Hello Maam, can you help me out? I would like to have all your Unit 5 Slides so that I can practice without internet. Any link to download would be great. Please I need it asap because I have exam in January. THANK YOU❤

    At 41:06 why can’t the answer be A ?

FeSo4 gives 1mole Fe2+ , Fe2(So4)3 give 2 mole of Fe3+ . Question is asking original solution for mixing which will make conc for both Fe2+ and Fe3+ to be 1mol/dm-3 . it says volume is equal for both solutions so let it be 1dm3 for each . Now we calc conc for Fe2+ and Fe3+ will get 0.5 mol/dm-3 and and 1 mol/dm-3 as volume become 2dm3 after mixing . But we know that the conc, standard is 1 mol/dm-3. So we try double the solution for Feso4 which will give us 2 mole of Fe2+ and 1 mol/dm-3 of conc of Fe2+ . So answers is C .
Answer can not be A ,as 1 mole of FeSo4 give 1 mole of Fe2+ and 0.5 mole of Fe2(So4)3 give 1 mole of Fe3+ , and we haven’ divide the volume to give conc yet , so if we continue we will get 0.5 mol/dm-3 of Fe2+ and 0.5 mol/dm-3 of Fe3+ which is both not standard

But isnt the ecelll determined by subtracting the more positive value with the more negative value?? why did you add?

hey isnt anode supposed to be positive electrode and cathode supposed to be negative electrode ? 20:19

      For electrolysis, not cells

      Well,
First I thought anode is the positive electrode and cathode is the negative electrode,
But anode mean the electrode where oxidation occur and cathode is the electrode where reduction occur.
So in electrolysis oxidation occur in positive electrode so it's anode but in cells oxidation occur in negative electrode so the negative electrode in cells is the anode
      Hope this will help you
