    Two cardigans, because it's getting to that time where bundling up is just a daily way of life. Hoping to also bask you a bit in velvet shimmer. Thank you for watching!!

    I was excited to see this and the cardigans looked amazing. I was wondering if you would take more time to show more detail in your videos of measurements, cutting etc. I realize they are in your blog but I'm a very visual learner and find it much easier if I watch something step by step in a video. Thanks for your awesome tutorials and if you haven't the time to do them this way, its not a problem:)

      My videos are no way as pretty as Wendy's, but they're aimed at people with a little less experience who like to see each stage of making in real time. You can check out my channel if you have the sewing bug! :)

      +Lovaine Niblock Yes I will be slowing down in the future! This tutorial didn't turn out as perfectly timed as I had hoped, so I'm sorry that it is a bit fast :(

    I've always wanted to make my own clothes but I'm terrible when it comes to sewing.
    For the most part is because I never actually learned the basics so you can imagine how overjoyed I was to find out that you're going to start a basics series soon! gurl, you just earned yourself a new subscriber

    Super excited for the turorials, im waiting for my very first sewing machine to arrive. Just in time!
    What do you think about using dress forms? Have you ever tried it? Would it be easier to use, you think?

    • @Sustaita.handmade
      @Sustaita.handmade 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lilox in my personal opinion this wouldnt be very hard without a dress form, think of sewing from a pattern as making one of those 3D paper dolls. or somewhat to a step by step coloring book. you dont really need a dress form unless youre fitting garments, altering, or draping something

      Paula Moreno Post a WANTED AD under the FOR SALE section of your local Craigslist - sounds weird, but most people look through the for sale stuff as CL has it open on default to that section (or most apps have that as a default). You'll get MANY replies... I got a vintage machine worth a lot of $ for free, a sewing cabinet that retails for $450-$500 for $20 and help taking it down a flight of stairs, and OMG you should see the FABRIC that ilder women who sadly can't sew like they used to give me! YARDS OF beautiful wool tweeds, real woolled flannels, heirloom linens and laces, yards of organza, buckets of zippers, buttons, elastics, thimbles, CRAZY more fabric, patterns and more patterns and MORE fabrics... The only price I pay? I usually plan to be there for an hour or two, as the woman who is giving me stiff will start talking about the time she bought it - what it was for, if she made it or not and why... It's actually one of the most amazingly cool ways of getting things for cheap or free - I usually just say "Sewing Lover ISO fabrics and notions to make my own clothing with. I'm happy to pay what I can - but it's not going to be very much. I'm hoping that posting here, people will think of me when decluttering or culling their fabric & pattern stashes - am happy to meet you in public, at your home at your convenience, or whatever works for you. If you have ANYTHING, it would help me a lot, and if there's anything I could help you with - like sorting your fabrics, or taking some things to a charity shop, I am nore than happy to help out as much as I can. Eyelets, laces, curtains, vintage tablecloths, border prints, calico, youll find some amazing stuff.

I love your style of vlogging, editing, etc. Fast. Too fast for me to follow but that's what the speed setting is for. You sounded drunk at half speed...lol...but it helped to slow it down. • @withwendy
      @withwendy  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +alager27 As long as the velvet has good weight so that it really drapes from the shoulders it should have the right silhouette. I'd avoid velvet with stretch though, will be harder to work with for the kimono style.
