How can you deal with the issue of surface wrinkles after lamination?
When the film passes over the rollers or is applied to the substrate, wrinkles may appear. Contrary to what you might think, these irregularities are not caused by the film itself and can be easily corrected.
As the reel unwinds, the film generates tension with itself due to the peel force. This leads to minimal elongation and is normal.
The slight stretching produces undulations in the film. At the exit, or film application point, these undulations may close up to form creases.
To eliminate these effects, all that is needed is a spreader roller.
A bowed roller will be highly effective if it is correctly installed and adjusted. A brush roller can be a less demanding alternative that is effective in most cases.
Equipping your machine with a spreader roller will help you avoid issues with creases in the material.
