Fight night champion is elite. I’ve been playing it non stop lately and it holds up in every way. It’s the perfect mix of arcade and realism. And the legacy mode could’ve been it’s own game on top of the champion story mode. Best boxing game ever made.

I disagree wit you on da basis that, their was something wrong with the impact sounds, the jab was goofy didnt feel fresh like round 3-4 did. Even knockout kings 2004 had better in fighting. Whilst champion had a scammy fake feel to it in regards to the infighting, Literally punching through opponents arms ignoring real physics like in previous games, overall gameplay was good, but those who neutral and free from nostalgia and bias. Will point out the bullshit in this game. Graphics are just amazing even in 2022. Just had way more realistic fun with other games in the series.

Fight Night Round 4 is the best boxing game of all time. It's the only game where you could have success fighting in the style of actual fighter. I could box a puncher's ears off to a wide decision with Paulie Malignaggi, or savagely destroy fighters early with Mike Tyson. The gameplay and graphics are great to this day. But my favorite thing about it was the create a player feature and the ability to download them on the online. The fan created fighter models, stats, styles, etc. were so good, that I almost hated playing with EA's roster. I remember when EA tried to push Wlad and Vitali Klitschko as DLC. I was shocked to find that the Wlad and Vitali I had already downloaded were superior in every way.

Great but I think Champion should get more credit for certain nuances. When creating a boxer finding the right combination of body type, block style, punch style, height, and stance shaped a fighters style. Easy stance, Frazier punch style, with the big body type is a precise power punching style. There are so many combinations that it’s amazing. Plus the career mode wasn’t too boring either. I do agree with Fansticos placement

Nice breakdown. I always felt Victorious Boxers was the most realistic boxing game I ever played. The other games often spend too much time on making fighters look cool and signing big names to the roster and then they are button smashers.

I never liked boxing "simulators". A Video Game pretending to be real is damn near an incoherent concept. There is an exception for VR but there is no such thing as a "realistic" boxing video game that you play on your couch with a controller. Thrill Of The Fight is the closest thing to an Boxing Actual Simulator.

Out of all the boxing games I've played fight night 2004 easily takes #1. Everything Sj fifita said plus stamina really meant something. you could get tired and slow down if you threw to many punches. That was huge in that game. I knocked out so many people in the mid to late rounds because of that. I hope they think about that in the new ESBC. was a great game.

Finally love for fight night 2004 getting its place it deserves!played this series to death, loved them all but 2004 is for me the most realistic,it's boxing in its purist form,no gimmicks and room for spamming.people talk about not able to move and punch but if you know how to punch per step and use your angles right then your pretty much moving like a real boxer, loved this game bring it back!

I don't understand how any of the Fight Nights are more realistic than Champion. Do you see Fighters In real life blocking other Fighters punches and then land a haymaker? The movement was worse......the jabs look weird and that block a punch haymaker counter would get repetitive. Champion gave you the ability to use the whole ring plus the fighter would block punches but more realistic but you didn't get your face punched off because somebody blocked your punch. The damage was more realistic plus every Fighter moves and fight like they do In real life. Round 4 Is most Peoples favorite because they like the old style......That's why most Fight Night fans didn't buy Champion and that's fine I get it but none are more realistic than Champion. Another crazy thing Is after they stopped making the Game there were fans mad because they stopped but EA's like why waste our time when we barely sold a Million copies of Champion.

I cant remember FN 04 too well, maybe because online gaming wasnt a thing on the PS back then. I loved FNR 3 when the PS3 released constantly on it. Parry was good if people wanted to spam the crappy X punch you parry and lay him out with 2 punches of your own 🤛

  • @johnpublic7796

Boxer's Road 2 definitely deserves Top Shelf or whatever. I'd personally put HNI 2: Victorious Road there, too. It's actually a little better than the more streamlined BR2. They had an interesting Make your own Punch mode and a Coach Mode where you changed your fighter's tactics and tried winning. It also had lots of real boxers with fake names, and many of the likenesses were bad or non-existent, but some funny names. And surprising somewhat obscure names of fighters in that 2001-ish era of boxing. I think they had William Joppy, for instance. Anyhow, that's the game with the Story Mode and the Eiji Date vs. Ricardo Martinez match that I guarantee you will not win within your first 10 tries. He takes you out in 2-3 rounds. Dude is hard AF to beat. Issac Frost is Glass Joe in comparison. Mike Tyson on Punch Out is way easier (that one's just fairly easy timing really. I could teach most in an hour how to beat Tyson in Punch Out.). Another hard match...see if you can beat Brian Hawk on Victorious Boxers 1 with anyone besides Takamura...or the bear lol. Not as hard as Martinez, but still difficult. I managed to beat Hawk with Ippo. The other Middleweights on that game are terrible. I might've beat him with Ichiro Miyata, but it's been a while so I can't be sure. You should do a VB 1 Deep Dive retro review sometime. That's the first game I remember where everyone really felt like they had a unique style for the most part. And the fluidity still hasn't been matched by any mainstream game released imo. Fight Night has the head movement, but it's jerky, nowhere near as smooth. You know what I'm talking about.

Imo fight Night Round 2 is the best and underrated. You can really box in this game I have a couple of videos of me actually boxing in this game. I like the speed, how everything flows well with no gimmicks, except the parry. The parry is the only bad thing about this game.
I played the others. Rd 3 it's too slow, 4 didn't feel right, 2004 is good but it's missing something. Champion is the worst, the game is broken, so many issues, the gameplay is terrible.

Idk! I personally would have Fight Night Champion in a category above "elite", by itself. As a person who has taken up boxing lessons along with my martial arts training. I've found FNC to be a tad more realistic to actual boxing. The fluidity of the punches, footwork, head movements, and etc, just my personal opinion, but great list nonetheless. Boxer's Road 2 was great as well. Would've been interesting to see where you would've placed "Legends Of The Ring"(SNES), and "Ring King"(Arcade). Also I hated 1978's "Boxing", even then. Lol! There would be a portable electronic handheld Game that came out a year or two later (1979/80) called, "Bambino Boxing". Spent so many hours and days on that thing. It was great. For your next tier-ranking you should rate some UFC/MMA games. That would be interesting. Great Video!

    @SagansWar หลายเดือนก่อน

I feel like what most boxing games miss is they almost always have two indications. Health and Stamina. When someone's Health is low or gone, they go down. But that is not really how boxing always works. Take most Mike Tyson fights. Like against Marvis Frazier. He hurt Marvis with and uppercut followed by like 4 blows and finished him. Marvis' health didn't slowing go down. I wrote a text based boxing game years ago and the logic I had was a hidden chin attribute you didn't know and couldn't change. So when someone landed a punch, the punch had a certain power range, Lets says it would do 8-20 points of damage. And the opponents chin was 15. If the punch landed at full power, that would give a 5% chance of hurting knocking opponent down (20 punch - 15 chin). So, at any time during a fight, if a punch is hard enough over the strength of chin, someone can be hurt or knocked down\out. And that, to me, is more like real boxing. Not knocking someone down 10 times or wearing their health down. Sure, that happens, but more knockouts come from a sudden blow or combination of blows.

You should've tried Big Shot Boxing, it's a pixel game but is a really cool and fun game worth playing. But it'snot great, and has quite a lot of setbacks like limited movement, but you should try it still. And you should've also included more boxing games from Hajime No Ippo because Victorious Boxers is not the only amazing game, there are barely any good anime on boxing and I think Hajime No Ippo will enhance your gaming experience too.

everyone has their favourites. When it comes to the last 3,round 3,round 4 and champion each have pros and cons and features unique to each other that makes them better experiences for different reasons for different players. For me it’s round 4 for when I want a long fight, wearing down the opponent and champion when I’m in a rush and want a quick fight and just want to quickly drop someone, Tyson style. Round 4 is king. I have to agree with the guy doing this video. Not gonna lie, the only reason I even bought champion back this week is because I missed Holyfield and it was too late for me to download the dlc boxer pack for round 4 from psn store. If I had done it back in the day I wouldn’t even of bought back Fight night champion. It’s a pretty game though. Another reason why I even play champion now is because I have it for my 360s and that is set up to my 24 inch PlayStation simulview monitor and still looks good on a screen that size, where as round 4 looks good even on my 40 inch Samsung LED TV also from 2011 because round 4 is 1080p on the ps3, which is where I play it.

Main problem with FNC is that the straight right was overpowered. Online is mostly players spamming the straight right. It’s highly annoying to deal with this type of gameplay.

Only 2 games I think should be elite are FN RD2 & of course Champion …They might not have definitive boxing mechanics but FIGHT RD 2 should be elite for other things like allowing you to throw endless punches at your opponent after a knockdown,if positioned correctly in a corner, you could wail on them until the replay shows keeping them from falling to the ground I think this was removed in RD 3…creation was incredible as well for the time you could actually make a believable post prison or Iron Mike Tyson on there for they had a goatee & eyebrow selection that closely resembled his 95’ return fight against Mcneeley ,just didn’t have his iconic trunks…Besides that ,cornerman mini game ,workout mini game all were done perfectly for the time…
And the haymakers the cpu love throwing kinda gave the game more of a Rocky feel to it than the actual Rocky games did …The excessive haymakers also made you think before you throw…
Fight Night Champion is IMO elite because it had bare knuckle brawl ,updated boxers whenever a boxer in game had a new tattoo or gear ,you could import music entrance and at the time being able to download fighters was an underrated feature …most were bad but you could then modify the face to your liking …The graphics and champion mode made the game look & feel more like a movie tie-in and that was awesome

I never played Boxer’s Road 2 (a 2007 psp game) until recently (2021) so if I was to base my list on nostalgia FNC would have been above BR2…. FNC lacked good boxing fundamentals (a one button block with a meter) (no feints) (slow legs with no footwork at all) (no ability to create angles) (very knock out leaning, it was a power punch fest encouraged by the game mechanics) (Jab was very weak and could easily be exploited in a game where it should be the go to weapon) all fighters fought the same way with simply cosmetic animations ex. Philly and guard were equally as effective in defense regardless of the different animations) FNR4 in my opinion was better because at least I could block high and low creating a better mechanic to Sike out your opponent for combos like real boxing

@@BoxingFanatico everybody has an opinion and I definitely value yours and like your Channel. But I played mostly all of those boxing games that people mentioned and fnc is the only one that stood the test of time as long as it has. The servers for Fight Night Round 4 were still up all the way till 2019 but the servers were empty and everybody was still playing Fight Night Champion and still do to this day. And I don't know about most people but I use my Jab well in that game. It came out in 2011 so it's definitely not perfect but still the best by far. I still play it often and it's still very fun. Fight Night Champion online has become a culture over the years

Fun review! I get your philosophy when it comes to boxing games and respect it. As much as I dug the smoothness in movement of FNR4 & FN 2004, Fight Night Champion is my favorite boxing game of all time. Second would be Fight Night Round 2 - haymaker punching and career mode, where licensed boxers changed physiques after training. I also loved Knockout Kings 2001 for the fight styles and licensed boxers - it's the last game that licensed Floyd. Overall, impact punching, fight styles, licensed boxers and Create-A-Boxer features are the best for me.
Actually, I think the A.I. for Fight Night Champion is better than Round 4. The only problem is that you have to go into the sliders for EACH boxer to adjust to optimum levels and that's after you adjust the game setting sliders in GOAT. It took forever for me to adjust to make the GOAT setting the hardest. Now just watching simulation mode looks great.

My favourites are fight night round 4 and knock out kings 2001 for boxing, the sweet science, using fighters like Ali, Lewis, etc, fight night champion when I want to brawl and drop fighters quickly, for a quick gaming session and for that game I’ll use Tyson. Haven’t played round 3 for a while. I’ve ordered that on eBay I remember it had some god features. It will probably be amongst my favourites probably 3rd or 4th favourite.
