Reading this brought on many emotions. Mainly pain. Heartache. But, for you to give uplifting words with what you were going through, it gives me some sort of comfort. Reassurance that things will be fine. “ I Hate That I Love You.” - I used those words today. Directed at my girlfriend. Now ex. Of 11 years. We’ve been separated a few times. Both her and I had an understanding that this would likely be the last time we try to save what we have. Obviously I’m not perfect. Nor she. I’ve had a drug problem in 2017. I did what I had to do I didn’t lose My Love. Went to rehab and haven’t used since. Not losing her was what motivated me. Being told by many that I’m wasting my time if I wasn’t there to help myself. I had no doubts. I knew I was going to shape up. For her. For us. And I did. She cheated on me once before I went. Again while I was in rehab. And I’m embarrassed to even say but countless times since. All the way up until today. I hate that all - 11+ yrs was a lie and that I was wrong about who I thought I knew. I held out with the hope that the person I thought I knew, would finally come to like and we could finally make it work and make progress. I was blamed for all of it. She took blame a few times but even then. It was my fault that she did what she did. I know now, it is not my fault and she is just wrong. Lost. Broken. I was manipulated into believing it was my fault. I just wanted to believe, still want to believe I’m not being lied to and betrayed. But that’s not the case. We’ve been in this cycle for a long time. I’ve felt pain for the majority of our relationship. I planned to marry her and she knew that. I’ve told her many times. And i truly believed I was going to. Only just recently I realized, that most likely will not happen. ….. Why do I want to Marry her !!!! Still. That’s what I want. I SERIOUSLY HATE THAT I LOVE HER. But I do. Sorry I forgot I was writing a comment on a video. I don’t talk to anybody about my problems. Especially my relationship. With how messed up it is and how dumb I look. I hope nobody has to go through this. Unfortunately many people will. Nobody’s advice worked for me when they would say “ you need to get out before it’s too late. “. “Once a ____, always a ____. “. I wish so badly that I had listened. Letting go now is a lot harder than it would have been back then. All of that time and love. I know time heals all. But love. Love doesn’t just disappear.
