The Alex vs Zaku is a true tragedy. Neither pilot knew they were fighting their lover. The only one who knew the truth was Al, the boy they both befriended. And he had no way of stopping the fight
@@WadeWadeReacts One correction the pilots weren't lovers just friends as they had only known of each other for less than a month and most of that time were with their respective units working on their mobile suits.
2:20 As childish as it is that Kou horrified Nina and totaled the Gundam beyond the point of repairs over being salty about his calculations being trash compared to hers. The crazy part is what Kakarot doesnt say. The pilot who saved Kou was recovering from an injury and shouldnt be piloting, but chose to literally destroy his cast and endure the pain of having to pilot with a broken leg to bring him back
6:39 that, uh.....wasn't because of the mission. He kind of went off mission to kill a bunch of civilians. That's also kind of why they didn't just capture him. He just killed their families. Also, he was a sympathizer with an extremist group so really not the best person. But really Seed isn't very subtle with it's characters.
Ironically, Bernie saved/prolonged zeon by going against the alex gundam. If he didn't, then Amuro would have gotten the Alex gundam and possibly killed Char and devestated zeon.
What I find more messed up with the Alex vs the Zaku Kai was how the Cyclops team's commanding officer made it impossible for them to achieve their mission. He made sure the team got Bernie, a rookie pilot, to replace a member who died in the Federation's arctic base, and gave them a crazy short time limit to complete the mission just so they would fail and give him justification to nuke the colony. And that's not even mentioning how using nukes was a violation of the Antarctic Treaty forbidding the use of weapons of mass destruction.
I'll just say: the Cruelty and Crudeness of War is very appropriately displayed in these Gundam Sagas my friends. As well as the Hardness of that Life, the Loss, the Tragedy, the Morality and the Lack thereof. As that proverb says: War is a Strange, Ridiculous and Meaningless Game. The only way to Win is to Not Play. Thanks.
gundams are made to be much better than everything else, and most of the time, grunts aren't exactly ganging up on one suit, but is in a battle shooting someone else. Grunts ganging on usually works, yea.

@@Sbart117 Yeah, it was tragic the way the story played out.

@@APrinnyDood Lt. South Burning is one of my favorite characters from Stardust Memory, and that was pretty cool when he broke his cast to save Kou.
RIP to all of these Gundam’s they had the power but in Gundam there’s a thing called misfortune and they all had to meet it in their fights RIP

@@dagonofthedepths Thanks for the added context.
Yeah he just committed mass murder instead of sticking to the mission like most Earth Alliance pilots throughout Seed have done.

Though it's also very likely that the UC would have gone a lot worse if Char died. Kakarot has a speculative series about this.
