My new soldering microscope: The Andonstar AD249S-M | makermoekoe

Andonstar was so kind and send me their newest 10" microscope - the AD249S-M. A descent successor of my old one - the AD409. It comes with three different lenses and a maximal magnification of over 2000! Solderpaste balls look like tennis balls.

What is the difference between AD249S and AD409? Can you see any difference on the screen is there better picture on one of them or wider depth of field ect?

Can you comment on the quality of the video output when comparing both this new AD249S-M and your old AD409? To me it seems like the video quality of the AD409 is better. I wonder if perhaps it's down to the quality of the higher-magnification lenses being somewhat poorer.

Digital microscopes are great for taking pictures and rubbish for a lot of other tasks like populating boards and fine rework. No thanks.

@@Podwodnaja I actually use Olympus and other stereo microscopes. So much better. And the Chinese ones aren't much more expensive than a digital microscope.

@@megatesla Stereo microscopes are the way to go for sure. I've seen plenty trinocular ones for attaching a camera for the best of both worlds, not too far off in price.
