They had Andy Samberg AND Adam Sandler. Of course it was gonna be hilarious! And Adam Sandler had so many comedy movies that had you laughing and crying, it's a no brainer!
This movie is great to watch in October. Not only it’s a great satire of classic monsters, there is also so many celebrities. Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, just to name a few. I like how funny this movie is, and it’s a movie about monsters in a hotel.
The great thing about this series is that there are at least two or three sequels so if you ever need a bit of a palate cleanse after too much horror, you can systematically inject one or two of the sequels to help adjust your internal barometer
I always enjoy the reactions. I find 'Hotel Transylvania' to be a fun little movie, I love the more cartoony slapstick and of course the vision of Genndy Tartakovsky. Astounding that it's like this considering that it shuffled through about 5-6 directors before it went into full production. I actually prefer the sequels though, and would recommend them, despite what their "ratings" might be.
Oh my goodness!!!!! Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing!!! I took that same course when I was growing up!! I never thought I'd here someone else mention it again as long as I lived!
If you like more comedic Halloween movies, I would recommend 1, Young Frankenstein 2, Warm Bodies (I like this one its like a romantic comedy but from a zombies point of view, or 3, Hocus Pocus.
If you need an October break, a couple of theme-appropriate comedies are (ranked list): "Death Becomes Her" (1992) Bruce Willis, Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn "Shadow of the Vampire" (2000) Willem Dafoe, John Malkovich, Carey Elwes "Elvira Mistress of the Dark" (1988) Cassandra Peterson "Elvira's Haunted Hills" (2001) Cassandra Peterson "Tremors" (1990) Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Michael Gross, Reba McEntire, Ariana Richards "So I Married An Axe Murderer" (1993) Mike Myers, Nancy Travis "Hexed" (1993) Claudia Christian
If you want something different, there's an American cult classic by the title, 'They Call Me Bruce.' It has a lot of pop culture that you aren't likely to get (they're mostly from 1970's TV, my dad had to explain them to me) but it is REALLY funny even if you don't get those. Its basically about a Chinese guy who...well he isn't stupid exactly, but he's really naive. The main thing he has going for him is that he looks like Bruce Lee. He does know _a _*_little_* kung fu but mostly bluffs his way through fights. Oh and he unknowingly works for the Italian mob.
Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez are all singers. Andy is part of a group called "Lonley Island". Also a funny movie with Andy is "Popstar: Never stop never stopping". Funny original music and alot of cameos
Last year, I was in Transylvania, touring one of Dracula's castles. A lot of European tourists were there all speaking different languages. A woman saw something with a picture of Dracula on it and immediately goes "bleh bleh bleh"
There are 4 of them but i have not seen the forth one yet any way I actually liked this one because it's not something you expect to see in a movie and it brings are the favorite monsters to one place as well. Happy Spooky season Mary it is my favorite holiday but sadly we don't celebrate it where I am living. I did celebrate it when I was younger though and still living in Canada.
@21:30 Dracula: Are you certain that if we came out in the open, everyone would accept us? NO, not everyone. BUT if you found Johnny here who can accept you, and isnt harmful, then there must be others. You dont have to open this hotel to everyone, but how about one group at a time. As word spreads, people will either return, or spread the word and have others visit. You can fight those that arnt accepting later, or avoid them all together. BUT dont shun all humans in general, especially if this one kid is obviously an exception. Technically, a frankenstein monster could also smell human. Thats because they are built with human parts. Same with zombies, who was human, and could still smell like that. The rat isnt wrong, but a human smell can be from a few different things.
I first saw this headline and thought you were doing TRANSYLVANIA 6-5000(New World Pictures, 1985), the erstwhile American/Yugoslav venture with Jeff Goldblum and Ed Begley, Jr. - which you might add to your Oct. List - it's a comedy, and not as creepy as KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE (MGM,1988), but might enjoy.
Hi Mary, for a less scary option consider the 1944 British film (The Halfway House) starring Mervyn Johns & his daughter Glynis. Best to watch it without research, if you do. Should you require any October suitable comedies, try the 1937 film (Topper), (Arsenic & Old Lace) 1944 both starring Cary Grant. For Colour films try, (Blithe Spirit) 1945 starring Rex Harrison or (Bell, Book & Candle) starring James Stewart. All have good supporting casts as well.
I really hope there will be a hotel Transylvania 5! And in the first movie Dennis would be a big brother to twin sisters! And he will name them Martha and Mina! One was named after their grandmother and the other was named after a character from The story book of Dracula! And I could picture Dracula calling his twin granddaughters his little black cats!🐈⬛🐈⬛
tbf Drac had lost his wife to the kind of humans that he was showing Mavis with the Zombies at the start, how would he have known that humans would mellow out since when he lived in isolation? personally, i find his actions justified.
It’s actually Frankenstein’s Monster. Because “Frankenstein” is his father/creator Dr. Frankenstein in the original universal monsters movie & the book it’s based on & in this universe as well which won’t be mentioned in this movie but if I remember correctly then the second one will mention that. Common misconception though so I don’t blame you for getting the name wrong in the beginning of the video
One of the best movie franchises to watch during spooky season in my opinion, also my favorite characters from this movie are Mavis, Johnny and Griffin 💕🎥🎃🦇

You should pace the sequels to this out so they're a palate cleanser for the rest of the month lmao
My only 3 favourite Cartoon animations was the Hotel Transylvania, Kung Fu Panda and Megamind
5:42 Name of song please?.
It's amazing how this movie is able to shift from hilarious to heartfelt and back again and still have it all feel natural.
Movie came out when I was 12, almost 23 now, craaazy
They had Andy Samberg AND Adam Sandler. Of course it was gonna be hilarious! And Adam Sandler had so many comedy movies that had you laughing and crying, it's a no brainer!
@@yourstruly.calbertI was 8 years old when this came out, this a classic no doubt
Same with batmanfan76
This is a great movie. Dare I say 'perfect'? It executes what it's trying to do. And keeps you entertained the whole time.
Mary does not think it's great
Frankenstein's wife is voiced by Fran Drescher, Fran from The Nanny.
Great movie! :)
"Bleh bleh bleh" is actually a reference to Bela Lugosi, a famous vampire actors accent in early Hollywood times.

Frankensteins wife is voiced by fran drescher, from the series "The Nanny", so yeah, she is very recognizable 😁
“It’s Halloween so I don’t want to go too hard at the beginning.” Proceeds to go marshmallow
I personally found this hilarious and a good story.
When I hear Adam Sandler as a bat go "bluh bluh bluh-bluh" something in my heart sings.
BLEH BLEH BLEH 😂 Bring on The Spooky Season!!
I always enjoy the reactions. I find 'Hotel Transylvania' to be a fun little movie, I love the more cartoony slapstick and of course the vision of Genndy Tartakovsky. I agree with that last sentence 👌
Excellent choice to start off the Spooky Season and this is a total love letter to the Universal Classic Monsters
The only thing I miss that my ex wife took from me is the plush bat I had from this movie LMAO 🤣🤣🤣❤
Oh my goodness!!!!! Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing!!! I took that same course when I was growing up!! I never thought I'd here someone else mention it again as long as I lived!
17:07 Haha it does not work that way but for the sake of the moment I'll just ignore the physics and roll with it.
24:29 I know!! Right?! Poor Gal....... 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔
A great vampire comedy for Halloween is What We Do In The Shadows
the best vampire comedy still is "The Fearless Vampire Killers aka The Dance of the Vampires" from 1967 by Roman Polansky...
If you like more comedic Halloween movies, I would recommend 1, Young Frankenstein 2, Warm Bodies (I like this one its like a romantic comedy but from a zombies point of view, or 3, Hocus Pocus.
My favorite part of this movie is Fran Dresher (The Nanny) voicing Frankenstein's wife.
Skeleton will smith “ keep your dam hands out of my damm wife” 😂🤣😂🤣😂
This Movie is Both Weird but Hilarious (It’s so Strange how that can Mix in and look good)

Last year, I was in Transylvania, touring one of Dracula's castles. A lot of European tourists were there all speaking different languages. A woman saw something with a picture of Dracula on it and immediately goes "bleh bleh bleh"
I don't say "blah blah blah!!!!"

Great reaction, thank you for sharing with us. Bleh ,bleh bleh.
Andy Samberg (Johnny) also played Ben Reilly aka Scarlet Spider in Across the Spiderverse.
There are 4 of them but i have not seen the forth one yet any way I actually liked this one because it's not something you expect to see in a movie and it brings are the favorite monsters to one place as well. Mary, if you want tamer scary movies for next year, please consider the scary movie series, you'll crack a rib from laughing so hard.
"I am the vampire Lestat, bleh bleh bleh." - Not Anne Rice
for this month i recommend "the mist". great horror themed movie but not super gory
Great reaction, I really like these movies and it great seeing other people react to it.

Slither is a great halloween movie.
Fire bad made me laugh so much and I will randomly say it whenever I see fire

For vampire movies in october I can recommend "Let Me In" from 2010 if you havent seen that one =)
I recommend the original, not that American remake.
Bride of Franklin Stein voice is Fran Dresher. The Nanny

Hi Mary. I always liked this movie. I haven't seen the third movie but I recommend the second movie because it was really good. Take care
Prepare yourself for the most overprotective father ever! 😂
I feel like this is just animated version of grown ups
It’s Spooky Month!
I only watched this because I knew it was basically a comedy. Scary movies are not my thing.
tbf Drac had lost his wife to the kind of humans that he was showing Mavis with the Zombies at the start, how would he have known that humans would mellow out since when he lived in isolation? personally, i find his actions justified.
you need to watch the 2ed one now.... just as good =)
If you want a good animated thriller, watch Perfect Blue...
This is good but I really enjoyed the 2nd one more
Nice👊👊👊👊

19:49 Mavis and Johnathan are Already Engaged at This Point.
mavis did something to me when i saw this movie....
Isn't Quasimodo human too? And what about Griffin? He's just invisible, that's it
Adam Sandler & Andy Sandburg reunited again in That's My Boy.
It’s actually Frankenstein’s Monster. Because “Frankenstein” is his father/creator Dr. Frankenstein in the original universal monsters movie & the book it’s based on & in this universe as well which won’t be mentioned in this movie but if I remember correctly then the second one will mention that. Loved this 😂
Can you watch Hotel Transylvania 2
One of the best movie franchises to watch during spooky season in my opinion, also my favorite characters from this movie are Mavis, Johnny and Griffin 💕🎥🎃🦇
He said the hotel or they have lived since 1898 he did not say the year was 1898
