Whilst the droppings may attract more flies, that wouldn't be the primary use, as it isn't an efficient use of resources.
Nature amazes us in so many different ways. The tree shrug takes from the plant and gives something in return. A give and take policy in which no one gets harmed. So beautiful.

It is amazing that nature is able to determine for a fact that basically the Tree Shrew would and other mammals are likely to do this. I personally notice that when I do alot of upper body movements, like when I'm working, especially on construction sites, it stretches and compresses my lower abdomen, which causes it to relax... and I tend to fart alot.. or at least try to hold my poop in. I think if more people on site talked about this openly there would be more laughs and camaraderie, and understanding. And health! :).
