Learning tagalog is more prectical than learning bisaya on the account that tagalog can be undorstood and spoken by most Visayans and the fact that two thirds of the country's population lives in the main island of Luzon which is predominantly speaking tagalog. Even the other ethnic groups like ilocanos, kapampangans, most of them speak tagalog. So it is safe to say that Tagalog is spoken by 80 to 85 percent of Filipinos.
As a native Tagalog speaker I must insist you have confused my language with the national language of the Philippines which is PHILIPPINO. The national language is not Tagalog. So in trying to act educated, you have shown your ignorance!
