- Sherl L. Streeter has been the featured speaker at various educational, faith-based, and community events. She retired in 2009 as a Senior Executive in the federal government after over 30 years in various management positions in Sales, Operations, Finance, and Marketing across the nation in Arlington VA, Pittsburgh PA, Washington DC, and Houston TX. As a Lead Volunteer and spokesperson for the AARP Capital Hill Strike Force and AARP Maryland Support Staff since 2011, she speaks to public groups and advocates before Congress and the Maryland State Senate for legislation to support issues favorable to citizens over the age of 50. She also volunteered as a Legacy Leader in the Maryland State Senate Office of Baltimore 40th Senate District to help legislators connect to their constituents. She works with local nonprofits that support mental health issues and with the Prince Georges County MD public school system as a Parent Leader.She is married to Rev. Terry D. Streeter, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Washington DC where she has held positions of Church Librarian, Sunday School and VBS teacher, Deaconess, Church Clerk, Director of Women’s Ministry, and Missionary. Mrs. Streeter serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Mt. Pleasant Educational Development Nonprofit Corporation since 2012. It is a nonprofit focused on educational and career development programs for youth and underemployed adults. Mrs. Streeter has served as the Dean of Education for the Northeast Region of the International Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows and is currently Editor of its quarterly publication, The HERALD. She is a native Texan with a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University and degrees in Technology Management and Communications from University of Maryland.
