    Was excited when I saw these Pro2Pro episodes - thought they were going to be a more pro focussed version of Ask This Old House. But they just seem to be a platform for selling Festool tools and nothing else.

    That was pretty informative, I do framing here In nyc but it’s all metal studs. I’ve always been into woodworking and festool, that seems like a great job at that shop

      Joshh Rodriguez josh metal framing is normally used for commercial fire rated applications or commercial period. Most buildings are commercial but homes are not. I don’t know the code for NY but it is similar everywhere, look into doing residential framing if you want to work on wood but metal is also really easy if you have the right tools.

      John Wesley Hardin you’re right, I’ve worked on residential before, never really worked with festool on a job site, mostly bc people want quantity over quality around where I work. This video seems like they take their time and do everything the way it should be

      @@crucialjosh5951 id say TOH has a decent sponsorship with festool. i see it everywhere almost. on my condo the interior wall is metal framed. perimiter is concrete for fire safety. and sound deadening.

    I worked up a saw rig similar to the product shown here back in the 90’s because I was new and couldn’t cut a straight line to save my life. I caught so much grief because “a real cut man doesn’t need all that”. My makeshift saw thing was very rudimentary compared to that awesome piece of equipment they highlight here. I can’t wait to get one.
    Is anyone else uneasy about that foam center header?

    how do you frame a wall that is not straight i have this wall in one of my houses so i am trying to re-frame this one wall in a dinning room that was made from what used to be a porch, yes i had to level it but that is done, now if just need to frame it with two existing windows but the wall is not plume, if anyone could send me some feedback or link to how to that would be great.

    Pre assembling a wall in the shop is also nice because it's at waist level. You don't have to bend over for the whole 8 hour day framing a walls on the deck killing your back.

    how much time does it save, well it saves alot of time. , okaaaay my friend but how much compared to on site construction? i believe that was the queston the person posed.

  • @scallywag1716
    @scallywag1716 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's no solution to the window mounting issue with exterior insulation? Seems like this could be the easiest challenge to fix and keep that insulation on the outside for best application.

      $1000 for a saw and track? Grossly over priced. And what's with all those plastic boxes? Festool boxes take up so much valuable shop space. But I guess they think they have to give you something for the over charge on their plastic tools.

    • @kencoley1likes
      @kencoley1likes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I want to say, 3-4 years ago I saw a generic track that you could buy for any saw. I saw it in Lowe's. I have not seen it since but, I have not really looked either. There are several brands now that I have looked online. Dewalt, Rockler and Kreg. www.kregtool.com/store/c48/saw-attachments/p425/accu-cuttrade/?source=5186&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4aXiBRCRARIsAMBZGz_-UygR4SKHmq-Yx6yZZzqoygSS-3Wt1ddH8ehjC3f8-C54Akz72nkaArS_EALw_wcB
      I think one is worth getting if you have a large project or building cabinets or something like that that requires perfectly straight cuts on large material.
      Also check this comparison. I always search for reviews and comparison before buying something major. You can also search TH-cam to see what if people have bough the product and what they think of it. That is always a good way to go.

    putting that foam insulation between two pieces of wood is not a very good idea because the moister that comes from inside will be stuck there and make big problems between the wood. The rule is that the material must be from more intense to the less intense from inside to outside, then the moister can escape not stuck there and cause problems.

    • @TheCDubuque
      @TheCDubuque 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around 19:00 he says they spray closed-cell foam on the inside for vapor barrier. I do think sheets of insulation on the outside is the way of the future, though, so they should spend some time engineering a solution for that.

      @@johnwesley6929 Milwaukee is fine. But Im a gc so i find my self doing a little hvac, a little framing, a little finish carpentry. putting up some cabinets. some plumbing and with the multi power selector the dewalt is actually good for all of it. Its really quite light and small for the power. its only $89 online for the bare impact driver.
      I like it allot, and Ive used festool, milwauke, hilti (which is overprices crap!), Snapon and dewalt- I like dewalt the best.

    • @thejohnhend
      @thejohnhend 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure why an impact driver is a good example of why dewalt is better than Festool when Festool doesn’t even sell an impact driver. If you compare like for like Festool is more refined and accurate. The dewalt tools we use at my business are always breaking and are no better than any of the competitors. I used my pdc drill to punch 3-5/8” holes with a hole saw through double 2” thick old growth 80 year old joists and it didn’t break a sweat when you would normally have to use a stud and joist right angle drill. I think my dewalt would be fried
