I'm quite new to hockey and only have been playing for a year, but the thing that usually helps me to dive in is to keep yourself active and keep the flow of adrenaline, this helps you to think more about saving the ball rather than about diving itself. I find that when I dive, most of the time it's more of a muscle rather than intentional. So, my advice is to keep yourself active by lightly bouncing on your toe as that will keep you vigilant and make you more focus on the ball rather than the dive itself, hope this will help
The decision statement makes perfect sense, I do it all the time especially the half stick planted foot problem. I find I am more likely to dive if think there is less of a chance of a quick rebound simply as I feel more expose trying to get back up after a dive.
@Dennis, thank for showing that stick dive as ive been teaching junior keepers that technique and being told it is wrong as they’re not going with their hip first
Would like to see a video on goalie movement and positioning when attacker receives the ball around the penalty shot or dribbles towards this area and shoots in context of a crowded zone not a 1 vs 1 situation
Thanks for this, could you do a video on how to cover your angles, and decision making on when to come out of your "line" to attack and when to stay on your line, how to deal with intercepting balls injected in and an attacker waiting to deflect it in...hope that all made sense :p
I use the club kit which is Gryphon but I’ve tried on the obo robot in a match the other day and they feel really good also can you get an obo deflector globe that you but your hand through in the middle not in the back? But the obo ones felt best so I might go with those
I have a bit of a mix but most of mine is obo. If you have other keepers in the club ask if you can try theirs out. But you really can’t go wrong with obo. But like he said comfort is key! If you feel comfortable and confident in your kit you’ll have the confidence to make saves. Do the afraid to mix and match! I think I might get tk leg guards next time as I prefer the kickers.
I am also goalie ...... I am also felt that low corner balls are very difficult to save... But now i think that it is easy to save such balls... And i have one more question... That is.. If the ball is deflected by the opponent what should i do???
3:23 great block! I used to watch these videos all the time and just came back and they are good.
And I just want to say that you are a great coach
Its hard to encourage yourself to dive for the save. If not, then its just me.
You keep on telling yourself to dive. When the opportunity to dive comes, you don't. I can relate!!!
Verstand op 0 en op de bal duiken

That's cheating on the initial game. She's not catching the stick to her right, but her own. ^^
