Wtf...... ~I~ gave you that shirt the night before the opening and you left it at Engelbrecht. I gave it to you the same night I gave Rex the Shenanigator shirt..... 😭😭😭 I see how it is...
Christina Zirpoli I was going to say I don’t remember giving him that. But if no one was going to take credit I would have. Gretchen and I got the wives shirts at the opening.
Soooooo good! Love my Infinity Bottle and thank you for the suggestion for how to make/maintain it!! I made an old Seagram's 7 Crown vintage tall narrow diamond crystal bottle into my Infinity and removed the labels off it. It also has a nice way to mix it because the stopper is open and allows the whiskey into it when turned upside down.
Wouldn't it be interesting to hear from the distillers who had a chance to taste it at barrel strength before proofing it down? Rex and Daniel...make it so.
REX DANIEL, you guys need to try some Mezacal if you havent already. white espadin mezcal tastes A LOT like islay. I've poured Ardbeg 10 to mexican dudes before and they asked me if it was mezcal. Also, it's pricey but try some pechuga mezcal, it is gamey and delicious. Unlike anything you've tried. I recommend VIda Pechuga.
Hey guys, I’m a novice to scotch but I’m heading to Scotland this summer! What are some scotches hard to find outside of Scotland that I should try while I have the chance? We’ll be traveling around Edinburgh, Glasgow, Skye, and Inverness if that helps.
Dear Magnificent Bastards, We’ve seen top 10 budget bourbons, top 10 underrated, etc. I’d love to see your TOP TEN BOURBONS. Price is not a factor. Maybe even top ten expensive bourbons (over $100/barrel). Either way, keep up the fight! Matt D.
Rauchbier as a whisky? I was thinking about that when I tried ardbeg 10 for the first time. For me that peat smoke is more blackforest ham than the peat I'm used to from other peaty whiskies I've had (Laphroaig, Jura 10, Bowmore,..). Bavarian Rauchbier actually tastes kind of close to that. Who doesn't want a sausage with their beer?
Rex and Daniel if you guys haven't already I would really like to see you do a comparison of jack daniels black label, single barrel, and gentlemen jack. My aunt prefers gentlemen and I prefer single barrel. I am very new to drinking whiskey as anything other than shots and respect your opinion
Hi Dan and Rex!! My comment on your Bowmore 18 video was deleted for some reason. Just wanted to say that the channel is awesome and it has helped me in my ongoing quest to collect and taste whisk(e)y! Do you guys have plans to review any more whiskies from Forty Creek's lineup? I am from the same town as the Forty Creek distillery, so if you're ever up in the Great White North come by for a tour on me!
I seem to remember you saying you've never seen a smoked bourbon. I recently saw a peat smoked sons of liberty American whiskey. I don't know if it is technically bourbon, but it is smoked with actual peat
OK, guys, here's the deal about that Polish thing, "Chamberlains 24-year-old", which you can still buy in Poland, e.g. winezja.pl/alkohol-mocny/chamberlains-whisky-24yo It was produced, as an experiment after the fall of communism, by "Szczecińska Fabryka Wódek STARKA" in the North-West Polish port of Szczeciń: starka.pl/en/about-us/ , a producer of aged Polish vodka with a long tradition. They make a specific type of vodka from a rye mashbill (!) called Starka which is then aged in oak barrels with the addition of some leaves: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starka Now, the first link (one of the few options where you can buy this whisky in Poland online) says that we're talking here about a barrel of Scotch single malt newmake (from an unnamed distillery) that was transported to Poland sometime in the 90s and aged in Starka barrels - that is to say, in oak barrels that previously held (rye) vodka! Now, concluding from your tasting, it was probably some not exceptional Speyside newmake that was matured in some tired-as-heck Starka/vodka barrel...
i restricted myself to buy no more than 2 bottles a month. i always have something peated open, but whenever i think about what to buy next, given the aboundance of options, i go for the un chill filtered non colored ones. this is the reason i do not own any bowmores for example. is there a whiskey i need to try even it it is colored, filtered and bottled at 40 percent? life is short, am i missing some amazing whiskey?
I'm pretty sure this has been covered before, but I've slept and drank sense then, so! Is Daniel just super short or is rex freakishly tall? The thoughts that keep you up at 4:40am. ....
Is it possible to distill whiskey and age it in barrels at one’s home? If I wanted to, could I just buy some moonshine and age it in an oak barrels to make my own whiskey? Could I get an at home beer making kit and (instead of making beer) distill it to make whiskey to age?
Yes you can buy new make/moonshine and age it yourself in the USA. NO! Do not distill at home it's illegal in the USA even freeze distilling is illegal. Any form of distilling without a license is illegal and will get you federal time if you get caught.
6:33 🎶Attention monsters, my name is Papyrus! I’m a skeleton made with magic bones & lots of cool! If you need proof, then look at my biceps, Because they’re wearing sunglasses and that clearly means I rule!🎶
The shorter one likes puns and dry humor. The taller one does not and is very charismatic. If you switched their work ethics, I could believe Rex and Daniel are the human Sans and Papyrus 😆
My video suggestions are: 1. Your ultimate "man shit" whiskey. (Im not excluding all you lovely ladies, I want your opinion on this as well). Whats the one that puts hair on the chest of the hair on your chest. 2: Your personal top 6. Two daily drivers, two first drinkers, one special occasion and one you stare at alone late at night, in the dark, whispering "one day." As cigar smoke slowly rolls up into your eye, burning it. Damn, that stings.
Ow Daniel, I told you, you're not getting away with this! :) Now 3 episodes ago you said you mentioned this "And we drugged a bunch of our somm's over there" We would like to know what happened, Daniel. Is this why it's called the wizard academy? The moment you step in the building you start seeing magic and leprechauns drinking whisky?
Left mine there the day of the distillery launch party. 6months later, still a welcomed and happy surprise. Matt Zitrick dropped off his the day before the party, and his was featured a few days ahead of mine. And, he was on again this week. No idea when he donated that one. Don't know or care. I just love seeing all of these Magnificent Bastards every day.
The word "Rauch" R + the frist half of the spelling form Auchentoshan (the Auch without the entoshan). That is like 95% correct then. Greetings from Germany. :)
I mailed a bottle of Infuse Spirits Broken Barrel Bourbon to you last September. It's not in the vault list, and hasn't been in a video... Could be you haven't gotten to it yet (saw one the other day you said was from 4 years ago, WTF guys?), or maybe some shady postman nabbed himself a free bottle of Oak juice... Hope he enjoyed it at least...
I still have that one sitting on the shelf next to my desk. We are just now catching up the things that were donated in July and August of last year. Thanks for being patient!
Its pronounced "Wahaka"... Daniel even said it right one time when he was explaining the barrel trading, but then went back to saying "Oaxaca"... pretty sure he's trolling us...
There's a brand of mezcal called "wahaka" that the mezcal barrels came from, he wasn't trolling he was just reading the brand name which is spelled diferently
Ok. Ok. I just deleted my rant about the pronunciation of Oaxaca. I'm guessing it's an Austin thing-a to mispronounce things. I was just about to drop the knowledge on you until you started reading and said it right.
Love you Daniel, but the grey shirt and the mispronunciation of Oaxaca is messing with my head ... I feel like I've been drinking but I know I haven't. Maybe it's time to start.
I know that you don't care but the diphthong is important in saying Rauchbier and Rauchmalz the German way. German didn't pick up that silly write vowels you don't say thing from the French. There is no s or sh sound in the German ch (but sch is the English sh sound). You did the right sound but it sounds way to harsh when you say it. But you did better than expected.
If it’s Mexico, it’s pronounced “wah-hawk-ah”
he got it right once... lol
Thank you, as a Texan "O Zaca" was killing me lol
@@lockguy2652 I think (hope) that indicates he's saying it wrong on purpose as a gag & just forgot to do it that one time
@@lockguy2652 He only got it "right" because the name is actually Wahaka Distillery.
It was amazing listening to him get it half the times and miss it half the time.
Thanks for the great review on Axe and Oak
You are correct with your pronounciation of Poppe, it's like the flower. Had a good feeling you would really enjoy that Herman Marshall ;-)
You guys talk about whiskey the way my buddies and I talk about music. I appreciate that.
I always enjoy your presentations, but it's almost sad when it's the highlight of my day.
Daniel, Im proud of you man. Your finally treating that beard with some respect.
Wtf...... ~I~ gave you that shirt the night before the opening and you left it at Engelbrecht. I gave it to you the same night I gave Rex the Shenanigator shirt..... 😭😭😭
I see how it is...
@Benjamin Eaves I'm sure Rex will enjoy me feeling sad that I got forgotten.. Again...
Christina Zirpoli I was going to say I don’t remember giving him that.
But if no one was going to take credit I would have.
Gretchen and I got the wives shirts at the opening.
The colour in your video is looking luscious!!!
Always love it when Daniel gets his phantom beard hairs trimmed
Once again, Good Morning you Magnificent Bastards!
And Goood morning to you
Hey, nice icon!
Nice shirt, Dan
I enjoy this idea. Make it so number one and number two.
You decide which one you are.
I would TOTALLY buy that whisk(e)y you labeled "Do Not Buy This Whisk(e)y!!
You guys should do a top 10 crowd sourced exploration whisk(e)ys
Oh, another super interesting Pennsylvania whiskey? Who would have guessed... :) #ReppinPA
How did you guys like the Jameson Caskmate IPA and Stout? I loved both of them. The Herman Marshall sounds amazing.
Do the "Do Not Buy This Whiskey" with the angostura move on the wrap job lol
Finally, whiskey aged in mezcal barrels. I have been curious about that for so long
It's awesome when Rex scares Daniel into the no neck pose.
Rex you caught Daniel by surprise with that MB lol.
I wanna try that Oaxaca Rye so badly now XD Also that Guam's Own is an affront to graphic design - Shoulda hired me lol.
I live about 3 hours from Wigle....Gonna have to get me some of that
Dear Magnificent Bastards,
We’ve seen top 10 budget bourbons, top 10 underrated, etc. I’d love to see your TOP TEN BOURBONS. Price is not a factor. Maybe even top ten expensive bourbons (over $100/barrel). Either way, keep up the fight!

The way Daniel pronounces Oaxaca just makes me go berserk lol
I was gritting my teeth badly. It’s like DANIEL!! YOU ARE IN TEXAS!! Wa-ha-ka!!!
"The bandwidth of the whisky." Rex is, very occasionally, a genius.
First, you guys trick me into buying whiskey, and now I need to buy that shirt.
Any chance you guys could review Ardbeg Drum?? I just saw it today in my local store, so I know it’s available.
Hey guys... Could you review Oban Little Bay please?
You guys should do a review of Jack Daniel's Legacy 1905!
Rauchbier as a whisky? I was thinking about that when I tried ardbeg 10 for the first time. Comic sans yes!
This is begging for a "the printer is broken" or "toilet out of order" puns on the label.
Hafadai!!!!! I think that's how you say hi in guam
Rex and Daniel if you guys haven't already I would really like to see you do a comparison of jack daniels black label, single barrel, and gentlemen jack. My aunt prefers gentlemen and I prefer single barrel. I am very new to drinking whiskey as anything other than shots and respect your opinion
They have done Jack Single Barrel search for the video.
Was that the most obscure Impractical Jokers reference ever? What does that mean?

When did each of you start drinking whiskey and what whiskey "popped your cherry"?
I'm pretty sure this has been covered before, but I've slept and drank sense then, so! Is Daniel just super short or is rex freakishly tall? The thoughts that keep you up at 4:40am. ....
How about some of the Kirkland Signature branded Highland, Speyside, 12 year blended scotch. There are man so any would satisfy.
We need the mooch necklace back!!!!!
Divine 16 was a malt or porter I believe
What happened to the mooches necklace?
Is it possible to distill whiskey and age it in barrels at one’s home? If I wanted to, could I just buy some moonshine and age it in an oak barrels to make my own whiskey? Could I get an at home beer making kit and (instead of making beer) distill it to make whiskey to age?

New font for your "do not buy this whiskey"... Wingdings.

Is it Oaxaca or Osaka?
“Oh-Axe-Haka”. Good ole Texas pronunciation-ism
What does that mean that a batch number doesn't mean anything?
Batch number is not legally defined. So l could call my first batch batch 100, and nothing could be done legally.

At a wedding and the bar tender gave me whiskey in a martini glass. Just thought I would share that with like mind whiskey lovers.

I've slapped four chickens today already... *sips coke*
How far a long are guys on donated bottles? Dropped one off last week, interested to see what you guys think.
We dropped ours off on 2-7 and they reviewed it today. Not sure if that helps or not.

comic sans is my favorite font!
My dad uses Comic Sans un-ironically
Check out jokerman font, that's a bad one and would match bad whiskey
Oh-ah-zakah 😂😂😂
Łukasz is pronounced "Woo-kash" :)
SteveShivik and the last name “ Coh-pee-tc-kee”
Ok. Ok. I just deleted my rant about the pronunciation of Oaxaca. I'm guessing it's an Austin thing-a to mispronounce things. I was just about to drop the knowledge on you until you started reading and said it right.

Oh wait, I do: whiskey.
For those of you who want in on the Papyrus joke:
th-cam.com/video/jVhlJNJopOQ/w-d-xo.html
Anyone else nerdy enough to think that beer sounds Klingon? Lol, I know, it's probably German, but I'm a nerd.
Thumbs down a whiskey vault video?! Dick move, man. Dick move...😂
Captain Morgan spice rum
Love you guys but I hate Daniel's empty hands during the Bastarding. HOLD SOMETHING YOU BEARDED WIZARD!!
It's pronounced WA- HA- KA
Google "Comic Papyrus". Somebody put them together.
Daniel not in the usual black tee?! No no no take it off you're ruining everything!!!!
3 that dont know, 3 thumbs down... guess they watched
Have you tried Chattanooga Whiskey yet? If not I’ll send you a bottle as they’re just down the road from me.
ra-ow-ghhhh-be-ya (rauchbier)
First!!
Of course the Polish one got proofed down. Them Polish are cheep!
Ben Jalowiec , dude my thought exactly. That special Polish aptitude to foocking-up on the very end :D
If it's a German word and you don't know how to pronounce it. Take your closest guess, then try again but this time 40% more angry.
Doesn´t work that way, cause the Word "Rauch" have some smooth spellings as well. Greetings form Germany. :D
"O-a-zaka"??? Come on man.....
Southern German = "raush," Northern German = "rauk"
Again. Daniel not in black. So unsettling.

Sorry about the caps, I was coding cell references in Excel. Don't have time to take the caps lock off, SORRY! I made it though!

"Earl Grey tea thats been cooled off" GTFO here, just say black tea note god damnit
Well, now, Earl Grey isn't just 'black tea.' It's flavored with bergamot. Not the same as a black tea note.
And to think there’s not that many chicken slapping jokes today. #Disappointed
