That engine should have went 10,000 plus hours I use rotello oil but am sorry to watch you go thru this kind of luck I did have a problem with other brand oil filters once and Deere wanted to claim that is what cause me some heart ach
I think you said it was your bulk oil that was analyzed. It would be interesting to see the results of an analysis of the oil in the engine after it went bad.
It goes around to everyone i help a customer in sc he lost a cat 3406E i built 10. years ago then a 4020 engine and now 9986 cotton picker engine is hammering and incavhuge puff of smoke locked up. we will be doing an engine swap this week.
You need a low pressure shutoff, they're used in racing and the such. Pressure drops to a predetermined level it shuts down. It can save you! Hope things turn around for you.
Sorry, I don’t believe you have “bad luck”. 3 engine failures in such a short time is more than coincidence and deserves some investigating. Millennial Farmer just had an engine failure similar to your cotton picker engine failure. I was suspecting the oil because it’s a common denominator, fuel is another. Now, I watched Tony Fast Ag blow a wheelbarrow full of dirt out of an engine air prefilter, honestly it would have filled a bucket, it was dirt not dust. I have to believe some of that dirt gets into the engine. I know it would on a gas engine for sure and with the high compression of a diesel surely some gets past the rings into the crankcase? Anyway, I sure hope someone can solve this for you.
Good attitude. So far you got me beat on bad luck for this year. It’s not just Green paint Red breaks down too.
I love your positive attitude and I am convinced that tractor looked really sad as it departed. Here's hoping things turn around for you buddy!
