Several years ago after we were several miles away from a hotel we had left in Texas and my 7 year old daughter discovered she could not find her beloved little stuffed sheep dog beanie baby. We called the hotel and they found only what they referred to as "paperwork" in a drawer in our room and offered to mail it to us but did not find her stuffed puppy. The package from the hotel arrived and all of the paperwork turned out to be unneeded travel brochures I had accidentally left in the drawer! She soon found her puppy in a pillowcase. She forgot she had put him in there for safekeeping! She is 22 and has moved to another city, but her puppy, Happy, is still sitting on a shelf in her bedroom in my house.

    My additions....
A collapsible mesh laundry basket to carry clothes back from the laundry room.
    Travel-sized Lysol.
Vinegar to clean the coffee pot!
    Mini-Moo's for our coffee.
A flashlight and bed bug spray. I don't know if it works but I'm willing to risk it!
I love all of your tips!
    Keep 'em coming!

I liked that hanging laundry basket idea and the one for shoes. We had to do some extended stay at a hotel over this past summer. Thank God for Pinterest. I found a tip to use the ironing board as a table when one of the places we stayed in at first was smaller and only had a desk instead of an actual table. I sat both of my boys (8 and 2) at the end of the bed and put the ironing board in from of them and they were able to eat their lunch, etc.

    I love those tips!
My family always brings our own sheets to put over the nasty hotel ones.
We also worry about the little one falling out of the bed so what we did was actual ask for more pillow and blankets then took the cushions of the couch and let her lay there. Or you can always ask for a crib from the hotel!
Another great tip is to have a check list for the last day to make sure you have everything.

I dont travel ANYWHERE with out my own sheets and clorox wipes. My kids think that I am nuts but before we even unpack I re -clean the room and re make the beds and re-cover the pillows with pillowcases from home. Makes me feel better.

Great Tips! We always check the room before leaving but one trip to Disneyland I had my glasses on hand put them down on the bathroom counter while I check the room and walk out and left them behind lol since I had just walked out of the bathroom i didn't go back there and w little ones is easy to forget. I called the hotel and they said they would check w housekeeper I called again after a day or two of no response and they just kept saying they have to find out. At the end they said nothing was left behind. I don't understand who would want a prescription pair of glasses lol but oh well lesson learned.

I went on a trip to Idaho and when i was doing my laundry, i realized i left my laundry bag of a few clothing items. We stayed at a few hotels. After calling a few, i reached the right one. Fortunately the gal was super nice, found the bag while i was on the phone, and stated she would mail it. I thanked her for being so nice and professional. Also one time i got home and received a call from a hotel we stayed at. The hotel called me and informed me i left a blouse and they would send it. I really need to do a better sweep of the room. Thanks for sharing

Great tips! My kids are all grown up now but I still do several of the things you shared when it's just hubby and I staying at a hotel! Just to add a tip to your great list, I always bring hand soap (pump kind) from home instead of using the bar soap at the hotel. It's so much less messy!!

Good tip about towel bumper. Last time that we traveled and stayed at the hotel with kids I pushed the bed or the matress all the way to the wall that is on the side and my 4 months old slept there by that wall with no problem. Also I used extra pillows that was on the bed and put them next to him so I wont roll over to him it worked so well.

Just found this channel! New sub! We have five little ones. My tip is to make more sleeping space for the kiddos. If i lay them across the bed so they're sideways from the traditional way, I can easily fit four in one bed. My oldest is about to get too tall for this to work much longer, but it surely is helpful for us now! Thanks for sharing all your tips!!

Tuck the bedsheet under the mattress to Help your kids from falling out
I always stick grocery and trash bags in the side pocket of my suitcases .
You can ask the hotel for extra bags too
Poo-pourie is essential for a shared bathroom
I don’t unpack unless I am staying there for more then 3 days and minimize what drawers I use
A big binder clip as often u need the curtains completely closed and they don’t and light comes in too early.
I keep the bathroom light open and the door slightly open so there is light in the room

I always bring a trash bag or two for dirty laundry. I also bring a small fan because I can't sleep in a silent room! 😊 I made a note on my phone as a master packing list. It really helps me remember things to bring. I add miscellaneous things for specific trips as I think of them and delete them later if they don't pertain to general trips. Love Mom hacks!

What you should do is that if when you travel you show get the maximum of 3 suit cases the first suit case is for the kids since they are little they dont have big cloths so they dont need there own separate cases and the second suit case for you and your husband make it a large size and the 3 is a empty suit case for when its time to leave you put all your dirty cloths in there and you dont have to worry about cleaning the clean cloths again.

It so funny that you said you left your doll. My daughter did too when she was little and we didn't realize until we were on they way to the airport. We called the hotel and they found it and took the time to mailed it to us. I thought that was so sweet of them. I give them 5 stars for that one. And she was so happy when it arrived a few days later in the mail. ❤

I always designate one dresser drawer for shoes. Contains the shoes and the smell. I wipe it out with a client wipe when done.
