The product is good, installation was a nightmare. Getting behind the wheel wells to disconnect the plug and get to that one 7mm screw was not possible without removing the front wheels and more wheel well screws. The front clip didn’t really fit well upon reinstallation and was VERY difficult to get on. It’s as if it changes shape once removed (stretched upon initial installation/temperate changes?). Two screws on the outside of the frunk line still don’t line up. It’s a two man job to boot. Based on my experience, I’d strongly recommend a dealer do this and factor that into the cost of the product.
Totally agree, I also did it myself and what a nightmare it was, not as easy as it looks, but I got it done after a very stressful process. @@redbird444
The grills are a great idea and they look great, too. HOWEVER, I would still want the mesh design to be even tighter (smaller holes). Surely a tighter mesh design wouldn't hamper airflow much.
It would be nice if Chevrolet would offer the grille guards. Even if they had to charge extra🤔. Looks much better Justin with guards both practical and aesthetically 👍
Great video Justin! When I had my Scrape Armor grill guards installed in March the first Chevy dealership declined to work on my Z06 (scurdy pants) and I had to go to a further away Chevy dealership to get em installed. It took the Corvette Specialist 5 hours to install em but he brought me back to the bay where my Z06 was on the lift and thanked me for allowing me to give him the opportunity to work on the first Z06 in the state of Hawaii. Luckily my service advisor only charged me for 3 hours of work. Your diy video was 5 months too late for me or I would have definitely done it myself after watching your in depth how to video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Best looking screens ever. I had a 2022 C8 3LT conv. Those screens are a MUST!! You have great patients to some of these mods yourself. Love your property too. Very Nice!
I ordered these even before I took delivery of my car and they were installed immediately during the PPF process. The fitment was perfect and the install was easy after removing the bumper. Scrape Armor makes a great product. 👍
Justin, the Scrape Armor protection is something that GM should address the radiators are just too vulnerable and you make taking off the front bumper look way too easy...
Thank you for these videos. I had ordered the amazon zip tie set, then returned and got the knock off scrape armor set, and then just said screw it, and bought scrape armor with my GM points. 😂 I will say, they do make a DIFFERENCE! Just the packaging, presentation, material, instructions, and fit will instill confidence and long term reliability. The others are just cut mesh and cheapens the look if I am being honest. Thanks again!
Saw this earlier today. Simply what the doctor ordered for us Z06 owners. Scrape Armor clearly has a superior product! A great tutorial, Justin….great start-to-finish video that covers the entire job. Home run, Many thanks!
Thanks for posting this! You make it look easy! When mine comes in, I know what to do now. Maybe you could do a video on how to repair a rock chip using the touch up paint that GM sells. I am waiting for my PPF appointment but in the meantime i’m trying to get those break-in miles done …. Well I got a tiny rock chip near the top of the headlight, bummer!
Those bugs & rocks/pebbles..are from doin 80mph on the way home from Myrtle Beach...should have done an interior transport..cheaper & better on the 5.5L FPC Ferrari-imitation engine!!
They are holding up perfectly. There won’t be any cooling issues because they were tested for that purpose. that’s the biggest reason GM gave Scrape Armor the go ahead to make these parts without losing warranty.
i bought radiator grill guards from you for my c8. they are the type that go on the outside of the grill with 3m tape. i love them and many people ask me where they can get them. looks like they may not e available anymore., is that true?
Live, Eastern Long Island. So I did this once already.. I took off my nose for the splitter! It sucked! Scrape Armor screens were back ordered at the time. Winter project! When I'm bored and just want to mess with the car! Lol.. Enjoying your content brotha!
The top COrvette engineers have said that they experimented with these covers themselves, but that they hindered cooling, and that if you are on track or live in the south where it is hot, they are not recommended, and if the DCT overheats, Chevy may not cover any damage if you partially restricted airflow to the coolers. Just saying...
These, these are literally official Chevrolet accessories. What you’re talking about happened way before these ones were released. As I said, these are endorsed and sold by Chevrolet.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Also, $700 for two pieces of mesh? Holy chit... lol Yeah, I will find a set of the same dimensions on Amazon or something. For $700 I could just have a new radiator replaced by the dealer if a rock holed it... haha
@HorsePowerObsessed I used to live in Greensburg and have relatives that live in Latrobe. I thought you might live in Latrobe when you got your windows tinted there. Why didn't you get your ZO6 from a PA dealer?
Oh cool. I'm in Irwin, not too far from Greensburg. No PA dealers wanted to play ball. They were all over MSRP or lying about the cars cost to force you to donate to "charity"
Why the GM Corvette team did not; either forsee this problem after many miles of testing or then offer rapid early model protection, I just have to shake my head. I think it was only until the 2022 model year that they offer a grill guard option. This should be a standard build part. 🙄
They had a lot of trouble finding someone who would put in the time for R&D the way scrape armor did. They had to fit perfectly, they had to not hinder cooling/aerodynamics, etc.
What do you guys think of the Scrape Armor protection? I personally find it one of the best fitting "aftermarket" items I've ever installed! 👍
Awesom product Justin.
Keep those mods coming!
Thanks again

They did extensive R&D to find that this hole size was as small as they could go without impacting cooling.
Ah, gotcha. I wonder if their testing was for heavy duty track use or just for normal street driving?
Scrape Armor is a must!
100% agree!

Oh yeah they definitely do and it's DEFINITELY needed especially if you remove the license plate area like I did.
I ordered these even before I took delivery of my car and they were installed immediately during the PPF process. The fitment was perfect and the install was easy after removing the bumper. Scrape Armor makes a great product. 👍
Exactly! After removal of the bumper they are a 20 minute install because of how perfect everything is laid out!

It's actually not that difficult believe it or not. 100% worth it.
Scrape Armor rules! Justin, you rule! C8's rule! All sorts of kick-ass in this video.

Bought the 1VM Splitter Under Guard from ACS composites. A must have with their 1VM splitter. Saved me many times even with a front lift
This seems like a much simpler and more straightforward install compared to the Paragon version. Wow!
Thank you very much for sharing your video. I installed a kit on a 24 z06 today it was so helpful. Everything went on perfectly.
Glad it helped! It's really a nicely made kit.
i would say a must for sure... but dang they are expensive for what they are
The fitment and quality is out of this world, though!
You are literally making the PERFECT C8Z build! Great job Justin!
Thank you!!
Great video! Scrape armor is the only way to go!
You made it look easy
I totally agree! The install of the kit is extremely easy! The bumper removal is the most time consuming part.
I think you have the record for front bumper on and off removal. Third time now haha? Car looks great. Good content👍
lol thanks but it was only off once, just a lot of filming in between.
I agree, Justin just showed taking off but not putting on process
Why doesn't Chevrolet fix this problem "Dang"
supposedly it’s going to be available to add as an option from factory in 2024
Technically they did. They employed scrape armor to do it and sell their kit on their site now and even offer it installed.
It is an option VWE for $895.

should be standard from the factory on a car like this
Agreed. I wish these were just installed right at the factory.
Chevy has radiator grill screens as an option for 2024 for $895. Ouch! It should be included as original equipment in my opinion.
That 895 is installed.

you have taken that front bumper off 3 plus times already , LOL
lol only once actually. All of these videos were filmed at the same time.
Justin, great video..from start to finish, how long was this job?
The scrape armor install took less than 20 minutes. The front bumper removal was more like 2 hours.
That’s just removel? How much total with bumper back on
Looks good
Thanks!
Thoughts on light coat of black spray paint on those radiators?
I would love to do that, but everything I've read suggests it will hurt cooling.
@HorsePowerObsessed Eastwood makes a car radiator paint. It's supposed to be safe.. Not sure they can or will stand by that for a Z06 engine.
Warranty covers it too right
Yup. The only kit out there officially licensed by GM.
I don't see how those guards are going to keep bugs less than a half inch out of the radiator? It seems to me you would need some kind of mesh screen.
really small bugs are still going to get through if they hit it at the right spot.
Anyway to put on without taking front nose off?
Not this brand, no.
Thanks Justin

can you get the Z06 package without it being carbon fiber? I would like to know if you can get it to match the color of the car instead.
Yes. You can get it in carbon flash as well. If you want it custom painted I’m sure you could do that as well.
