Nope, it took much more time but they edited this video and make it shorter. The list include 36 questions and as u see they just answered a few of them in this vid. I did this experiment and it took us around 1 hour and half. But who would want to watch video that long?
Nishikant don't be ignorant. No they have not fallen for each other at all. It's just an experiment and they could have said that because they were being filmed. I hope the very best for both of them.

When you make an experiment that involves people, you don't tell your subjects what you expect from the experiment, because it might influence the outcome.
Marius Gabriel Lupu yes but people are not sure if it's really ethical to not tell them about the experiment.
Nisot X, yes, on the other side you need their agreement to be able to publish the result. But if the experiment is not harmful to them, I don't really see the problem. In this case, telling them it's a social experiment (although lately this term is misunderstood, thanks to TH-cam) would be enough. Experiments that involve the consciousness, like this one, are very likely to be altered by the subjects themselves, merely by knowing what is to be expected of them. Of course, other types of experiments should be fully disclosed, especially if it's about something that the subjects can not control (like the reaction of their bodies to different stimuli, for instance).
But then again, this video does not claim to be scientific in any way, so it's ok. I was just saying that this experiment is of no real value.

Whats the placebo effect?
The Placebo effect is when you expect something to happen when you undergo a treatment and it actually happens. Like when you are told a pill will cure your cold, and it does despite it being a only a sugar pill.
It doesn't really apply to this study though. Most psychological treatments don't work unless you expect it to. In psychological studies such as this, you're essentially measuring and wanting to find the Placebo effect.
Not that I'm defending what the two guys in the video are saying. If you read through the actual study, the researchers even say that their findings were ambiguous and were not confidant in their style of study. Also, as someone who just graduated with a degree in psychology, psychological studies are often vague and misleading anyway.
I would say the only way to know if this was truly not a placebo effect was to have one person ask another unsuspecting victim.

A lot of these questions are designed to make someone feel negative emotions and feel insecure, then to have comfort emotionally. The complements bring affirmation that the other person will accept you. Once you feel safe with the person, staring into someone's eyes for a duration brings with it a strengthened bond. Like with anything, wanting to fall in love increases the likelihood you'll actually fall in love. Since love is seen as an addiction, it almost seems like the mind deludes itself to keep the high, but if all parties are happy then indulging in a little fantasy isn't a bad thing.
+Tony McLean I see where you're coming from but I'd say that, instead, these questions are designed to make them emotionally vulnerable and enable them to be open, this establishes a bond and creates an atmosphere of honesty and openness, which lead to the compliments because it's established they're being honest and not trying to be kind but honestly saying what they like about each other.
The eyes thing is to deepen that empathy to each other, after all, in a way, we communicate through our eyes.

This reminds me of a conversation I once had with a guy at a party... we started chatting and talked, just the two of us, for more than an hour. This test is biased. The experiment was influenced when the participants were told that the questions could help them fall in love.

They should have found two strangers who are not physically attracted to each other to see if this experiment works. The girl in this experiment was pretty, and the guy was not ugly, so regardless of the questions, these two people could have hit it off based on looks.
+Tiffastic Nguyen human nature dictates that physical attrition is an important part if not paramount to match making. If the two were not physically attracted to each other, they most likely would have not 'hit it off' as well as they did, especially since a lot of their compliments to each other were on appearance. physical attraction is the first step to a relationship. I doubt you go out on the street and say, "Hmm that guy looks like he has a great personality, lets go hit him up (If it helps, please change pronoun to sexuality you prefer)!". Now if you do that's fantastic, well done for you you're a great person, but most people don't work that way.

Amal H They didn't necessarily fall in love in that short ammount of time, but in the beginning, it said it would increase the likelyhood that two strangers would fall in love, which is true. When talking to a stranger, it has been proven that when you open up more to them and find out more about them in a short time, than your brain releases more Oxytocin (the love chemical) than usual and could make you feel more attracted to that person or even fall in love with them.
