One-on-one with Dr. Brook Taye, Director General Ethiopia Capital Markets Authority, on the country's budding capital market www.businessdailyafrica.com
Great questions and well answered 👏 thanks both. The future is in Africa, whether we like it or not. Ethiopia's market with over 126 million people will definitely be a big boom for the retail market and the international market 👌 👍
Allowing retail investors to be VCs is balls idea. It is very risky but if it succeeds it could be revolutionary. But if retails investors can invest in a startup idea through national security exchange what would be need for sandboxes.
any market is a real market if there is no government involvement in it (at least on the transaction ) but in Ethiopia the government can put its hands on any thing with out any legal cover so how can any one trust the authority with its investment
what are you talking about if you have and other personal issue with the government just keep it for your self but you couldn't deny this government is the first who make this happen in our country Ethiopia !
@@Hayelom.g You're catching feelings over reality. Ethiopia has defaulted on sovereign debt and has quite stringent foreign exchange and repatriation measures. I really wish the best for Ethiopia but let's not discount the past.
