass head installs with very poor installs. Very very rare to see it in the SQ world. I used to be a bass head now I’m into SQ. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy Bass. I have two 12’s in back and one 10 in front. Yes yes, many SPL installs are done correctly. I know.
Correct me if I’m wrong JP, weren’t you guys sending standoffs with your amps. I’ve seen this on Bid D Wiz when he did the unpacking. These things are cheap that every company that sell big amps should include these definitely. Push and pull fans are another thing that’s important imo 💪
I know ill take heat for even saying this but, this is one of the reasons our shop doesnt sell any entry level price point equipment. We do not have the time to be babysitting customers that are clueless, so we have products with enough margin to know the company behind it will back us up and remain profitable. There is certainly a place for lower priced gear, I'm just thankful the internet fullfils that void.
D4S warranty is a joke anyway. I bought the JP77 amongst alot of other equipment. Let me tell you my personal experience. The amp worked great for about 3 months. I soon noticed it was losing power on the sub channel. No big deal since it's under warranty so I made a claim. Sent the amp in and got a text from the tech about 4 weeks later. Explained he couldn't find the problem, so I explained it to him over text. He responded oh I think I see the problem, thanks! It took 10 weeks total to get the amp back. Once I took it out of the box it was damaged. As if they dropped it and bend the corners. I sent pictures back to D4S and got no response. Icing on the cake is they didn't fix it. Now I have to resort to only using 6 channels on the amp with a separate sub amp for my DC level 5 12. Beware that if your purchase isn't perfect, you may be sol
Jp has never been wrong about anything. Just by posting that comment 99.9% of bassheads hate your guts. Dudes just eat up jp's crybaby rants like it's audio gospel.
I wish I can keep my Amos looking like new but in the installation process it was rubbing on the seat 😢 but quality it’s up lol 🤪 it still does what it’s suppose too
Huge supporter but this 2 month wait was drastic for a warranty. There was a lack of communication although waiting patiently. This is no hate comment because I still support but the turn around time needs better improvement. I had a project on pause for 2 months due to a defective product which obviously happens no fault there but the turn aroundis drastic.
It's BS. D4S has great customers service. You just have to have common sense when dealing with any company. He has not been as successful as he is from treating his customers bad.
Double box, bubble wrap, and a few rolls of packing tape.... when I send an amp I want it to take 20 minutes to unpack. I feel bad for whoever had to unpack my salt8. That baby way layered up lol
I bought a jp63 it was great for 4 months so i bought more speakers and another jp63 to strap to my other one when i got the amp brand new i hooked it up just like my other amp and i strapped them i been doing car audio for years and i know how to strap amps it not only blew the new one but it took the other one with it i sent them back in and had to pay for the one that wasnt under warranty even know it wasnt my fault and got accised of me doing aomething wrong i get the amps back and it dont even work when i get it back the second time after the third time sending it in i had to fight with them to get them to send me another amp i still own these amps and they are very good amps as long as you do get a good one just was agrivated on how the treated me after spending about 7k with them and the price i paid i shouldnt of had to wait almost 6 months to play something or had to pay for my amp getting burn from a new amp if i could do it over i would of went with something else
Jp is gonna say your the 1 % of people that actually have problems with their customer service but at the end of the day it’s their job to help their paying customers
@@RomaVilla I just didn't get why I had to pay for something there amp caused and why did I have to go through all the hassle with customer service and with getting the amp right they should of just sent me a new amp on the first place not after three time then having to have to argue with them I was more then understanding with them
There refurbished amp guy in Florida is terrible. Ordered 2 amps. Jp8 and jp1.5. Only shipping one amp. Called right away. I had to show proof of missing amp in package. The box was not big enough to fit both. Had to deny payment through bank. Jp never buy again.
I use heat shrink on a washer when I screw down the amps on the amp rack so I don't scratch it 😕 and ruin the paint on the little ears that holds it down.
I blew 2 d4s amps in 1 day, stupid of me right? I actually left the speaker wires dangling and touched while playing 😂 almost 2k$ down the drain, but that was my fault, it just baffles me that people will actually blame other people for their mistakes.. I still have them, I'll send the to you JP so you guys can fix them
I have three jp amplifiers two jp23 and one jp63 amplifier I only clipped my jp63 amplifier one time adjusting the gain?Other than that its working fine my remote bass knob went out but who cares 😂😂😂
He didn't say don't cry he is saying don't run to social media expecting to get warranty help/service without contacting the actual company through proper channels and following the process.
Here’s a solution… stop selling stuff on the internet and start selling brick and mortar. Then the store owner can decide if the amp is a warranty replacement. The store owner has to install it and all that for it to be covered under warranty. This is what Best Buy does if you buy head unit and they didn’t install it no warranty…
The world is going to online sales, it cuts pricing because there is no retail markup. Company selling makes more money and end user gets a better price. You expect a company to retail a product in a brick and mortar for the same price as their online website?
@@Nevaru_42 the internet is what killed brick and mortar. I’m old enough to know when this happened. There used to be to be like 6 or so shops in my city and all but one is gone. Use to be everyone sold every name brand and whoever sold the most each month got better deals from say Kenwood and would have a “sale” on Kenwood to bring in more business… all of this is gone now and you have 85 million people trying to hook up stuff with no schooling to make sure the work is done right. The shops had certified installers and this is how you keep people from blowing out your “street cred” because there is no accountability on the workmanship when buying off the internet.
How about we make the amp legs a little longer so you can mount it whenever and the amp can still breathe. How about ceramic coating them for the heat. Plenty of options here.
They usually have one every year but it's nothing spectacular 10 to 15% off down for sound products but the other Brands he sells usually have better percentages off. Last year I bought two mm1000 and only save like 15 bucks per amp definitely not worth the time I waited, was disappointed.
That bull shit because I reach out and was never answered I still have the email as proof from a long time ago. I just stopped by form down from sound because of no response. My problem did even have to do with them my package was damaged because of shipping I still have pic of that to if they only replied. My package was ripped with a hole and left in the rain. I also left 2 or 3 emai with no reply. So iv go to disagree with what your saying completely because that not my experience. Sorry you packaging double did help when left in the rain even with the plastic because it was ripped. I don't understand why I did get a reply I saved every thing for proof .💯💪👍✌️
I just installed a JP40 lithium battery and mine drops down to 12 volts at full tilt I gotta mechman 240 amp alternator with 0 gauge wire and my last down4sound LTO 6.0 would stay in the 14s I don’t understand why I’m dropping 2 volts. Any suggestions?
usually the same guys/gals that don't take care of the equipment, have improper electrical support, crap install in are the same ones that go on FB and cry and talk crap about said company. 99% of the time it's user error on why their equipment doesn't work to begin with. but put the blame on the equipment/company for their problem. if I'm gonna pay 6-700+++ for an amp I'm dam sure gonna take care of it. Just my 2 cents.
Alot of people might not abuse it as much with a clip and watt meter.. shutdown the overpriced smtuff out there and could help with monitoring both subs and amplifiers.
So mounting the amp with an old shoe string dangling in the trunk is a bad idea. Every time I hit the brakes I hear a thump the amp cuts out for a second and comes back on. Is that normal? lol
Agreed 100% That both parties need to show each other the same respect when dealing with these situations. Shit happens. I think it's great that you're consistently trying to educate your customers so they can get the most out of their gear. Nobody with that kind of dedication is going to let a sub par product go out with their name on it. Super happy with my JP23v2/JP84 combo keep up the great work!
These recent vids have me worried man. I get the poor return packaging, and an amp just sliding around, that's gonna cause more issues than just breaking an amp. If you seen how the JP8 was treated you would throw up. Looks like all my amps. Sht bangs em up. If an amp cant take random stuff in my truck bumping against it, then it it is junk. 30 years of treating amps like this. Every single amp I have owned has had the speaker wires shorted out at some point in time, every amps protect feature has protected the amp, so far. If an amp cant handle this its garbage. I am not saying beat it up with a hammer, but when I slide the box in and it rubs on the amp on the way it, that should not be enough to void it cuz it put a deep scratch on the paint. Do I need to take your amps apart and and start adding epoxy on the components so they dont break loose from sht bumping into it. if sht bumping it to it gonna cause a failure, whats hard hitting bass gonna do to it? In all my time I have had only one amp fail, and I am still not sure how. It would throw sparks internally when I cranked it up, and yet some how still play. When the sparks happened it would make the speakers pop in and out until I turned it down. So close to blowing a sub. Anyways no one gonna read this book, but I will be posting a short on this.
I wanted to belive that D4S was a good company, but after my last interaction, i won't ever buy something there again. Not saying this is everyones experience, but mine was horrible . Not happy at all. And as i listen to him in this video, it speaks voluums when he says his customers are (crying), its very unprofessional and degrading to the very people buying his products, poor choice of words. Not too mention other words and statements I caught in this video, Ive got nothing but respect for the guy, but Do better.
I just read most the comments below. I guess some of the posters below are kissing your ass now because they do not want their warranty denied if they post something negative or the straight up truth about whats been happening to so many. LOL
There is too much complaining in recent videos. Do more or use other YT videos on how to properly handle & install components. The PROPER way to install amp 100% is to use rubber grommets for the mounting screws or bolts (or use vinyl screws). It's crazy to me also how people spend GOOD $$$ for components then don't know how to install but audio components DO fail and their are lemons. That's the nature of the beast with this type of product. To keep it accurate, it real, A LOT of complaining/crying lately in these videos, to use language used in this video. Will D4S actually cover warranty claims? Who knows... it appears that they try to not do so according to this and recent YT content. I have NEVER, in literally 30 years of car audio experience made a claim on a product but I install components correctly and when they [rarely] fail, I pass them for to someone or a trade school for free as a project. These videos only work to deter us away from the D4S brand. Vent within the company but doing it on public platforms erodes any trust in the brand.
He is crying because people are holding him and his company accountable for a shitty product, and support. He call you a hater if you call out his company's bad behavior.
Friends of mine only went to social media after they got no help from your customer service. Meaning no calls back, not answering the calls, then taking a few weeks just to get a shipping label or being told they have to ship back a DOA amp on their dime and have to wait months only to get a repaired amp back instead of just shipping out another new one. Or maybe you got yours and just do not care. That is why you do not do anything but try and blame the customer for shitty QC on your end. I cant believe you are threatening your customers in your video. You said that it will take longer to fix their issue if they post to social media. You are out of touch with reality. Social media is used to punish you and your company. It lets everybody know how you take care of people. I hear people at audio events call you a douche bag all time. I never knew why. Now I know. LOL
Hummm, in my personal experience and opinion your customer service is trash your turnaround on the warranties or even more trash! I returned a jp234 and it took u guys 4 months to get my amp back to me and in between all of that, I was calling every couple weeks and I always get the excuse. Y’all are backed up in the repair department or you’re waiting on parts first time and last time I ever order JP amp!!!
I reached out to the "dog push" company about their 2400.1 full bridge after it quit, got hot enough to grill a steak and wouldn't turn off. Never got a return call or email. Found out years later that supposedly it wasn't meant to drive subwoofers.
99 percent of problems are human error and most are just dumb . in 35 years of audio not one of my amps have a scratch because i rubber mount mine because vibration , heat, under powering , and stupid settings (like gain turned past 3/4 ) kill amps .
Wait did you just say only putting 3 screws in void the warranty you reaching with that one. A lot of times I only use 2 and that works just fine. You’re assuming alot like we can assume you had a faulty product. Not saying you do just using your logic.
I don't see anything wrong with saying that your equipment needs to be mounted properly. I didn't hear him saying that that voided the warranty. If it is damaged severely due to improper packaging/ improper installation, then yes, it should be voided! Vibration damage is the #1 reason for amplifier failure. Does not just pertain to vibration from your subwoofers.
@@sethgt1234 I was only half watching while I’m working. Yes doing it correctly is important. But only Using 3 outta 4 screws isnt the same as poor install. Using 2 would be fine. One in each corner it will Hold unless your doing like rally races or somthing crazy. I grew up on a hella bumpy dirt road and I never had a problem using 2 screws.

@@cevintambel6700 Why is this a stupid question
I would ask them directly. You might be able to pay a slight upgrade charge or something along those lines but that's like asking if Honda is gonna give you a new car Next year if you hadn't driven your old one and not try to charge you anything for doing it. That's kind of a common sense type thing.
The warranty starts the day it’s delivered to you 😊
Unfortunately I only see bass head installs with very poor installs. Very very rare to see it in the SQ world. I used to be a bass head now I’m into SQ. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy Bass. I have two 12’s in back and one 10 in front. Yes yes, many SPL installs are done correctly. I know.
And you’re giving them a few more minutes of fame people know you’re a standup guy that’s all that matters man hell with all the haters
That’s why I just chalk it up as money lost and buy something else. Plus they’ll will find any excuse to say “misuse or abuse “
Jp has never been wrong about anything. Just by posting that comment 99.9% of bassheads hate your guts. Dudes just eat up jp's crybaby rants like it's audio gospel.
They all work great for about 3 months
@@Classic-lipsthere’s always two sides to every story and then there’s the truth 😊
I ain't gonna lie because of the bad reviews I was gonna buy another brand but I was waiting to see if it's true or bs
It's BS. D4S has great customers service. You just have to have common sense when dealing with any company. He has not been as successful as he is from treating his customers bad.
thank you for educating me!
Lol
Ii love your amps and your customer service yall repaired a amp with no problem I always going to buy your products Clifford holmes
WOW, this world has gone to hell!! You're way too calm, JP!! I'd would have gone off.😂😂😂😂
Double box, bubble wrap, and a few rolls of packing tape.... when I send an amp I want it to take 20 minutes to unpack.
@@RomaVilla I just didn't get why I had to pay for something there amp caused and why did I have to go through all the hassle with customer service and with getting the amp right they should of just sent me a new amp on the first place not after three time then having to have to argue with them I was more then understanding with them
Crazy how many dumbasses you gotta deal with daily. I see their stupid ass posts all the time on stuff like this. The audio world is just to wild.
Hey Mr.price. Do you think the new DVX 12s can handle a JP53?
Best product 👌 time will come bro 💯
There refurbished amp guy in Florida is terrible. Ordered 2 amps. Jp8 and jp1.5. Only shipping one amp. Called right away. I had to show proof of missing amp in package. The box was not big enough to fit both. Had to deny payment through bank. Jp never buy again.
Damn
I use heat shrink on a washer when I screw down the amps on the amp rack so I don't scratch it 😕 and ruin the paint on the little ears that holds it down.
Facts JP D4S for life Avatar for the win can't wait till my next upgrade will b shopping here soon #D4S #basshead
Posting your issim on the fence with all of this. They make great boxes tho
That's why all the amps I've bought from d4s I keep all the boxes .. even the high amps boxes ..
I blew 2 d4s amps in 1 day, stupid of me right? I actually left the speaker wires dangling and touched while playing 😂 almost 2k$ down the drain, but that was my fault, it just baffles me that people will actually blame other people for their mistakes.. I still have them, I'll send the to you JP so you guys can fix them
No problem we would be happy to help you get them repaired for as cheap as possible to get you back up and going!
I have three jp amplifiers two jp23 and one jp63 amplifier I only clipped my jp63 amplifier one time adjusting the gain?Other than that its working fine my remote bass knob went out but who cares 😂😂😂
It doesn't matter if someone cries online or not, honor your product period 😊
He didn't say don't cry he is saying don't run to social media expecting to get warranty help/service without contacting the actual company through proper channels and following the process.
The faster part is a must
I've been a basshead since Moby Dick was a guppy. Installed numerous amps n never needed any warrany. Usually operator error.
..."slap a sticker on the Amp and send it like that."🤣🤣🤣
Here’s a solution… stop selling stuff on the internet and start selling brick and mortar.
Company bashing should be considered voiding the warranty also. JP will there be a Black Friday sale?
They usually have one every year but it's nothing spectacular 10 to 15% off down for sound products but the other Brands he sells usually have better percentages off. Last year I bought two mm1000 and only save like 15 bucks per amp definitely not worth the time I waited, was disappointed.
@@neilj3991 I’m looking to get a jp23 v2
I still have both boxes and packaging that my JP95 amp came in even though the warranty has expired 😅
You seem very frustrated with people I feel for ya. I don't know why people do half the things they do.
Have you thought of integrating a watt meter on you output cheap is better but be close atleast?
Alot of people might not abuse it as much with a clip and watt meter.. shutdown the overpriced smtuff out there and could help with monitoring both subs and amplifiers.
So mounting the amp with an old shoe string dangling in the trunk is a bad idea. Every time I hit the brakes I hear a thump the amp cuts out for a second and comes back on. Is that normal? lol
You guys get down!!
I know someone work at ups they said They just throw the package in the truck
If something rolls in your trunk and hits a switch for strapping😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
So basically you have to mount the amp in a bullet proof case and don’t use it if you want the warranty
DBZ OR DBX come on man...
Only complaint is that most of your smaller amps are out of stock
Which ones?
Hey i love my amp from you jp13 for the normal basshead❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
you make it sound like if someone cries you're not going to honor the warranty

Those, people are so ignorant they dont know how to read the owners manual ,sorry to say,I know how you feel, sir

LOL
They don’t sell common sense anymore at the stores it’s more rare than gold.
People are stupid. I mean you see the questions they ask which contain the answer to said question.😂
But if you don't run to social media you can't get your bit of attention
He is crying because people are holding him and his company accountable for a shitty product, and support. He call you a hater if you call out his company's bad behavior.
Once again this all comes down to the lack of common sense these days. Also if you need any help with the repairs then hmu.
You said dbx that looked like dbz
The repair department is backed up because the amps are junk. LOL
I reached out to the "dog push" company about their 2400.1 full bridge after it quit, got hot enough to grill a steak and wouldn't turn off. Never got a return call or email. Found out years later that supposedly it wasn't meant to drive subwoofers.
We call them dumb azzez JP
Bottom line is people are stupid
