  • 🦌Stan and Rhonda from Over The Hill Adventures step Into The Wild on this beautiful adventure as they explore Badlands National Park in South Dakota. In this episode from their most successful season to date, Stan and Rhonda finally reach one of their most coveted points of destination, the Badlands. However, they had to make a stop at the historic Wall Drug, and another to explore the free, popular Dispersed Camping spot known as the Wall. They quickly find out Badlands National Park can be done in a day. As you may have guessed, they find the token Bison at the Pinnacles Entrance of Badlands National Park. As they travel further into the park, they see a fair amount of beautiful wildlife amongst the canyons of the desolate Badlands. They continue their adventure into the wild and to their surprise find themselves on dirt roads as they head back to Hot Springs/Black Hills KOA. The next day Stan and Rhonda take their bikes on a scenic trail at Angostura Recreation Area and discover some AMAZING campgrounds within the state park. They offer a quick tour of the KOA HOLIDAY and introduce the new manager, Dakota.
    👏Come with Stan and Rhonda for a fun packed adventure as they continue Into The Wild in South Dakota.

    Oh my gosh! You guys gave us the hebbie-jeebies looking over that dangerous cliff!!! Wall Drug is always fun! And, by the way, my song would be “I’m a Believer” and “Daydream Believer” equally! Loved the Monkees as a kid! Lyle, my husband, said his would be “ Snoopy vs The Red Baron” by the Royal Guards Men! Thanks for another great video!

    Hi there Stan and Rhonda you said put a childhood song in the comments this is it. a song that comes to mind, its glen campbell "gentle on my mind ", its knowing that your door is always open and your path is free to walk. I loved that song as a child.🦬 and I love that you guys film the bison and other animals elks wow
    thanks so much I never get out. We stay very close to home these days and always on the phone with our 82 yr old mother in law and father in law praying for him to get better from cancer operation after operation Thank you both so much for the great video

    You are so right we did it in September last year and most of the time we were the only people there. Can’t wait to see your video on Spearfish it’s beautiful devils tower was amazing and I hope Stan got to go up and fold the flag at Mount Rushmore if you did the night lighting. Thanks From Wisconsin

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robert, unfortunately they were not doing the lighting ceremony when we were there. We did go there at night and we were there all by ourselves!! It was amazing!!! Just us and one ranger. Yes, Spearfish is next!! Although it rained for the whole time we were there we saw some amazing wild life and special stuff. The most amazing blessing is the weather cleared while we were at Devils Tower and socked in and stormed when we left. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda

    Wow! We saw a few camping at the wall, but we are with you guys we’d rather be in a campground with hookups especially with the pups. There was a dirt road that led us to Robert’s prairie dog town where we encountered a bunch of prairie dogs and bison. We were at the badlands white river koa. The views at Badlands were amazing. Being from Georgia the time difference helped us get an early start. We were done with the notch trail hike by 8:00am. We did the same thing with the cliff, we don’t feel so bad now. Great video guys. Butch and Becky

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Butch and Becky, we saw you did Notch Trail on your post!! 🙌👏 awesome job guys!! I think we saw that campground when we headed out of the back of the Badlands. We took dirt roads to see the southwest side of the Badlands then the dirt road back to Hot Springs. You definitely saw the best part. Thank you for joining us. Safe travels. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda

    I’ve camped at the “Wall” a few times and will be in next week. Never been there when it’s not windy.
    I’ve got I-80 out of Evanston eastbound to break my axle. (Last week! 🤬) If you take it easy on the dirt road it’s better than a pothole at 60+ mph.
    Not a fan of Wall Drug. Definitely the correct definition of “tourist trap” but certainly something everyone need to see once.
    Stay safe!

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video as always. We will be traveling essentially the same route in a month staying for a week in Hot Springs and then moving north. We will be staying on the wall next to the Badlands although I suspect it will be a lot more crowded when we get there in mid-July. The game of tether ball brought back memories from years ago. Safe travels.

    As a kid living in southwestern Pa. I have never seen or heard of Tetherball. It wasn''t until my family and i moved to Tucson Az at age 14 that my new friends introduced me to this game at my middle school. It seemed as tho every school in Tucson had Tetherball. I have since moved back to my southwestern Pa. Hometown and the schools still do not have that game. Crazy to think just how popular it is out west and not back east.

    Just found you guys. We are researching going to South Dakota soon. We are planning on staying around Custer and also boondocking at the Wall Badlands. We recently had our last dog go to heaven and have one cat traveling with us. We are thinking of spending several weeks in the western portion of SD. Do you think this is enough time to leisurely see all the sites? BTW really enjoying your videos.

      Hello Carolynn, so sorry to hear about your dog. Thank you for joining us. We our releasing our special itinerary video at 4:00pm Phoenix time today! It’s called South Dakota don’t miss out. It will have lots of information for you. Make sure you have a pen and paper. We have lots of great information. The Wall Is a great place to boondock but it is not centrally located. Watch our video and tell us if it has enough information for you. We think several weeks is more than enough time. South Dakota has become one of our favorite places. We spent a little over three weeks in South Dakota only because a lot of areas were not open yet. Hope this helps 🙏🏼 Stan and Rhonda ❤️
