      @@humbertoribeiro3192Thunder Ranch was honestly a part that Disney never really knew what to do with. It’s not really the same thing. It was originally just excess space on the Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland. The Rivers of America were slightly downsized, but the Imagineers made the land along it more beautiful than ever. It’s decidedly different from gutting the rivers of America entirely and replacing them with CARS of all things

      @@humbertoribeiro3192 The big difference is thats Disneyland has very limited space and therefore can't afford low density areas. But this is completely different with Magic Kingdom. They have unlimited expansion space, so why not just leave the more quite areas to the people who enjoy them? And even if you never went to the island, the island and river is still a beautifull backdrop for the land and adds so much flair. Unfortunately flair is something the current Disnely leadership has never herad of.

      This certainty won’t be on the cheap. Radiator Springs Racers at DCA is likely the same ride system and it is estimated to have cost +$200 million. The concept for this appears to be more ambitious than RSR, and will likely cost more, not even considering the cost of filling in the Rivers of America and demolishing Tom Sawyer’s Island. While it would have been nice if it went to undeveloped land behind Big Thunder, Tom Sawyer’s Island has been significantly declining in popularity along with the riverboat. So out of all attractions at MK, those two are were probably the best choices. In addition, it allows even more land to be available for Villains.

    What I really hate is how every park is just becoming an IP dumping ground for anything and everything. Like, the “theme” part of the theme parks is going away and it seems like anything goes these days. Pretty soon you won’t even be able to differentiate the difference between a park like Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom. It’ll just be a series of lands based on existing IPs that could be more or less interchangeable between the parks.
    I already don’t like how literally every addition to the parks must be based on existing IPs and not original ideas (so many of the greatest Disney attractions like the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Matterhorn, etc. are all original ideas not based on movies), but the overall homogeneity between the parks themselves is really becoming a massive issue in my mind. Cars, for instance, doesn’t belong or fit into Frontierland at a Magic Kingdom-style park. Doesn’t make any sense at all. I truly cannot stand Disney leadership as they continue to destroy everything great about their parks. It’s so incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

      That is exactly what Universal does, and everyone praises them for it. Any land from the new Epic Universe would fit in Islands of adventure, and vice versa. Specific areas can still try to maintain a theme, but the era of an entire theme park having a consistent theme is over. Animal Kingdom is still trying to at least incorporate animals in some way, and Epcot is... uh.. EPCOT, but Hollywood Studios and increasingly MK, is just a selection of lands that don't really have anything to do with each other.

    • @STSGuitar16
      @STSGuitar16 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@mushieslushie hey man, I just call it like I see it. Disney is supposed to be better than universal, yet I’m more excited about Epic than any of these Disney announcements. I also don’t think that the “theme” part of a park is something that should die. I hold the Disney parks to higher standards than becoming a mess of totally unconnected movie IP lands.
      You’re ignoring the historic aspect of a park like Magic Kingdom as well. It was Walt’s own creation and it does actually have a cohesive theme (not to mention the individual lands themselves having themes as well). Just because that’s how universal sometimes does things doesn’t mean it’s a good thing for Disney to do.
      The fact that MK _is_ on the brink of becoming a mess of unconnected IP doesn’t mean it’s the right move by leadership, and just because it’s happening doesn’t mean I have to like it or accept it. The integrity of the parks is increasingly being diminished, and that is a bad thing.
      Seeing Walt’s vision being trampled on solely for the sake of making money is something that I very much disagree with.

    I struggle to think of a worse place to put a ride themed to anthropomorphic talking cars. Having that area back up onto the water is such an important part of Magic Kingdom's design and provides so, soooo much ambiance for that place. Filling it in for crap that has nothing to do with the old west when they have plenty of other space to expand into is one of the worst ideas Disney has ever had. This is taking a hatchet to the design of the park. The fact that this idea ever made it off the whiteboard and got a public announcement should be an embarrassment to the company. This is catastrophically bad.
    Please, let this not happen! Put Cars in the open space behind BTMR. Fill in the back end of the RoA, not the front. Turn it into Tom Sawyer's Peninsula if you have to. Whatever. But please, please do not get rid of the part of the RoA that abuts Frontierland and Liberty Square! It provides so much for the park and people won't realize how big of a loss this is until the work walls come up. Yap about capacity and Tom Sawyer Island not being popular all you want. I don't care. Atmosphere and soul is what sets Disney parks apart from the rest, and bulldozing places that provide that in the name of capacity is a great way to lose that.

It doesn't fit the Frontier Land theme and is basically doing away with Frontier Land due to the size of this project. With Univeral’s Epic Universe opening up in 2025, I think a lot of once die hard Disney fans who spend lots of money and are fed up with things like this, are going to move on to other places.
