Some back-of-the-napkin calculations suggest that the terminal velocity of 3.5 lb ham would be approximately 52 +/- 18.7 meters per second (the error on that is pretty large because of the uncertainty in the cross-sectional area and the drag coefficient). That comes out to about 116 +/- 42 miles per hour.

Terminal velocity is how fast an object falls in an ballistic trajectory determined by natural phenomena. So the speed limit is whatever society decides it is. I wasn't concerned with that question though. Julia asked for terminal velocity, and I did my best. We've got an estimate and approximate upper and lower bounds, and that's about it.

Far Side comics sometimes have fairly lengthy captions, but the actual joke is almost ALWAYS visual, so they would be fertile ground for the DrawFreaks

A weird concept to draw:
Taking everyday mundane animals and combining them with traits from mythical creatures. Giraffe+hydra as an example.
I love how in the New Yorker video, everyone was taking Jacob’s comic ideas, and then in this one his idea was taken before he got his prompt (by Julia and Jacob himself by already knowing the comic).
Hearing the statement "Heathcliff is like Homestuck" absolutely slammed me in the gut and launched my soul from my body, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
"Drawing [blank] based on the caption/description" is my favorite type of drawfee topic. So much fun.
My favorite thing about these comics is that these all feel like they could be completely normal Heathcliff comics and they wouldn't seem too weird.
“What’s the speed limit for ham” reminded me of “the food is too fast. when the calf ends, the company stops” or something from the pokemon google translate ep.

This type of video would be great for any single-panel comic series. In particular, I was sitting at my desk watching this and I looked over to my roommate's corner, noticing his Far Side daily calendar and now I can't help but imagine what these goons could do with some Far Side captions.

Alright, you got me Nathan. I looked up some of the comics, and I spent quite a while browsing. They really are a delight.
As soon as I saw this episode, I knew in my heart that Julia would be drawing the garbage ape, and I have not been disappointed.

And just fyi. Garbage Ape has a sidekick called Trash Chimp. This should be addressed.
I actually read a lot of the original Heathcliff as a kid, and he was already pretty obscure by then. It's so neat and surprising to see that he's still remembered and appreciated!
