Thanks Dave, just a question how do you normally Wire circuits in residential ? I have noticed you have sockets in RCD1 so assuming its ring circuit and RCD 2 has kitchen sockets so does that mean RCD1 sockets cover the entire properties upstairs and downstairs socket ? is that a good practice or can you tell me if you already made a video on this as I would like to see thanks

Usually we would have upstairs lights and downstairs sockets and shower on one RCD. Downstairs lights and upstairs sockets and cooker on the second RCD. If one RCD goes you still have lights in half the house. A bedside lamp can always be carried to the lounge. A kettle can always be boiled in a bedroom. Chinese takeaway if the cooker goes but the microwave should be ok if its on RCD one. hope this helps, Dave.

@@learnelectrics4402 Thanks for the clarification however I want to know , would you wire kitchen sockets separately or in the same downstairs sockets?

You can take it from the CU if there are spare ways. See our video EXTENDING CONSUMER UNITS for more information on using Henley Blocks with the link below
