All the screws are because the Telecody is IP65 (similar to NEMA 4), meaning it’s completely submersible and can withstand low-pressure water jets directed at any part of it. The programming is different from other garage door operator keypads because it can double as a 12-button remote, with 10 of the buttons being codable.
So does this unit have a backlight that can be turned on? I see one in your video during setup, but the unit doesn't ever display one on mine during normal use, which makes using it a night problematic. Otherwise, excellent video--I used this to set up control on a second door, which my installer neglected to do.
Yes, they all have backlights. The easiest way to turn it on is to press one of the bottom buttons (solid dot or circle), after which the light stays on for around 30 seconds, I think.
It's very simple if the first digit of your old code and the first digit of your new code are the same (codes can vary in length, from 1 to 9 digits long). The process is P > old code > P new code > P.
@@romantroyer5157 Hi Roman, I was wondering if you know the difference between resetting a new code from the keypad and changing the old to new passcode from the keypad!
@@chaewonkim8532 when you reset the keypad, all you're doing it putting it back to the factory preset which functions as a 12-button remote, but the keypad is still connected to the operator. Usually after resetting a single button on the keypad will run the door. When you change a code (first number of new code has to be the same as the first number of the old code), the old code is gone and only the new code works.
The LED from radio 1 doesn't start flashing :( The code is properly installed on my Telecody+ like you explained in the video... We have the sommer S 9060 Pro+ with 868,95MHz. What am I doing worng??
I would check two things. First, make sure that when you press the last digit of your code, both lights above the keypad are coming on briefly. If only one is coming on, then the code is not correctly programmed. Second, make sure your Telecody is close to the motor carriage when you are programming it. SOMMER limits range for programming to avoid cross-programming, and I have seen instances where it wouldn't program when it is mounted to the door jamb, and I had to bring it over to the motor carriage for programming, but range was normal afterward.
Found out that I have a German version of the telecode. I need the S10212-00012 version and now I haven the S10212-00001. This one doesn’t communicate with Benelux sommer motors
If your new code starts with the same number as your old code, the process is as follows: 1.) Presse P 2.) Enter your old code 3.) Press P 4.) Enter you new code 5.) Press P Note: this only resets the keypad back to a 12-button remote setting; it does not delete the keypad's access to the garage door operator.
@@romantroyer5157 Thanks Roman! So if I have forgotten my keypad's access code to the garage, I have first to follow the second option and then the first?
@@vovatocai correct. After you've reset the keypad, one of the buttons will operate the door by itself, since this is the channel that was programmed to the operator. You can then follow step 2 in these directions to set a new code: www.sommer-usa.com/uploads/4/0/7/6/40760403/programming_menu_telecody_usa_may_2014.pdf.
I am trying to connect it to my garage door opener by pressing the RADIO button (channel1) and the code on the Telecody but it does not work :(. What could get wrong?.
It is possible that your code was entered incorrectly when programming. If it was programmed correctly, both lights above the keypad should turn on briefly when you hit the last digit of your code. I would also double check that the frequency on your keypad and operator match. Possible options are 310 MHz, 315 MHz, and 922.5 MHz.
Remove the keypad from the holder--you'll likely have to remove the blank button and remove the screw underneath it. Then remove the eight screws in the back of the keypad to access the battery. You'll need a CR123A battery.
If you want your code to start with 0, use the following steps to program the code: 1. Press P 2. Press 0 3. Press P 4. Enter your whole code starting with 0 5. Press P The two lights above the keypad should come on briefly when you hit the last P; if they don't, you're doing something wrong.
If you're using a code that does not start with 0, go the motor carriage and press and hold the red Radio button for around 15 seconds until the red CH1 light starts flashing slowly. Release the Radio button and within 30 seconds press the 0 button on your keypad and only that button will be deleted from the operator.

The blank button is actually a screw cover. Pull on the button to remove the cover, then remove the screw underneath and slide the Telecody up and out of the holder to remove.

Roman Troyer oui bien sure. Very helpful video. There’s nothing easy about Sommer garage door openers. Just changing the battery on the keypad involves SIX screws.
