    Hi, again - now that my machine is cutting better, I'm wondering about replacement blades. I know with the bigger machines, you can buy Amazon blades fairly cheaply. The instructions with my CE-Lite 50 talk about replacing the whole blade holder, but not the individual blades in it - so they never list the part number for the blade. Do you have a source for the replacement blades? Paying $39-44 for a new blade holder/blade every time you need one seems crazy. Thanks!

      There are plenty of cheap generic blades made from chinesium lol They go by different "brand" names, but try searching for CBO9 or just Graphtec Blade. As far as I know all Cameo blades are compatible too. They are NOT the same quality, just cheaper.

    Great video! I just ordered a Graphtec CE7000-40 and I'm excited to get started with it. I read your description. I'm curious if I'll have the same issues. I'm on a mac, but I also run parallels so I can experiment if it behaves better on windows. I wonder if the issue is only with the CE Lite 50. If your curious, I'll let you know. I'm definitely gonna refer back to your video for setup.

      Congratulations on your purchase.
      I know it's very boring but if you take the time and read the manual carefully trying to understand it, the learning curve will be easier.
      Make sure to update the apps and drivers from the main manufacturer's website www.graphtec.co.jp 😉

    • @ANCAPVoluntaryist
      @ANCAPVoluntaryist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine were slightly off too, until I put them in the center of the big carier sheet.
      You have 2 other options.
      1. Move your design off.
      2. Use the compensation adjustments on the CE LITE screen menu.

    Hi - found this video while searching for help with my Graphtec CE-Lite 50. I use it mostly to cut out photos printed on Epson glossy roll paper stock. It works correctly sometimes, but very often the paper slips in it and the cuts are off by 1/8" inch or so. It will start out correctly, do a few cuts, then will be off and of course ruin all the photos on the sheet (16"W x 20-24"L). Do you know of any way to keep the paper from slipping, other than print on a backing sheet? I HAVE read all the manuals - and I've had it for about a year. I have some success, then it starts messing up sheets. Thanks - (sorry to reply to such an old video, but you seem to be responding to recent questions)

    • @ANCAPVoluntaryist
      @ANCAPVoluntaryist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On top of my head, try and group your pictures on smaller A4 / A3 sheets and cut them off the roll. The less the size of the sheet, the less the movement, the less the slipping and the resulting mistake.
      Other thing you can try is to apply paper masking tape on the two sides where the feeding rollers are, and see if the slipping reduces or hopefully disappears.
      Other thing you can try is to make sure that the roll you are cutting is absolutely levelled with the cutter, so it slides around with the less as possible friction eliminating the dragging friction weight of the sheet as much as possible.
      Come back with feedback :)

    • @LDBecker
      @LDBecker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ANCAPVoluntaryist Thanks! The software I print the pictures from on my Epson 4880 (Imageprint Rip) also drives the Graphtec. When printing for cutting on the Graphtec, the software leaves room on the side for the feed rollers and at the top and bottom for the registration marks and a bar code ("for future use"). If I only print on A4 or smaller sheets, I end up with very few pictures (5x7, 8x10, etc) on each sheet. I might try the masking tape trick, but that's a lot of work for something that is supposed to save me time. Kind of defeats the purpose. I would typically be printing 80 or so sheets of 16"x20" paper with photo prints. Is there some setting on the Graphtec machine that affects tracking? I am unclear about what the "Force" setting is for, but I gather it isn't for tracking.

    • @ANCAPVoluntaryist
      @ANCAPVoluntaryist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LDBecker
      Yes, it will defeat the purpose.
      The Force is for how much weight the blade applies.
      As far as know, all plotter cutters do some offset cut that increases with the lenght of the job /roll.
      I guess it would be better if you can separate the roll on different jobs each one with separate barcodes.

    • @LDBecker
      @LDBecker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ANCAPVoluntaryist Thanks - I appreciate your time. I think the glossy finish of the paper, the slight curl of the paper from being on the roll, and the minimal paper adjustments is causing me issues. I'm thinking of upgrading to the Graphtec CE7000-40 or -60. Hard to get right now, but found a company that has the 60 version in stock. I had my doubts about the CE-Lite 50 (anything with "Lite" in the name is problematic in my experience). Anyway, thanks!

      @ANCAPVoluntaryist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LDBecker We always have to do some compromise when the budget has limits ;)
      Increasing the size of the machine will do exactly what decreasing the size of the job will do in order to make the offset smaller.
      Maybe even go for a different brand.
      Roland comes to mind.

    Thank you so much for posting this! I've been trying to figure out why the contour cut is so iffy! and there's very little resources online.I've successfully cut A4 with your template!! You're a legend! I have a question, now that A4 cuts well, have you had any luck cutting A3 sizes? Do I use the same template since A3 is just double of A4 by resizing your template? Thanks in advance!

      Those are the printable (PVC) vinyls I tried on Epson R3000 printer working with pigment ink.
      The print will not smudge at all if exposed to water but it gradually fades away in a few months exposure to outdoor weather conditions, if not sealed with clear lacquer.
