    LG is a really good brand for washing machine , they are long lasting. We have a top loader with direct drive for the past 6 years. My grandparents who live in Hyderabad have a 10+ year old lg front loader with direct drive..

      Yes indeed. My 15 ½ year old LG belt driven front load washing machine is still working fine.
      Thanks for sharing your experiences.

    What about steam ? How effective it is ? Is it used for all programs ?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Steam is effective in clothes which need to be disinfected. Ideally only cotton fabric is recommended for steam. In this machine it is there only in one program - Baby care. Thanks.

    Ma'am every time despite loading properly my Bosch washer bangs slightly during spin start and spin end. Could you please show a demo on how to avoid unbalanced loads?

    • @BhuvanaAdi

      I know loading is a bit tricky. I'll definitely make a video to demonstrate that. Thanks for your request. I'll do it at the earliest.

      @@BhuvanaAdi and just curious. What made you choose LG direct drive? Belt drive is proven reliability. Direct drive I am hearing a lot of mixed opinions. Is direct drive of LG as reliable as a Bosch belt drive with inverter motor?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually my son purchased it. He was going for a small capacity machine (around 6 kg) and budget was the main consideration. He got LG at the best price on models of this size. And it turned out to be a sleek one. I think LG makes only direct drive machines now. Bosch belt drive sure must be good but they were at a higher price. As far as LG direct drive is concerned, it comes with a 10 year warranty.

    • @San-tp8ss
      @San-tp8ss 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BhuvanaAdi oh okay. Yes, if budget is one of the criteria, LG is a better pick. Bosch lower end models don't come with a lot of features. Not even pre wash. Korean brands always offer a good bang for your bucks. Based on some reviews, I see LG direct drive has a good reliability rating. May be as far as the negative reviews are concerned, the users must have handled it badly (overloading, not leveling the floor). One suggestion Bhuvana ma'am - pls ensure that the balcony is rain/direct sun light proof. These appliances have metal body. Exposing them to dampness and harsh conditions may damage them externally and these are not covered under warranty

    14:09 did you say to put large sheets in the centre of the drum to avoid imbalance?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. This is what I have been following for the past 24 years of using Front Load washing machine, whenever I load heavy items like quilts, large bedsheets etc. and have found it effective.

    • @johndoe-vc1we
      @johndoe-vc1we หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BhuvanaAdi it makes sense but don't you find the items move around during the wash. Earlier I used to spread bedsheets in the drum only to find they became one big lump which then can cause an imbalance.
      Then I started balling each sheet separately so they would not congeal together and it's a little better.
      Either way seems to work and I get imbalances from time to time. Not figured out a sureshot way to avoid imbalance as yet.
      Avoiding or reducing imbalances is a sure way to reduce wear and tear on the machine.
      I was intrigued with your idea of spinning the drum before closing the door. Never seen anyone do that before 😊

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @johndoe-vc1we yes, one big lump happens only if you combine big sheets with very small items like pillow, cushion covers etc.
      When I have to put just one large bedsheet or a quilt, I use this technique of loading in the centre.
      Rotating before closing the door ensures whether the load is balanced.
      Of course, in spite of my methodical approach of loading, I do face some imbalance sometimes, in some cycles, while spinning.

      For me each day is a learning experience.
      I try to apply science coupled with my own. logic and common sense. And mostly things have been working fine with most of my appliances and gadgets in my house. And this has helped them work for many years.
      Actually, I have an idea of making a video on how to make appliances last long.

      It's quite simple. Let's say it is 8:30pm and you would like the wash to finish by 6:30am. You select the program and settings you want and for time delay choose 10:00 or ten hours. You can't choose half hour intervals only hourly.

      Hi, do you wash your clothes on high temperature cycles? You have to choose the program and temperature based on the fabric. Some fabrics tend to fade if washed above 40 ⁰C.
      Please follow the wash instructions given in the fabrics before washing them.
      Please watch the below video in which I have explained about sorting clothes and how to select programs based on the sorted clothes.

Please use good quality branded detergent like Ariel, Surf Excel, etc. Do not use ordinary detergent. They could also be the cause for colour fading. My only quibble is this is a small capacity machine. For a newly wed they should have chosen a larger capacity. Depth of 46 cm means smaller volume drum. A depth of 56 cm would be preferable. Bigger is always better. It means fewer washes which means less wear & tear and ultimately longer service life

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your suggestion. It was a decision based on their requirement and budget. For 2 persons, 7 kg machine is more than sufficient, in spite of the depth.
      We have been using a 6.5 kg LG washing machine for 15+ years now. All these years we have been washing a full clothes load of 4-5 persons every day, running up to 10 cycles on an average per week. The washing machine is still going strong.

    • @johndoe-vc1we
      @johndoe-vc1we หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BhuvanaAdi the rated weight is a moving target and not meaningful. What I'm getting it is the drum volume which is not mentioned anywhere. If you take a measuring tape, I think you will find the volume of your older machine to be larger than the one you have chosen for your son. The external depth of your older machine must be close to 60 cm. Whereas here it's smaller.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johndoe-vc1we yes, I do know that the depth of our machine is 60 cm.

    • @johndoe-vc1we
      @johndoe-vc1we หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BhuvanaAdi something I've noticed with higher end LG's. They have the shorter depth of 46 cm but the drum is actually larger. So volume wise it matches a machine with depth 55 cm.
      LG has different tiers. z2/z4/z5/z7/z9 in the model number. The z7 & z9 are the ones I'm referring to.
      Downside is they come with tinted doors which is unacceptable to me and only in dark grey so no white option. In India at least.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @johndoe-vc1we you have aroused my curiosity. I can try to find out the volumes by measuring the diameter of both the drums. Thanks.
