The 1st cemetery was the “Old” or “Little” Mossy Springs Cemetery & the steps & foundation are the remnants of the 1 room Mossy Springs schoolhouse that my Grandfather attended

More interesting how many caves you pasted and didn't even know it. Alot of the caves still have salt peter vats in them where they went in the caves and mined it back in the war. It's a cool place.

Chuck Swan is actually a State forest. I am the Forestry Technician over the forest. I hope that you have had a chance to return and spend more time. The forest is a little less than 25,000 ac. In the Lost Creek cemetery there is a revolutionary war veteran buried. Next time you come, please stop by the forest office after the forest entrance and pick up a map. (inside the gate)
The wildlife on the forest is managed by Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency. We are the Tennessee Division of Forestry and we work hand in hand with TWRA.
Feel free to contact me with questions.
