I feel for Kieran the most. It's almost like he's the main character of the DLC, but things never seem to go his way. Even when he's clearly the best candidate to inherit Ogrepon due to his families history, and how he was the only one who stood by Ogremon through thick and thin, being the only skeptic to question the validity of th fable. He knew the truth the whole time, even before meeting Ogrepon, he knew she was innocent. It's almost like he's the reincarnation of his ancestor, yet, since we're the player, we get to keep it. Ogrepon having no personal ties to us, we essentially just swoop in and take her when it was Kieran's lifelong dream to be their friend. I hope they give us an option in the next DLC to let Ogrepon stay with Kieran and only use her when we need her. This reminds me of Zinnia, a😅nd how she was dealt. I feel awful for both of them, and I feel like the greedy antagonist in their stories. Hopefully in the next DLC, we see him emerge as a champion with his own signature legendary. Who knows? Maybe he'll be N's protege.
While Kieran has a personal tie with Ogerpon, the thing is that he barely interacted with Ogerpon herself in the story. He usually does the behind the scene work while we as the protagonist are actively traveling with and helping Ogerpon get her mask back. Just because your family has a deeper and more personal connection means nothing unless you actually bond with the actual pokemon like the protagonist and Carmine did. I feel bad for Kieran too but he never went out of his way to bond with Ogerpon like we did so he comes off slightly entitled and selfish when Ogerpon chose to come with us.
I wholeheartedly agree with this but even so, I can’t help but feel bad for Kieran as well. 💀💕 It’s saddening, surprising and fascinating to see characters like Kieran having these types of storytelling. I also find Ogerpon a very fascinating Pokémon just from her backstory alone and yet picking on her feels cruel and she doesn’t even deserve this!!! 😰😭💕
If finishing the Paldea storyline beforehand... The protagonist is already champion rank, with the area zero stuffs. A good cut above the average after the professor questline, doesn't really feel like Keiran ever really stood a chance in brute forcing it. That alone doesn't really feel like what won Ogrepon over either though, to me it felt alot like the luck of the draw that we saw her first, first during the festival and her dropping the mask that started the entire thing while Keiran was outside the loop... And then felt betrayed we wouldn't tell em the truth. Definitely feel sorry for him, and especially since it was alot. Being at the right place at the right time that started the entire thing off, could've just aswell been Keiran who saw her during the festival. Then again from another standpoint... Which will sound harsh, if he cared for Ogrepon and wanted what's best for it, he should consider her wishes aswell more than his own desires.
I like the take how you catch Ogerpon and Bloodmoon Ursaluna. I think this should be the best way to catch legendaries instead of throwing masterballs/quickballs on the first turn or wasting half your balls in your inventory because the stupid mon won't stay in a single ball. (Catchrate 3 legendaries in a nutshell) Legendaries should be immun to every Pokéball type until they are on zero HP. Now you have the chance to 1. Finish them of with another attack to end the battle or 2. Throw a ball to catch them. If they break free they heal 1/2 of their HP, after the second time 1/4, the third time 1/8 and after that only 1/16 of their max HP.
Personally, I feel like the Milotic you fight at the Crystal Pool and maybe even the Ariados you fight halfway during Perrin's quest line should be considered "bosses," but I get why you didn't include them. Edit: I feel like Milotic is a more likely candidate due to the fact it's a double battle with Carmine, and the fact that you can't catch it.
The only thing too bad is that the player can’t swim,battle with wild or domesticated Pokémon themselves or other trainers if the two parties ran out of non-fainted Pokémon.
Am I the only one hearing Dialga's Fight to the Finish parts mixed in Ursulana's theme? Something similar going on with Ogrepon's theme and the Town where your base of operations is, although they have different songs seemingly mixed in them

I love that the Bloodmoon Ursaluna theme is a rip of the wild battle theme from PLA! Even though some may say it's lazy, it's a great callback!
